What the delay means for halo infinite

So halo infinite has been delayed to 2021. I’m surprised, and disappointed, but I do think it is probably for the best. But it just raises more questions.

Will the Seriex X launch on time? So far they are saying yes, but it seems very risky to launch the series X without a major exclusive.

Will Halo Infinite still be available on the xbox one? I sure hope so, I do not want to have to spend 500+ to play the game.

When exactly is the new release date? At least what quarter? Before we had Q4 2020, now just 2021… I personally think it will be Q1, maybe around March, but I could easily see them going for the usual holiday period.

Will there now be a beta / flighting program?

Will we get a multiplayer demo, or any news, any time soon?

What do you guys think? Let me know below.

I think we will most likely see Halo Infinite coming out on April 2021. That is the perfect date for Halo Infinite to come out on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC. I also think that we will get some Halo Infinite news later this year. I will say November 2020 or December 2020, that’s where we can get some news from the new Halo video game especially when it comes to the Halo Infinite campaign and multiplayer levels.

If Brad Sams article on Thurrot is anything to go by (as well as general sentiment in the community) then 343i still have some major hurdles to overcome to get this 100% right, so what’s the point in rushing for March.
Personally I say give them another year, with a MP Beta in summer 2021. But they really need to pull this out of the bag. I’m so fed up of getting hyped after a trailer (or marketing) build up only to be let down. I think they should drop Xbox One support as well. Target the new consoles, give us all the next gen bells and whistles and the wow factor. I understand those who don’t want to spend 500+ on a new console, but there’s likely to be a cheaper option in Lockhart and if Halo Infinite is a 10 year platform then Xbox One support will be dropped at some point anyway.

As for Series X launch, it sucks not launching with Halo, so I guess MS will have to rely on boosting graphics on older titles coupled with game pass and multi-plats. But it doesn’t make sense to hold back the hardware launch, in my opinion.

Hopefully if there is a beta, it will be before summer. I agree, I was hyped for the fall, and now I just kind of feel meh about the game. I honestly would rather have a good current gen game for about 60$ so I hope they keep it as an option. And when series x prices drop, I may eventually switch over. I do think the series x will still launch this fall, but it is gonna fail without any launch title

Nov will be launch. CE anniversary. 20 years or something like that.
No beta. :frowning:
More info will be leaked around dec.
Xbox will launch and fall hard without Halo.
Once halo does drop. Xbox will smash PS5.

Yeh I think the July demo sucked the hype out of a lot us . I think it looked fun gameplay wise and gave me that classic Halo vibes with some modern additions (which some don’t like, but I don’t mind). But looks wise it wasn’t impressive. Considering how long it’s taken to get here, I expected way more in that department.
An earlier beta would be nice though I agree. It would help get the hype up again.

I don’t see any news coming soon at all. I wouldn’t expect anything until the end of the year, if that. The only thing I’d expect is concept art, which isn’t news. Get ready for another drought

Since Multiplayer is Free to Play I think they might just release that first just to get people hyped about it, its really awkward that the Xbox Series X has not First Party Titles being released on it.

Still though we don’t know how long of a much needed extension they needed, could be 3 months or 6 or more.

The demo didn’t suck the hype out for me, but waiting 5 years and now knowing I’ll have to wait longer. Graphics are generally the fastest part of development, but I dont think that’s why it was delayed.

I check the release dates for movies coming out next year. There is one movie coming out on April 2021. Fast and Furious 9. I am very curious to see if 343 Industries and Microsoft want to release Halo Infinite on April 2021 especially with Fast and Furious 9 coming out on the same date. I also check the rest of the movies coming out in 2021. It’s going to be a very crowded place for movies coming out next year. We got the new Mortal Kombat movie coming out on January 2021. Venom 2, Morbius and Ghostbusters: Afterlife also coming out in 2021. We also got three movies from Marvel Studios coming out next year: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Eternals and the Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel. Top Gun: Maverick coming out on July 2021. And, the new Batman movie coming out on October 2021.

I’m really excited about venom 2 and the batman movie  adding halo infinite on that sounds like a good year on paper

Same here. I can’t wait to see Tom Hardy coming back as Eddie Brock/Venom in Venom 2. I am also looking forward to see Robert Pattinson playing as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming Batman movie. And, I am very excited to see Tom Holland coming back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Spider-Man: Far From Home Sequel

I think if they actually feel they can get it out in April (in a good state unlike the demo) then by all means aim for it. I’m still excited for Halo don’t get me wrong, but the demo probably didn’t make a good first impression on a lot of people, though hopefully with the delay they can fix the graphical issues (I personally had no major issues with gameplay other than stuff like the hexagons) and also maybe tweak the sounds (the weapons just sound soft).

The thing I would want with the delay is a flight/beta for both campaign and multiplayer. Let us get our hands on the game and give them feedback like the MCC is doing now. Also unlike MCC, I think the beta should not be closed and should be as open to as many people as possible.

Tbh, I think Microsoft should delay the launch of the series X. Sure there’s gamepass and I don’t deny it’s a good deal. However, game pass is also on PC and XB1, and unless there are some nice next gen games on it. there’s currently no reason to buy a Series X. That way, they can also get a few Halo bundles going. I’m currently playing flight simulator on PC and am loving it (I think 343 should really talk to the guys who made it for lighting), it’s actually one of the few things for this new generation that I see and actually am wowed by (from both sides). Hopefully, this allows the Series X to also launch with flight sim and some of the other exclusives like Forza.

Oh ok, I have seen a few people say april, and was curious why. That would be interesting if they shoot for the same date as a movie.

What does the delay mean for Infinite?
That’s easy, more time. Your welcome

Hopefully this improves the final product or make its better than we thought…
hopefully

Hype is dead, bad press galore. Intense community doubts. Singlehandedly killed Xbox Series X launch. 343i management will have to answer for that and probably some heads will roll… And then the game still needs a lot of work. Nope, can’t see it dropping before q3 2021, sorry guys.

Will save this post to humbly eat crow if proven wrong.

…not likely though.

idk but dealer gaming who has been accurate about xbox insider information even had xbox employees on his podcast like major nelson said in a video about the delay said he heard its out before June
