(Sorry about the bad grammar in topic, space wasnt enough) Anyway, I have always wondered what the Requiem looks like without the metallic shell obstructing the planet inside. Like, we never seen the “planet” of Requiem in full, only its metallic covering.
It’d just look like a normal planet, maybe similar to Earth and Reach
> It’d just look like a normal planet, maybe similar to Earth and Reach
I know that…I mean what EXACTLY would it look like? Like, if we could see an official globe of Requiem, in which you could take off the metallic shell to reveal the planet inside, what would it look like?

If you look at this trailer, you see a planet without a metal shell (first piece of concept art), I’d say this is what it looks like without the shell
I thought all the land masses and seas of Requiem were along the inside of the metal shell (think like a Halo ring, but an entire sphere) with an artificial sunlight system in its center.
I was always under the impression that the metallic shell IS Requiem. Kinda like the Halo rings, just a full sphere instead. So basically, without the ‘shell’ there would not be a Requiem.

We had the same thought at the same time lol

No, its not, though the shield world from Halo Wars is like that, except the outer shell is also a planet.

Wasn’t the outer shell of Requiem just a ceiling covering it’s natural terrasphere? So without the shell, I’m pretty sure that Requiem would look like a normal planet.

It would if you look at the Ju 'Mdama Terminal you can see the hologram of Requiem has a a shell and a inner planet

Requiem, as well, is a Forerunner shield world. In fact, it’s formal designation is “Shield World 0001”, so it may even be the very first of the shield worlds.

Did a quick look up on the Halopedia.

> The most resilient shield installation built by the Forerunners, Requiem consisted of multiple concentric planetary shells enclosed within one another, sealed inside an enormous outer shell. The outermost surface was an armored covering enveloping the second shell, which was oriented like that of a planet and housed the world’s primary terrestrial environment. Requiem’s core was located below this planetary surface, and had a surface reverse to that of the terrestrial exterior, similar to a miniaturized Dyson shell.
>
> Requiem’s outer surface was a thick metallic shell lacking a terraformed surface and covered in patterns and layers of machinery and overlapping armor plating. The surface was also covered in a number of lights; some of these formations took on geometric patterns, such as circular orientations or arrays of lines. Amongst its complement of luminous formations were two enormous symbols; the Eld, (which represents the Mantle), as well as the Reclaimer glyph. Though the full extent of the technology of the mechanical exterior shell has not been documented, it is known that as a type of shield world, it was capable of protecting its interior from the effects of the activation of the Halo Array.
>
> The interior of the facility was unique relative to the other known shield worlds; rather than housing an artificial star at its center, surrounded by a habitable inner surface, the exterior shell housed additional layered shells, the outermost of which had an environment resembling a terrestrial planet. Another important feature was that immediately above the cloud layer of the protected second layer, the interior surface of the protective shell was visible. This was demonstrated by the sky being dominated by the machinery above it, with large, vertical structures reaching down to the surface below. Numerous small artificial stars provided illumination for Requiem’s interior.
>
> The innermost miniature Dyson shell housed the core of Requiem, which was where the Didact’s Cryptum was situated. The platform which housed the Cryptum was suspended in the very center of the sphere and was protected by a shield emitted by two adjacent pylons located on opposing sides on the surface of the inner sphere. Two enormous energy conduits perpendicular to one another ran between the pylons across the entire inner surface. The surface in the inner shell mostly consisted of rocky desert landscape dense with prominent arrangements of light indicating the presence of large-scale structures.
Sounds not all that much different from Earth, really, just instead of a core of molten rock, there is a hollow space with the Didact’s Cryptum, and a habitable surface.
So, much like, say, a jawbreaker, removing the outer shell would just reveal another, and another, until you get to a hollow center.

Actually, Requiem is what is called a Dysons Sphere. A Dysons Sphere is an enormous structure that completely surrounds the systems star. The inside walls of the structure were terraformed to allow for massive populations. The “planetoid” in the center is actually the star.
Sorry, you gents beat me to it.

343 described it like this just instead of a sun in the middle there is a planet it was sometime before launch I remember reading that

Requiem isn’t a Dyson Sphere though, and it’s different from most other shield worlds.
Requiem has multiple layers. The first one is the armored shell that armors the world from any unauthorized opponents. This shell is pretty much a ceiling that covers a terrestrial world beneath it, so it is pretty much a miniaturized Dyson Sphere. Beneath the shell, a fully habitable planet serves as Requiem’s main section. However, underneath the hollow grounds of the terrestrial planet is a full-fledged Dyson Sphere that serves as a core for the shield-world. This was where the Didact’s Cryptum was located. (Which could also be considered a “layer”)
However, most Shield Worlds are enormous Dyson-Spheres that have artificial stars in the dead center. While Requiem may have artificial stars in it, it has multiple of them due to the worlds layered format. Most Shield Worlds only have one layer, which could be compared to an inverted planet.
Requiem is like a Russian nesting doll. It was obvious from the Game that it was that way, and Silentium reinforces that. There is no star at the center, the game also proves that, as the core is the Didact’s Cryptum and that tiny space around it.
> We follow Mantle’s Approach through the outer shell and then through fifty kilometers of cold, inactive layers, past great columnar supports and archways visible in the stray beams of sentinels, emplacements where weapons were to be mounted by the thousands, but which stand only as stripped-down shadows … Through outrushing clouds of gas … Into more active layers, lit in cold blues and greens. Deeper still, hundreds of kilometers. I do not yet see a chance to board Mantle’s Approach. Only now does Requiem’s long-forgotten beauty greet me. Here, for thousands of kilometers on all sides, off into silvery-green haze, spreads a wide, high-ceilinged vista, illuminated by tiny sunlets flaring like brilliant green flowers. Sculptured mountain ranges sparkle with crystalline chunks of mineral-hard ice, awaiting heat to create another sanctuary for Lifeworker specimens.

Requiem is 10,787 km i diameter
It is the only shield world we know of that is a nesting doll type. The rest are like Shield 0459 from Halo Wars, as the official time line says that 0459 is the latest in a series of shield worlds discovered by the Covenant.
Shield 0459 is only 2,875 km in diameter
Shield 006 is an actual dyson sphere with a diameter of 2 A.U. with a Forerunner created start at the center. It appears to be a one-off creation as it was not finished by the end of the war, Terminals support that it would need 67 more years to finish. And it was meant to be their new Capital.
Requiem is a planet. Basically a normal planet, except the core is hollowed out.
Built around the planet is a massive metal shell, with towers descending toward the planetary surface. An artificial lighting system is used from this metallic shell.
Its a dyson sphere, except there is a planet in the center instead of a star.

Wrong, did you even read the quote I posted?
The Core itself is hollow. There are multiple levels some are entirely machine, some are habitable. WE only visited two out of the many layers of the planet.
Could you please state where it says 67 years to finish??? Please? Please? Please?
Requiem is completely artificial though I’m pretty sure.
