Just wanted to get an idea what kind of maps people want (or is missing) in halo 4? Arena style maps, symmetrical maps? Big team maps? small 2 on 2 maps?
Better BTB maps. Maps like exile and ragnarok need to go.

Why do we need BTB maps? We have plenty of reasonably good big maps, and very few small maps, many of which are crap.
I’m going to put in a vote for symmetrical, small/medium-small maps with an emphasis on form over function.
I don’t need to see all sorts of environmental crap. I need a map I can enjoy playing on.
More maps like the Community Forge ones, I really liked them. (That playlist was pretty laggy at times though)
Given the ability to sprint now for everyone, we need more big maps. Saying that, we need to ahve big maps that aren’t crowded. Shatter and especially Wreckage feel very crowded for maps of their size. Just too “busy.”
As well, I think we need to have larger Forge maps. Erosion is big, but again suffers from too much going on. Impact isn’t big enough. Now had both parts of the asteroids been as one, it would have been HUGE.
Ravine is really two maps in one and neither are large. One is small-medium (Forerunner part), the other part being the ground part is a medium sized map and it’s not symmetrical. In fact none of the forge maps are.
Personally, I’d like to see a simple “island” map. Large and totally flat so that we can line up objects on the ground with ease and not worry about some little rock protruding out of it at some weird angle. By having it as an island, it would already create a boundary that we wouldn’t need to set up ourselves.
Also, I really want an all space map with absolutely NOTHING in it. Except a center marker only see in forge so you know where dead center is and can build from there.
Also, when giving us new maps, PLEASE allow us to be able to use the FULL forge pallete instead of pulling some sections out, most importantly the “Structure” portion. As well, each map should be able to include ALL gametypes. I think it’s ridiculous that certain maps can’t play Dominion and/or Extraction on them. While we’re at it, how about giving us back all of those gametype options? Man I miss Race and Headhunter and Assault. Heck even a simple side game like “Hockey” was fun in Reach but I can’t recreate that in Halo 4 due to limitations of specific playlist items.
Beyond this, I’d like to see more human maps. Not Forerunner and/or Requiem based. Harvest was a good step, but it doesn’t really “feel” like Harvest to me. I’d like to see a city map, a forest map (yes, LOTS of trees and foliage. More so than Ridgeline)
While we’re at it, how about allowing us to add more foliage? Trees, bushes, etc. Forged maps tend to looks too much like one another due to the limitations of objects able to be places. If you already have foliage on the maps, why are we not allowed to add more of them?
I could really go on and on…I LOVE forging and really just want to let my creativity flourish. Halo 4’s forge was a step back in many ways. Though I do like Magnets, gravity volumes and trait zones.
