Which armor, helmet, and colors would I need to give a good emulation of Samus? Or is there no combo that really works?
No need for an exact replication of the Varia Suit. Just something that makes you think “Metroid”.
Default Tracer armor, CQB helmet. Orange and green colors, with some kind of green visor. Don’t forget to set it to a female Spartan

Oh well, a Dynast helmet works too. And for that extra Metroidy touch you can also use the Runes emblem, because it sorta looks like the Metroid logo
I’ll have to try out Nate’s suggestions next time I get on. There were also quite a number of people saying that Vale’s armor sort of resembled Samus (see link below). Sadly the color customization we have is too limited to give us anything resembling Samus’ colors. Unless you were to try different Power Suit color schemes (like Phazon Suit, Fusion Suit, etc).

Lazy link. I never thought of Copperhead, but now that you mention it, I can see the resemblance with it, especially in the helmet. But not so much in the armor without that recoloring
There are a couple of armor combinations out there to cosplay as samus, the armors I like using is the copperhead helmet and interceptor body. The body armor though has to be the Rictus varient. Colors rust and Ooze. Visor would be flood. Mm other helmets I’d use are the CQB, maybe anubis, and maybe defender. Other armors I’d use are the armors with the roundish shoulders like tracer and Athlon. If you want emblems I’d go for the runes emblem or the Splycer HCS emblem…
