What to do with Cheaters?

Other than filing a complaint on xbox live, what can we do to expose people that are obviously cheating or boosting that doesn’t violate any terms or rules? I have video proof, gamertags, stats, and other websites that have already hit these players with the ban-hammer?

I think file complaints is the most anyone can do. You can try to see if Xbox Support can give you any other routes to go. Honestly though I think that department is staffed by howler monkeys for any real work that gets done. MinnesotaBurns, a YouTuber, does tons of trolling videos and gets console banned a lot and yet cheaters and modders seems to evade the hammer.

I recently made a thread yesterday that stayed on the first page of the halo 4 forums for the whole day and it was locked because people thought it was mean that I posted the players gamer tags without their permission.

Still have any connections with him?

The only thing you can do is file a complaint

File complaint, avoid, and move on. There really isn’t anything else you can do about it.

Well if you were dedicated enough you could track down the cheater, coat their houses in a smelly substance and leave a note saying “Quit being an -Yoink- on Xbox Live”.

I’d get the point across.

ban al cheaters on theire own server. cheater vs. cheater. they will have realy fun. lolololol

I’ve met my fare share of cheaters along the way believe me, But i don’t think there’s much all else that can be done other than to raise a complaint on XBL.

yeah but they dont get banned

Well apparently, cheaters shouldn’t be a problem in Halo 4 because the CSR is not visible in game.

After running into an alarming number of people using various different glitches, mods, or whatever they may be using. I decided to research into the method of banning.

There seems to be a conflict of interest. XBox Support says Halo 4, Halo: Reach, and Call of Duty game bans are handled by the company (Treyarch and 343)

But you guys are telling us Xbox Live handles the bans. So which is it?

343’s position on the matter:

> I think I found a player cheating online in Halo 4. What should I do?
> The best thing you can do is report the user by selecting the user’s Gamertag on Xbox LIVE, selecting “View Gamer Profile, “File Complaint,” and then select the appropriate action.

Xbox LIVE’s position on the matter:

> The Xbox Policy Enforcement Team does NOT have the ability to resolve game-specific bans and suspensions. If you have lost privileges in a specific game, contact the game’s developer for assistance:
>
> Halo 4, Halo: Reach
>
> Call of Duty

99% of these “cheaters” are just a result of a laggy game.

Heres what you can do.

  1. File complaint so you dont match them again.
  2. Forget about it

I can guarantee you that this incident that I’m speaking about involves a lag switch, as well as k/d boosting.

Nah, pretty sure I know the difference between lagging and cheating.

You giving these cheaters the benefit of the doubt isn’t helping. The banhammer is broken. Filing complaints doesn’t work. Look at the link I sourced.

I just think its ironic that the forum that is filled TO THE BRIM with complaints about how broken Halo 4 is doesn’t give a rat’s -Yoink- about the cheating population, saying “who cares”, or “why do you care”.

It’s getting really bad in todays games. People can’t keep ignoring this like it’s not happening.

I think you were in my other thread and anyone with a brain that saw that video I posted can tell the wasn’t just coincidental lag, especially my teamate just getting booted out at the end.
