What should be in Halo Infinite collectors edition

I haven’t seen any of the Halo youtuber’s discuss this topic yet.Personally I would like a figure of Cortana as she is already the perfect size for a figure (at least in her hologram form), although I’m not a fan of the Halo 5’s Cortana design, personally I like the halo 4 design the best.
I did not like the Halo 5 steelbook at all. It was boring, and you can’t even really tell it’s from Halo. The Halo Wars steelbook looks amazing on the other hand, I bought it just to display on my shelf along with the halo reach figure stand. I personally think a minimalist design would work really well. Have the fan favorites Cortana, Arbiter, Cheif, and ODST troopers on one side, and the new enemy forces on the other for the steelbook.

What would you like to see in Halo Infinite’s collectors edition?

Nothing has been better than the Halo Reach mountain imo. I would like to see a Halo Ring collectors edition but I’m not too bothered, I won’t be buying Halo Infinite at launch. If I like what I see and decide to buy it I’ll try and buy a collectors edition at a later date.

I would love a Cortana statue. Although I think it’s kinda early to throw physical content wishes on the table, since we know next to nothing about the game-content itself.

I don’t know how easy it would be to package this, but I think it would be cool if it was a detailed statue of installation 07

I know, But the earlier we get to 343 the better. Plus we can get the ball rolling as to what people want and don’t want to see, as 343 has taking community feedback more seriously. Halo has always been my favorite gaming franchise. Still remember getting beat up for sneaking in my older brother’s room to play halo 1&2 on the OG Xbox. Just want some more cool halo related stuff to put on the shelf. Besides the MCC updates, their is some down time as far as halo content so why not talk about it for fun.

Have the ring slightly angled on a base have a Cortana figure sticking though the middle, and boom ya got a spicy collectors edition.

I’d like to see some sort of preorder bonus specifically for those who preorder the Legendary Edition. An in game unlock that allows you to stand out from everyone else like Halo Reach did with the orange flaming helmet.

now THIS is a very cool idea, with installation 7 around Cortana.

Defiantly would like to see this. I pre-ordered Halo Wars 2 (I know i’m garbage for pre-ordering) and it added 4 gold packs to H5 which I thought was neat. I don’t think it’s likely that they’ll add any special promotional armor (all though they did all the magnum skins late in H5’s life) I do recall a quote from 343 something along the lines of “it’s hard adding things to the game because of the game engine”. Whether this is a cop out, or true is up to you, I heard this on somewhere on YT from a halo Youtuber that has talked to 343 developers so take this with a grain of salt as this is a quote of a quote.

In halo 3 and I believe reach they essentially hard coded the maps to work with specific armor sets included at launch. Halo 4 might have had the same issue but might have found a work around or just did the extra work to include the sets with dlc.
Halo 5 obviously did not. They fixed it or else req packs just wouldn’t work. Infinite engine is just going to be Halo 5’s engine updated so it isn’t even an issue.

Wrong mate. The Halo Infinite engine is a new one built from scratch. The old Halo engine was called BLAM where as this new one is called the Slipspace Engine.
In short, a new engine = new possibilities. It removes the restrictions of the old tech.

OT: For a collectors edition, i would totally love to see a throwback to the old school legendary editions. Either a 1:1 scale replica of the new Chief helmet. That or a chief bust/statue with a Halo ring around him, with the posibility of turning on some swagga LED lights.

Can we get some reading material? Halsey’s Diary made the Halo Reach collectors edition one of the best, and the comic in the Halo Wars collectors was also really cool to have.
I found Halo 5s to be disappointing because it was an extremely complex and fragile Guardian figure which remains mostly unfinished after 4 years of attempts, and the Wikipedia pages of the main characters.

I think some sort of in game armor, helmet, weapon skin etc. something that you can only get by buying this edition. I know some people hate that but I think they should. As long as it’s cosmetic only stuff. Even if it’s just a some sort of emblem.

I don’t know what all should come with it honestly, but I do know that I want a PHYSICAL copy of the game!! with it  not this digital download garbage!! :rage:

Kind of, but not exactly. From a development perspective it doesn’t make sense to sit and re-write from absolutely everything scratch, that’s just a waste of development time, so there will be elements from the work done on Halo 5 and potentially older games in there. From what I understand of Slipspace, it has been re-written to surpass the limitations we have (and they have) endured of past games

First off, you’re not garbage for pre-ordering Halo Wars 2. Not sure what you meant by that. I do agree that I don’t expect to see anything new in Halo 5 but I’m hopefully we’ll get special armor chances and rare armor unlocks for certain achievements/milestones in Halo infinite.

If it’s confirmed to be on Zeta Halo, I’d like to see some sort of book written by the Forerunners regarding what they were doing on the ring. A statue of the ring itself would also be really cool, in my opinion.

I think a Mark VI helmet like the T-51 helmet from Fallout would be nice to collect. As for an actual pre order bonus, I think we should either have an exclusive armor set or code to redeem any piece of armor in the game.

Something representative of the campaign. Without knowing much about the game it’s hard to give ideas, but I would love to add a Halo ring statue to my collection.

From a pure collection standpoint I would rather have the new Chief helmet included in the legendary edition, just as it was with Halo 3. Other bonuses such as exclusive cosmetics only available via the legendary edition would also be nice.

Thank you guys for your feedback! Another question I wanted to ask is what do you think is a fair price point for your collectors idea and what quality do you expect material-wise? I don’t want another fallout Dark Nuka Rum/canvas bag fiasco (although I doubt 343 could mess up anywhere near as bad). In my CE’s idea I said I wanted a Cortana statue(preferably made of glass to have a blue LED shine though her) figure and later I stole the idea from Golden Ranger to add the Ring around her.
For the 1st teir I would expect a steelbook/w season pass/packs for 85$.
For the 2nd teir I would add the cortana statue w LED base for 130$
And for the highest tier I would add a high quality ring for 220$ And a unique package box.
Whats a reasonable price to you?

Editing my post because I thought I was in a different thread… lol, leaving my original response in the spoiler because I think it’s good information sharing.

Looking back on all the Collector’s Editions, I would say I found $150 to be the best price point. Halo 3 and Halo: Reach both came with statues, reading material, and bonus content. As well as the Legendary Flames for Halo: Reach. I think those were the most bang for my buck and I am very happy with those purchases still.

One thing I loved about Halo 5’s Collector’s Edition was the early physical release and inclusion of the digital code. The game was released a week before the game’s launch, and with the code I was able to play the game at midnight a week later as well as have my physical goodies. I hope Halo Infinite takes all the pieces from these games releases for their Collector’s Editions. These are the best parts of all the Collector’s Editions in my opinion.

Halo 2’s was great. I can’t even remember the price but I watched that DVD probably 100+ times. It might have been just a preorder bonus actually.

I think Halo 3 and Halo: Reach were $150 (for the Legendary Edition), and I thought that was completely reasonable for what we got. Those might be my favorite Collector’s Editions for both the amount of stuff and price point.

Halo 4’s was cheaper I’m pretty sure. No statue but it came with the Season Pass and some booklet stuff, as well as in game cosmetics like Halo: Reach. I think it was the same price as just buying the game and Season Pass, maybe $10 more.

Halo 5’s was by far the most expensive at $250, and unfortunately the one I looked through the least. I’m pretty sure I haven’t laid eyes on those statues or its contents since release. That probably says more about me though. It did come with a digital code to install the game before 10/25/15, and was actually released before that date. I appreciated that because I got my physical goodies but got to play right at midnight. I hope the same is done with Halo Infinite.

In summary, I think $150 was the most fair. Probably TMI but I wanted you to have plenty of info if it helped.
