Although i do have fun in the MP and i do enjoy it it is also the most frustrating MP of any Halo game. Allow me to explain what ruins the gameplay experience for me in MP.
- Bulletmagentism vs Aim assist
I hate the bulletmagnetism in Halo 5 and i also hate the aim assist in Halo 5 i prefer having a stronger aim assist over a strong bullet magnetism because with aim assist i know where im shooting and when my bullets should hit my target. With the bulletmagnetism as it works in Halo 5 it seems to be so random. I never know when i’m gonna hit my target in Halo 5 sometimes i aim directly at my opponent and my shots miss then a little bit later i miss, or atleast i should, and i hit my target because bulletmagnetism. It is just incredibly annoying to be killed because bulletmagnetism even works around corners. - The vehicle gameplay
The vehicle gameplay is a joke in Halo 5, most vehicles are armored with paper and can be killed by literally everything ( i mean seriously in which world can a Assault RIfle damage an actual tank or worse destroy it ) and to top it off some of the vehicles have been equipped with a physics engine that defies every common sense. The ghost is a prime example for this as is the warthog. The ghost features the worst physics in any Halo game, i flipped my ghost because i splattered someone with boost activated and because i flipped i immedieatly lost my ghost, thx physics. The other end is the warthog that features springs that could be used as a suspension for the scorpion judging from how jumpy the warthog can be in Halo 5, a 4 times barrel roll after turning is nothing uncommon in Halo 5 or the Wraith one of my personal favourites in this category is unable to glide over the smallest edges despite being a hovertank and floating ( atleast visually ) a few inches above ground. - The Performance
This may suprise a lot of people as Halo 5 offers 60fps almost all the time, but because it offers 60fps and advertised itself as a SUPER smooth running shooter i’m just more disappointed when i get screen freezes in warzone when one of my teammates leaves ( i would really like to know why the hell i get a 1 second freeze when my teammate leaves the game ). The biggest performance issue in halo 5 is for me atleast the constant server bugs, kicks from games, not loading reqs, buggy qeues and brocken mute mechanics. While some of these are understandable ( server outages can happen ) they do impact my overall experience. - The Balance
The Balance in Halo 5 is horrible at times, especially in warzone assault which features some of the worst spawn points ever. While i do enjoy warzone assault i just as often get enraged at the stupidity of the spawns. Another balance issue is the matchmaking in arena, how can 343i call this a oompetetive playlist if i’m fighting teams atleast 1 or 2 grades above my rank ( i’m mostly gold 2 or 3 and i often fight with bronze or silver players against platin teams …). - The Maps and the map rotation
For starters i don’t like most Halo 5 maps i can’t think of even one map out of my head that i really like. For starters i’m serioulsy disappointed with the map variety in Halo 5, in arena even more so. Most arena maps are slight variations of one another and most of those maps aren’t even really good, all generic looking, boring layout and nothing really impressive or unique about them. In warzone we get a similar picture although the amount of maps is even lower atleast in warzone there are no recolored variants as they are being used in arena (cough midship ). The issue in warzone lies somewhere else, it’s the bases/garage/outposts that look the same everywhere not even a hint of variation, this makes the warzone maps although being quite different from each other, still feel the same. The next point is the map rotation in arena i have to be extremely lucky to play a round on plaza or overgrowth. Most of the time i play on one of the midship versions that are in the rotation and i don’t like midship. The fact that i don’t like that map makes the missing map rotation even worse for me as i feel like 8/10 games is on one of the midship versions. - The gamemodes and playlists
I want my King of the Hill and CTF for BTB and the other playlists, i also want my oddball and all those other modes that i loved in Halo 3. I still can’t believe how they didn’t implement these in Halo 5. Now i get to choose between slayer and stronghold in BTB and literally die because of the amount of choices in gamemodes. Now we get one or two playlists every few weeks added permanently and 1or 2 playlists for a few days a time, by the way i still don’t get why they delete those playlists after a few days. This makes the lack of gamemodes even worse in my opinion, because no matter what playlist you join ( except griffball and the warzone playlists ) you practically end up with slayer and 1 oder 2 other gametypes depending on you playlist.
To sum it up i can only play a few games at a time in Halo 5 because i either get frustrated because my ghost spun itself to death or i get bored because of the lack of variety, these issues are what ruin Halo 5 for me and i’m solely disappointed with the way 343i handled Halo 5 and it’s multiplayer. I don’t think i need to mention the campaign at this point because most of us know that it was quite bad to say the least. And to those of you who will tell me to play Halo 3 or Reach if i don’t like Halo 5 : I WANT TO LIKE HALO 5 But 343i and the game itself are making it really really REALLY hard for me to do so.
