So I am wondering if anybody can explain how the Trueskill works cause a couple of months ago it felt like I was winning almost every game, and when I wasn’t I was still getting a high K/D ratio like 4.0 or more. Obviously, there are games here and there where I just tank but overall it was pretty steady good games.
Fastforward to today and the last month or so. All of a sudden, I am just getting my butt kicked. I feel like I am incapable of landing any good headshots and I never feel like I’m going to get a kill when I find somebody anymore. Its reversed from before so now the good game is the exception and the bad games are becoming more and more frequent.
Is this all a result of the TrueSkill system? Thats what I was thinking cause I was playing well and then all of a sudden I started playing people who would beat me all the time. If that is TrueSkill, why is the transition SO abrupt? Any thoughts?
Trueskill has always been near-nonexistent in Reach.
Have you been playing solo? Because when I’m not in a party (which is most of the time), I can do great individually, but my team doesn’t.
It hasnt mattered if I’m in a party as much as one would think. I play with randoms mostly but my individual performance isn’t changing that much.

i dont care for ranks. most people just spawn kill now so hard to tell who is even a legit player anymore. but i know im legit. i dont rely on spawn trapping BS.

So am I. Last week, I had a match where in a 2v4 in team snipes i went 24/17 (not bad considering), and the day after I went 43/13 in a 2v4.
Now I can’t even get one kill. I did a 1v1 the other day (in which I usually win) and lost something like 25 to my 8.
I dunno, looks like we’re both in a massive slump.

OP you are probably just out of practice. If i go a week without playing i pretty much cant use the pistol any more. Why do you think MLG guys play 14 hours a day around tournament time.

No, not at all. I match players I really shouldn’t be at all times. Players miles above or miles below my skill. Sometimes against one good player, with the other 3 teammates of his being a slumber party.
Reach matchmaking does not work. At all. Ever.

I would beg to differ Sitri. If I turn on the “skill” option in my preferences I get matched up with opponents of equal skill. I’m not saying that because that is what it’s supposed to do, I’m saying that because that is what it does do.
yeah reach has been the same for me since day one: decimating everything and everyone. You’d think after 2 years that I’d finally start seeing some form of competition or tough matches but it’s pretty much a cakewalk all the time. Even some of the more ‘challenging’ players I’ve gone against usually don’t offer much for me.
Nothing has changed yet and I doubt it will with reach’s lax trueskill. Even in halo 3 social slayer I actually get put against players close to my skill level lol.
I think it’s just a sudden influx of campers. I’ve noticed that nearly every game I lose, I lose because the other team thinks it’s fun to sit around corners with swords and shotguns.
Maybe someone created a guild based on camping and it became hugely popular?
Maybe the news about the release of Halo 4 has caused people to not care that the Halo: Reach playlists go to hell?
I dunno…
