The Energy Sword in the Halo 5: Guardians Arena Multiplayer Beta looked amazing; it had that bright, vibrant look that made it look highly formidable and just, scary. You could almost feel the intensity of the plasma…
Yet for some reason, in the Warzone build it looks so dull and…well, weak.
Agreed. The beta sword looked amazing. Some people had the problem of it being a bit too bright for gameplay reasons but I honestly thought it looked fine. The Prophet’s Bane on the other hand was way too bright though.
Yeah I would say that it’s probably because of the feedback that the sword was too bright in the beta. I like both versions. The newer Warzone one reminds me of the old halo 3 sword though.

In a note unrelated to this post, the Prophet’s Bane is very bright to offset the speed boost you gain from using it.
Actually, the beta sword was as bright as it’s ever been. Too bright, honestly. Halo 2 Halo 3 Reach Halo 4 Halo 2A Halo 5
Halo 4 and 2A’s have bright auras as well, but they’re not blindingly bright like the Halo 5 beta’s sword. And at the above, none of that changed. The dimmer lighting just makes it seem that way.

I liked the brightness.like OP said, i really felt the plasma’s intensity.
I can’t remember how the sword texture animated from the beta, but from the looks of the stills I like the new ‘dimmed’ look because it’s easier to see more of the plasma flowing through the sword. I’d prefer to see that than have a brighter sword that drains out the details.

It was far too too bright. Most feedback was that when you ran around, you only saw the sword, and it was true. You couldn’t hide with it, at all. Plus, running around in Midship with it on, was BLINDING. I’m glad they toned it down a bit.

And most people don’t seem to get that the energy sword in the beta was the Prophet’s Bane and not the normal energy sword, which this one is. It was stated before that its brightness was an intended, minor balancing factor due to its buffs.
The Beta energy sword was never the ‘warzone’ energy sword. They are separate weapons.
I definitely like both swords as some have stated. Likewise, I’m sure it was because it was “brighter”. Though it didn’t bother me and I usually run a higher brightness in general. Prophets Bane was awesome too. I had gotten used to the speed boost in the beta and then grabbed the Energy Sword when they rotated maps and it threw me off lol.
