1- When you add a cap, the ranks become less accurate, especially if the system skips ranks in an attempt to find the appropriate skill level for the player. This is definetly true for 50s in Halo 3 since players can easily boost 50s in about 30 games or less. This causes grief for those in the middle because of the system.
-The system would ideally always pair up 8 players of skill of 33, but connection and player count makes that impossible to do at all times. One has to be practical
-my system doesnt skip ranks when leveling up
-In my system if you won 30 games straight at level 1 you would be at 6, every rank takes 5 wins to go up - though this can be modified as seen fit either more or less wins to go up, 5 is just a placeholder to ease understanding.
> By removing the cap, players in the middle of the curve will stay about the same on average until they learn, get better and progress past that particular area, and add an incentive for those to continue to play ranked on one account should that account naturally degrade due to players passing that account.
Well I see no reason why the system couldnt be to 100. or maybe take 10 wins per rank. there is plenty of wiggle room in my system. its adaptive to any kind of problems that come up
> 2- Degrading shouldn’t be the answer in my opinion. All that would do is punish players below him. It’s like taking pain medication for an injury that needs surgery. The problem is not going to get fixed, and will naturally get bigger as time moves on and players play other games.
arguably that has already happened with H4
though i dont htink i entirely get what you are saying, please explain
> 3- They should be available at SR-1. If they are not good, you shouldn’t see them(assuming the system will actually do its job, compared to Reach) for long on new playlists.
many players had an issue with new accounts, this system fixes that well known problem
> The community should keep each other down, not a system of any sort. The system should just pair people up of similar skill together, not seperate them. At the same time, it should have an incentive for players of all levels playing, instead of ending at 50. Skill does not end at a particular level. Therefore, a ranking system should reflect that.
People are already separated by the system and have been since H2, its called true skill, this system is just to add a rank system for those who want it. If you dont like ranks push a button and you will never know they exist.
skill may not end but even in H3 of all the players that player only ~5% ever made 50. Just check the skill distribution on Halo 3 if you don’t believe me.
either way making it 1-100 would fix your issue, no?
