What ticks you off the most about Halo Infinite?

Lmao what :rofl::rofl: there is no way …

The most frustrating thing for me is how the aiming feels.

My god where to begin?
1, THe open world is literally bad, its empty, boring, and shallow. Has nothing but filler content between the not-even-good missions. None of the side content adds anything good to the game. There is no replayability for the open world. So once you do everything in it. It’s literally just a waste of time between missions. And lets not even talk about how the missions are almost just as bad. 0 biome diversity. In HCE we went from a woodland, to desert, to island, to tundra, to swamp, all with forerunner mixed in. H2, space station, to city, to woodland, to snow, etc. I could actually go on from H3-H5.

2, No pre and post-game lobbies, or a real progression system. no real reason for me to play MP aside from a brainless grind.

3, one of the worst weapon sandboxes in the franchise. It says a lot when HCE has a more interesting and fun weapon sandbox than literally the 7th entry into the franchise. 343 could have had the biggest most fun weapon sandbox in the franchise, with weapons and vehicles returning from every Halo past. But no, they made the braindead decision to ditch pretty much all fan-favorite weapons in favor of BS “every weapon needs to fill a role” and remove redundancy.

I could keep going. But just writing this is making me so furious.

EVERYTHING about this game. Especially the criminally overrated campaign and story, as well as the equally criminally overrated gameplay that doesn’t even feel as engaging and fun as any of the previous games. And don’t even get me started on the whole F2P model!

Lack of even the most basic understanding from 343i is what bothers me.

“Halo is a very competitive game, that’s our DNA, that’s who we are…”
No, Halo wasn’t competitive and isn’t supposed to be. Halo was and is supposed to be a fun couch co-op/party game and social game.

Rotating playlists. This game has a ton of issues but most of them need actual work done on them to be fixed. Meanwhile 343 actively chooses to shoot themselves in the foot with the constant removal of core gamemodes/playlists.

  1. Desync

  2. Weapon balancing

  3. Matchmaking

I’m by no means a spectacular player but I’m not terrible. Tired of shooting people and they don’t die.

Don’t like the weapon balancing for the winter update. BR didn’t need nerfed. The sidekick is ridiculously overpowered and accurate from long range which makes no sense. I can still chuck grenades ridiculous distances but I melee swing like an old lady.

  1. Desync, which is solely caused by crossplay between consoles vs PC, remove that harbage and you’ll have perfectly wirking/playabe game. It’s almost 2023 already and it’s bizarre it hasn’t done yet.

  2. Controls (XBox) - why on earth each gun controls differently is beyond me. Like, I get that all those fancy crosshairs are here due to heritage, but their size determines how/when the aim assist kicks in, and as a results guns like e.g. Commando are uncontrollable on a controller (and people argue about M+K having disadvantage lol). Hust add an invisible circle which is exactly the same size for every gun and is what actually triggers aim assist, while still having those fancy crosshairs for each weapon.

  3. The minimap. Oh boy, whoever designed this should be fired and never be able to work on a video game ever again. This is how radar works (key word - WORKS) in every other game out there - you shoot=you reveal yourself on the minimap, that’s really it. No here’s how it “wirks” in Infinite - you’re pretty much permanently exoosed, EXCEPT when you shoot… And sprinting even highlights you even more… I got to play MW2 the other week, and boy, as bad as the game is with its sub-200ms TTK and head glitch and all the camping, the minimap is done perfectly, you can sneak up someone from behind, you can flank enemy team that holds an objective, and you don’t get anxiety everytine you sprint. If only Infinite adopted normal minimap system the whole flow of the game would be sooo much better, instead of what it os currently, which is just awful, basically before you even get around the corner you’re already getting dozen of nades thrown in your way, so bad.

  4. Weapons balance, or rather the lack off - most importantly it’s really hard to call Infinite a shooter when in reality it’s all about spamming nades and melee, and occupying vehicles… First thing I’d do is to buff the guns (but just slightly), and nerf the melee and nades. Also add a delay between consecutive melee hits, so that if you hit your melee too early you have to either wait a for the next one or use your gun. That way people would really have to rely on their guns instead and use melee only when they’re certain it’s gonna be the finishing blow.

The lack of playlists, lackluster customization, no proper lobby system etc. ate just a “bonus” issues if you ask me, without solving all the network connection issues, which again, could’ve been easily solved by removing the crossplay + forcing regional natchmaking by default, the gamecwill never become just decent, let alone any good/great.

Lying studio and every aspect of this game except for some texture and sound work is incredibly bad. Never before have I seen such a fumbled big-name release and loss of players.

  1. De-Synch and rubber banding.
  2. Not being able to select the Game mode I want to play (i.e BTB Slayer, QucikPlay Slayer) when I want to play it.
  3. Being able to select the Server - Data Center I want to play on myself, instead of hoping they do it properly.
  4. Not knowing what Data Center I am actually playing on with their Automagic Selector code.
  5. AFK players that do nothing (according to their end game stats - 0’s across the board except for their deaths) for the entire match and aren’t removed.
  6. Useless weapons (looking at you, Plasma Pistol) and weapons that either need a rework or damage boost (Hydra, Pulse Carbine, Needler etc.) or can be replaced with usable weapons.

The one positive note is that up until this season release and the addition of the “Search Region Local” Option, I couldn’t even tell what “De-Synch” was. Before this, 80% of my matches had ping times of 250+ ms because their Server Selector thought that a Server in Eastern Europe was closer to me in Alberta Canada than Seattle. When it did pick Seattle, my ping times are like they are now, 30 - 40 ms for BTB and 20 to 25 ms for 4v4.

So people might want to try enabling the “Search Region Local” option if they are having high pings.

Re-Post of original.

The studio heads being unreachable until it’s time to trot them out to talk about the tough decisions they took to ensure we could still buy the next battle pass. Coop dead, game browser dead, half the series guns/vehicles dead (no aerial transport vehicles sucks, hornets and falcons are iconic. Letting us use the Razorback’s item mounting would have made the sandbox even better)

Half the features seem cool, but are useless. Dedicated drop weapon button does not auto tag your dropped gun for friendlies, and you can’t speak to them since mute is defaulted and prox chat is gone. A “tag” button that lets you send a location but lacks the ability to say WHAT is at that location. Slightly behind cover? It’s just a wall bro, all clear, rush in. Removing assassinations and friendly collisions for “user experience” reasons doesn’t fly when it sounds like you’re lying about technical debt.

I don’t trust a word they say, even bringing out Staten for that coop cancelation just made me start to hate him too. If he can’t keep a core feature what do I care if he can eventually make the story coherent again? I didn’t have fun finishing Infinite the first two times, and the “story content” is cutscenes attached to a battle pass like Spartan Ops didn’t exist two games ago.
