What should be the priority?

There’s a lot of discussions going on right now over what needs fixing/tweaking in Infinite. I realize the studio can tackle a lot of this simultaneously, but what does everyone think the most important thing to get right is?

Also, I know some of you will say coop or forge, but since we have an ETA of when to expect those I decided to leave them off the poll.

  • MnK/Controller aim balance
  • More maps
  • More playlists
  • Store prices
  • Cross core customization
  • Anti-cheat
  • Progression system
  • Other (specify in comments)

You missed off “Desync and server issues” and “Resolve melee/player collision” which should be priority alongside BTB, playlists and maps. Progression and cosmetics must be secondary to these basic gaming fundamentals.

Progression is the first thing they need to look at. (Aside from general bug fixes, network and game stability)

We need proper in-game stat trackers, leaderboards, and a free means of unlocking cosmetics for Mark VII via multiplayer through social ranks and/or commendations.

Cross-core compatibility will never be able to fully be added. While it’s true most armor pieces could fit both Mark VII and Mark V[b] those same armor pieces would NOT fit on Yoroi, Mark VI (if it happens) or the potentially real leaked Miner cores. The shape of these cores is too fundamentally different for the same armor attachments to be applied to them without not only clipping, but also floating pieces that aren’t connected to the armor at all.

Yoroi’s utility attachments all go on the waist because there’s nowhere on the hip they could actually go. It also has a much thicker, but flatter chest, so the chests for Mark VII and V[b] which are all designed in a V shape would just stick out floating in front of it.

Cross-core compatibility can only really be added for Coatings, Visor Colors, and Helmets. Everything else will just create issues as more diverse cores get added to the game, and creating an exception now for VII and V[b] would only cause more confusion later when you have to play “guess which pieces can actually go on which core” later. As it stands now, you will always know which cores are compatible with armor before you buy it.

You’re right, I did forget that. I had this feeling I was leaving something major out but couldn’t recall what it was.

Get in line…there are genuine priorities above your priorities! :joy::crazy_face:

Fix big team battle.

I intentionally left that off cause I’d be shocked if that wasn’t already a top priority and will most likely be fixed in the very near future.

Games shouldn’t be released until they are working. I vote for make play testers a hired position again. Stop asking ravid fanboys with short attention spans for feedback. Hire people who have a high percentage of Halo Completion.

They literally did exactly that lol

Fix Big Team Battle Mode so people can actually play the game mode reliably. As well as addressing as many crashing issues people are having that can be fixed.

I selected the ‘Other’ option.

All of these are priorities that absolutely need to happen, and my selection doesn’t indicate any feelings of insignificance towards them, but I believe that getting Forge and a working Custom Games browser in the hands of players is absolutely vital to the long-term success of this game on any scale.

I think strongly that they should take advantage of the Halo Insider program to get their work out in the wild in a strategic capacity, for data collection and hype-building purposes.

Did they forget to listen to them or something? What happened to the gameplay loop? Barely had to scavenge anything in campaign, there was so much ammo and safe hubs everywhere, big bright yellow glowing objectives like I’m an idiot, enemies that can be outsmarted by standing on top of a box…

That isn’t an issue with the gameplay loop lmao. But yeah the campaign was too easy, definitely a target for younger audiences

Other: Desync and connection issues

I’m not a technical wizard, but I imagine 343 needs to focus on stabilizing the servers and lowering the desync rate as much as possible. From there, they should have a more stable workbench to adjust and fix the other issues.

Definitely the random crashing on PC.

Crossplay options.
Store prices.
Servers.

My exact sentiments because they are all server/desync related issues. Save for player collision which was a design choice.

I think fixes to the game like servers and detection, shop, and then content. There will always be cheaters with PC players (idk how aim botting will be fun?). Need to find ways to report etc. (Well have to see/detect cheaters in game first before ban? I think that is how that works? someone correct or inform me). Mnk/controller if fine, This isn’t like a cod fps and halo’s history is built on the xbox. Plus Halo infinite already has the least ammount of aim assist in halo. (Do you want us to go back to halo 5?? jkjk I joke) Only issues I see with aiming is with sniping.

Game Performance, Fixing Instability/Crashes, and Server Netcode should defs be a priority… if stuff doesn’t work right then there’s no sense to stick around and play, progress or buy anything… After that, they should defs prioritize adding content and I mean ACTUAL content such as more game modes and maps…

As much as I despise challenges, fixing them is not a priority imo, because for me, I cannot really be bothered to complete them if the game isn’t working optimally or the challenge is too absurd to warrant grinding it for the reward offered, making it kind of moot…
