What’s the point of 343i extending the Halo Infinite campaign? I don’t know much about game development and I feel like studios are mostly making money on online multiplayer.
I’m worried about the possibility that 343i won’t keep its ten-years plan for Halo Infinite and that we end up with a lot of unanswered questions.
I have a feeling they will keep their 10 year plan, but we’ll have to have read 5 different books to understand what Campaign DLC gets released.
Nahh.
We’ll need to read books for the first few maybe at most but by the end it’ll all be new stuff probably.
I am gonna go ahead and assume that each campaign DLC package is going to come with exclusive season stuff relating to that package, and store drops the same way. So although it won’t be directly monetized, as in $ for missions, they’ll make up the dough quick enough .
I’m actually rooting that 343 scrap their 10 year plan and make halo 7 sooner than later. I want them to rediscover halo from the roots so that they can make a game that aligns better with halo 3 and 5. I was really excited for infinite but it’s just not doing it for me. So now Im searching for another title
I’m intrigued where they might go with the endless. If time manipulation truly is a thing, perhaps we might be able to harness that power at one point or another and travel to historic moments or untold stories as DLC expansions.
I’m still amazed at how much people think time travel is a possible thing in Halo !
I made a topic about that :

I’m really tired of the ‘needing to read the books’ meme. The game stories were just bad, full stop. It had nothing to do with needing to read the books. The books don’t make halo 5 any better, if anything, halo 5 made them worse in the same way Hunt the Truth seems worse now that h5 exists.
Sadly because you can make people buy a set of armor for 1/3 of the cost of the campaign, and convince them to do this over and over…yeah.
Presumably the point would be to answer those questions.
343 has a bad habbit of setting up new plots then throwing them under the buss in their next release though.
Yeah Halo Infintie give us more question than answer.
343 say the next DLC campaign won’t happen before 2025, so 2026 or 2027 lol. I’m sure they will focus on the endless and continue what they start these time, but the next Halo 7 Eternal will certainly forget them and start something totally new
My only hope for the story is on the books, we can’t count on the games since Halo 5 for that
Honestly Destiny has been surviving entirely because of its quarterly campaign expansions. The just added the first new PvP map in over two years a month or two ago, the PvP side has barely any support whatsoever.
Considering how well regarded the Campaign in Infinite was compared to the Multiplayer, I couldn’t be more excited at the prospect of more Campaign in the future. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the big advancements multiplayer happen in line with Campaign expansion releases, that’s likely when we will see multiple new weapons and vehicles added to multiplayer rotation, as they will want these kinds of things in the Campaign expansions to further entice players (the Falcon anyone?)
