I’ve noticed a lot of people were disappointed with the Halo 5 Beta, saying it was “like call of duty in space,” but does that mean that in order to make a good Halo game you need to remain basic and primitive? I have created a short machinima based on my conception of what hard core Bungie fans think of 343 and Halo 5.

Please note that this is not my view of Halo 5, I have never played it so this is entirely based on what I have heard people say and game play footage I have seen.
Just watched the video, and it would be difficult for me to refute that I’ve heard a lot of “Just like CoD in space!!” I didn’t really like the controls in Halo 5’s multiplayer beta. I just couldn’t find a layout that worked. I think if the controls are tweaked, then a lot of people might change their minds about Halo 5. Talking to a few of the people in the lobbies during the beta confirmed that there were definitely others like me, that didn’t really dislike the actual game, just the way you interfaced with it.

I think the controls were changed to accommodate with the new aiming system. I think there would be more complaining if the aim button stayed the same while the aiming mechanic changed. Imagine Halo 5’s ADS with the original Halo controls. It would be a complete pain and would be rather obnoxious. So overall I think that if the controls remained unchanged while the ADS was added, there would likely be much more hate towards Halo 5.
Although I did like the fact that Halo had no ADS because it would cause all fully automatic weapons to be able to get kills from across the map, I think the previous Halo aiming system was superior in that regard because it brought the majority of all the Halo weapons to an even playing field and gave players reason to swap weapons for cross map kills.
