As Halo has grown everyone has grown to love the choice of armour given to the player. But with Halo 4 the armour more specifically the new specialisation helmets, are so drastically different is this a new step were taking in the look of Halo?
The new helmets can be found on the 15/8/12 bulletin (or 8.15.12).
There are only two traditional style helmets in this update and they are Rogue and Operator (which looks very similar to the Crysis helmet - which isnt a bad thing).
But some helmets look like they are coming from somewhere we have never seen before (most could easily fit naturally into Mass Effect), and don’t seem real to Halo or ever as armour. I hope the standard armour set is more familiar, but hope there are reasons behind such radical designs of the specialisation armour.
Like the Wetwork helmet, who has eyes in the middle of their head? Although one that looks familiar to halo but not for spartans in the halo universe is the Stalker helmet it looks extremely similar to the brute stalkers helmet.
What do you think of the new helmets, do you like them and think they are halo?
They’re just helmets. I’m not a fan but I won’t claim they aren’t Halo. We’ve seen similar helmet designs before.
I like them, i really like the soldier helmet as well as the operator
Yes because Hayabasu TOTALLY fit into Halo 3.

Have you seen FOTUS? It’s like a unicorn crossed with Megatron.
The only sane looking one is Recruit.
They look like the UNSC Infinity – a piece of the finest tech humans can make mixed with Forerunner tech. I’m not saying that they are necessarily partly Forerunner tech (we haven’t heard that the MJOLNIR is, have we?), but that’s how they look. They look just that little bit alien, like the ship around them.

I personally think most of the Helmets look like garbage but I’m not going to say they don’t look very Halo. 343i is Halo and anything they create IS Halo, regardless of your opinions on the matter. I believe it was mentioned by one of the 343i people that they wanted to have their own different art design, hence the new look Covenant and armor options. I don’t have a problem with it, even if I think it looks ridiculous.
Yeah Hayabusa, was a radical design as well especially compared to the other armour but the so was Gungnir Reach helmet and both have been ones for notice of their radical design. And I don’t see them as traditional halo helmet design. I don’t mind the idea that they are infinity specific like UNSC/Forerunner but if there is no reason to it it doesn’t seem to fit…
I don’t have a problem with it per se, or the fact 343i wants to make it their own game but even so there are some things like armour that make people note what game they are playing by distinguishing it from others. And that’s what i’m saying it’s not bad but the armour seems to fit into other games better than halo (such as Mass Effect/Crysis).
I personally like these more than past Halos
> Yes because Hayabasu TOTALLY fit into Halo 3.
It didn’t and neither do a lot of these new ones for H4.
I think they look Halo, just not like any helmet I would want. I guess that makes the choice for how to customize my spartan much easier than loving every helmet and not being able to decide.
Halo is just getting a new art style. 343 isn’t making their games like how Bungie did, and are changing everything to show it.
I like the new armor, and I think FOTUS is supposed to look forerunner/promethean mixed with UNSC…
Only problem I have is the spartan ops last part when they run in, they just remind me of idk toys? haha Anyway I think you should really get used to it. Do you think that rogue and scout didn’t look like Halo because they weren’t Mark V or VI?
> I like them, i really like the soldier helmet as well as the operator
Me too, the soldier helmet is my favorite of all the helmets I’ve seen so far. Aside from chiefs helmet.

Meh, I’m just going to use the old Mark 6 helmet once I unlock it. If other people want to look silly then so be it.
I’m personally enjoying the variety, though I hope more prominent visor-ed helmets appear in game. It makes perfect sense to have a smaller visor (what with that being the weakest part of the helmet) but I really enjoy helmets like Security and EVA, so hopefully we’ll see some more in that vein soon.
I have a question.
Prime and Recruit? Are they different armors?
The only one that seems like it definitely came from another game is the locust helmet. It looks like a helmet worn by theron guards in gears of war.
The Helmets don’t suit Halo. They don’t have a functional military look. They come across as leftover concept art from Gundam Wing. They are ugly.
