I’m not sure if many of you have noticed but there is a distinct button that does not have any significance in halo 5. The down button on the D-pad. I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what we could do with those two unused buttons. Just suggestions but maybe a weapon inspect or a taunt like in Battlefront and in Destiny. Or I thought a cool idea, however not practical could be that if you down on the D-pad your Spartan would actually go into the stance that you have set.
I know this isn’t practical for competitive gameplay or even most gameplay at all and it would slow the game down a lot and encourage people to not play but that’s why its just a suggestion. Maybe that idea could just be a custom game option and machinima option only, but at least then the button would have some use, even the up on the D-pad sends your location to everyone on your team. If there were to be a practical or at least good use for it which makes sense for this button, 343 could bring back the flashlight or the night vision from previous games.
I know it’s not a big deal I just wanna know what everyone thinks could be done with it, or if anything should be done with it, it just kind of irritated me knowing there is a button that isn’t being used

A weapon inspect would be neat, sometimes I really want to see my weapon skin up close and personal at better angles. They already have idle weapon animations for every gun so they could just trigger those instead of making brand new ones (would be nice to have new ones though).

I like this more than a taunt, or even a stance.
Isn’t it the ping button? Or is that another part of the D-Pad. I haven’t gotten to play in forever.

the blip for your team mates is up on the D-pad
Tapping up on the d-pad causes your radar to ping, and your gamertag starts flashing. Tapping down on the d-pad does absolutely nothing (at the moment).
