what to get first halo 4 or black ops II?

This has been eating at me for sometime. I’m going to get both no doubt but i can only get one now but the other i have to wait for Christmas. Thus, I’m leaning towards Halo 4 atm, but i do have a desire to get back into some CoD. The last CoD game i had was Black Ops I, i needed a break from the rehash after rehash. Right now i own every game that has the word halo on it, even halo wars that you can get for the 360, expect halo 2.

I’ve always enjoyed them, but i never got extremely hooked on them either. However, that’s the same with all the CoDs. I’d get to the third or fourth prestige and then quit. Now, before someone goes and states the obvious, i do realize this is a halo forum and there may be some bias here. However, this is the reason i chose the halo forum to discuss this situation, simply because i’m leaning towards getting halo 4 first and so i’m hoping the fans can overcome my concerns. Also, this site does seem to be peppered with harsh critics of Halo 4, but thats like this at every specific game site forum. Like the beth forums for skyrim. Everyone hates it but they all play it and can never stop talking about it so i just interpret it as a love/ hate thing where you can live with’em or without’em type thing.

Alright, here’s the deal, i’m wondering if the improvements in Halo 4 that you guys have gathered from no doubt endless hours of research, will be so noteworthy that anyone who enjoyed any halo game can’t pass up. Like i said, i have all the halo game you can get on xbox and they all feel just like halo should. However, i’m wondering if the rewards, things you unlock and the over all feel and look of the game will seem like Halo truly evolved to a level none could have predicted. Or, is it basically like every other halo game we’ve had with a few tweaks and added features.

That’s were i’m stuck. If i’m going to be getting the same old halo, which isnt bad mind you versus the same old CoD, which isnt bad either, if you have taken a break for 2 years like i have, then i start leaning towards CoD cause unlike halo games i own, i don’t own any CoD games and i kinda of miss em lol. Thus, i could get my halo fix till christmas and get some CoD in during the meantime.

However, if there is anything groundbreaking in Halo 4, then i’ll do the opposite. The one thing i’m also stuck on is the weekly free DLC co-op episodes for Halo co-op. I heard something like 10 chapter and 50 missions. That may be what breaks the camels back idk.

Well, i can go on and on so i’ll spare you any further struggles i’m am having with this choice. And for those of you that thinks this may be foolish, its not for me. Cause, whatever game i don’t choice will mean i have to wait over a month to get and if i feel like i made the wrong choice, then that is one painful month. I’m having a hard time waiting for the 6th and i’m not even sure if i’m getting halo 4 or not lol.

but yea lets look at it this way… if you get the BEST COD player and put him in a 1v1 against an ok COD player the OK COD player still has a chance he can win, that is just because how COD works not much skill is needed to play the game

now take the BEST halo player put him up against an ok halo player in a 1v1, the OK player gets pretty much shur out every time, why?

b/c halo can actually take some skill to play unlike COD

so get halo if you want competition…

Regardless of what game is better etc ask yourself this:

What game do you want first?
a) A game which will have support/content updates dropped after 12months.
b) A game which will be around and played till next gen?

I would say if you are going to get COD get it by New Year otherwise your throwing money away.

I’ve got halo and its the bomb and will play it till halo 5 depending on this CSR sucess, though i might pick up COD at xmas mainly to try the league system.

I’d recommend you to buy Halo 4 first.

Firstly, if you finish one game of MP before November 22nd, you will get early access to specializations and rank up in the meantime. If you are more of a MP guy, that’s for you.
If you enjoyed the Halo storyline more or equally to MP, you have another reason to buy Halo 4 first. I know the first 3 missions of Halo 4 and I can say it was pretty spectacular. You can play it after Christmas too, but I’d die waiting that long. :slight_smile:

But at the end, it is entirely your decision, this is just my opinion. I’ll be probably getting both too, and Ac3 as well at some time.

Oh, and the names in the signatures probably link to their Twitter accounts. Not sure what the dates could be, unless it’s November 6th. XD

Depends on what you’re looking for in a game. If you like the very casual very fast paced gameplay of call of duty get black ops2. If you prefer the slightly slower gameplay of Halo 4 then get that instead.

I’m pretty sure Halo has challenges in it very similar to call of duty and combined with the spartan ops thing or w/e it is, the game has more then enough to keep someone entertained till christmas.

We all know what black ops 2 will have because call of duty hasn’t changed significantly since modern warfare so I would consider that the safe pick.
