Well, damn. In some ways, perhaps my best WZFF game ever. Not only did we win with a “Defeat All Promethean Bosses” for Round 5 - I only died once. And it was at the very end of R1, right after we won, when a Promethean Soldier killed me before all the AI self-destructed - LOL!
Listen up boys and girls! Here’s your “WZFF Lesson of the Day” - It’s all about bringing in the right thing and then using it the right way (without thinking too hard about it):
Round 1: “Kill All Crawlers” - straightaway brought in an ONI Scout Hog and ran a whole lot of Crawlers and Soldiers over, while avoiding the Knights, while someone else was doing the same thing with a Rally Scout Hog. Made it all the way to completion, then died when I stopped to park and bask in my success (keep moving!)
Round 2: “Defend the Armory” - since I was at L3 REQ’s, and the Armory was way the hell over there, I brought in a Wasp. Stayed low-ish, dodged behind cover, used rockets when Prometheans spawned in, basically kept moving and shooting the whole time. Completed the round with the Wasp mostly intact.
Round 3: “Covenant Ghosts and a Wraith” - now at L5 REQ, flew the Wasp into the Fortress, upgraded personal weapons and equipped “Wheelman” Armor Mod, flew back out and repeated what I did in R2. Helped take down the Wraith and one of the Ghosts. Completion with Wasp intact, but very, very much on fire.
Round 4: “3 Motherf***ing Knights in the Fortress” - landed and destroyed the Wasp, brought in a Temple Wraith which is frakking AWESOME (first time using one). Helped takedown one or two of the Legendary Knights, and a buttload of other enemies, finished about 75% intact.
Round 5: “Defeat All Promethean Bosses” - left the Uber-Wraith near the Armory and ran to the Fortress to bring in a Hannibal Scorpion, because I knew 3 Wardens were coming. By the time I drove from the Base (why didn’t I load from the Fortress??) someone was putting my beat-up Temple Wraith to good use pounding the 2 Legendary Knights. Once they were down, we all moved to the Base to take on the 2 Legendary Wardens and the Mythic Warden. Took out some Knights and Soldiers (damn, that Hannibal main “gun” is potent) and helped get one of the Legendry’s, and did my best to engage the Mythic while others took down the remaining Legendary. We got the Mythic, no assist for me, but all that really matters is that we won.
Oh, and just for me, that from Round 2 until victory in Round 5, I did not die.
