What reqs are complete trash and expendable? I’ve been clearing out my inventory recently and need a little bit more advice?
If you’re going to sell reqs, just sell the ones you don’t use. I prefer to keep 50 or so of the stuff I use and 10-20 of the stuff I don’t. Except the river of light. I only have one of those and sell them instantly.
I usually sell some vehicles such as Mongoose, Gungoose, Warthog without turrets, etc. And some weapons that I never use…
Mongoose… #1 on the list. Scouthog #2. I keep an inventory of just about all the weapons. If I get over 100 i get rid of the extras… lol.

What the first person below you said. I just trash useless weapons I know I wont use in warzone. or elbems that are weird or ugly.
If you are talking about REQs for Warzone, these are keepers and I will explain why.
-Boltshot Variants: These burst shot homing projectile pistol variants are good for the earlier rounds of Warzone Firefight, and learning how to use them in Warzone Firefight will give you an edge in the earlier rounds if you aren’t good at firing the magnum from long distances and will prepare you for the Campaign on Legendary Difficulty.
-Scout Warthog Variants: These can serve a purpose in Warzone Firefight for Round 1 and sometimes round 2. They are a Level 1 Energy REQ, and can provide you with a way to earn big points on maps like Urban and Temple. Do be careful though and keep your teammates in mind.
-Covenant Carbine Variants: The carbine variants are great if you can accurately fire while spamming that fire button. The base Carbine is a Level 2 REQ, and can be useful if you stockpile these for games where mid-range precision is needed. The Blood of Suban, a Level 4 variant is just amazing, working like the Needle Rifle in Reach, minus causing your AI opponents to jump when firing.
-Railgun Variants: Railguns are fantastic for Ghosts, Hunters, and Banshees in Warzone Firefight. They will put a good dent into such enemies, and The Arclight is really powerful, usually killing a Ghost or Banshee in one hit if it is not a Temple variant.
-Spartan Laser Variants: Simply put, if it flys, it dies, and the Spartan Laser variants keep true to that saying.
-Safeguard Sentinel Beam: This weapon is great for a Level 3 REQ. It eats through vehicles, hunters, and promethians pretty well, and has a long firing range, making it a scopeless Focus Rifle, allowing you to hit enemies pretty accurately from long distances.
-Binary Rifle Variants: Simply Put, save these for the Warden Eternal fights in Warzone Firefight and try to aim for the weakspot on his back. If you cannot (If he won’t turn around), aim for his face. You can melt a decent amount of health off of him if done properly with this weapon variant, especially with the Twin Jewels of Metherillian.
-Ad Victorium: This rocket launcher fires three rockets when fired which can be used for different purposes depending on what distance it is fired from. Up close, it will deal massive damage to a larger target (Like a Boss), or if fired from a distance can be used for crowd control.
-SPNKr EX Rocket Launcher: This rocket launcher is meant for larger targets and heavily armored flying vehicles and does a fantastic job dealing good damage to them if not destroying them.
-Incineration Cannon and Heartseeker: These two Incineration Cannon variants are simply very powerful while allowing you to charge up, fire quick and take cover after firing.
-ONI Chaingun Turret: These are great for destroying enemy flying units (Banshees and Phaetons) as well as for killing most promethian enemies in Warzone Firefight
-Wasp (Base and ONI variants): If you can stay on the move while firing from the skies, you will be able to efficently use the Wasp to take out enemy forces.
-Mantis Variants: A Mantis generally speaking is pretty good to somebody with a sharp eye. Keep your turret from overheating, utilize your Missiles as needed, stomp enemies that run up to your Mantis (Save Suicide Grunts, keep them away), and these are worth keeping.
-Scorpion Tank Variants: Once again, to somebody with a keen eye, the Scorpion Tank variants are great REQs to hold onto. Being heavily armored, you can do a good amount of damage with one of these, and if you have ‘hawk eyes’, you can snipe with it at long distances or deal massive damage to Warzone Bosses without them firing back.
-Phaeton Helios: This is probably the best flying vehicle REQ to have due to heavy armor and damage output. An amazing REQ to hold onto for a ‘rainy day’ game.
-Anti-Air Wraith: A Wraith with an aimable set of Fuel Rod Cannons attached to it and a shielded cockpit for the turret seat makes for a good REQ. Destroys enemy aircraft easily, as well as working well for crowd control with regular enemies.
Now in my opinion, the following REQs are trash and expendable:
-Plasma Pistol variants: Unless you are playing alot of Regular Warzone and not Warzone Firefight, these are not worth holding on to. A well placed Splinter Grenade can do the job this Plasma Pistol can do.
-River of Light: This burst fire Incineration Cannon due to the way it works leaves you out in the open enough for you to either be sniped or attacked in kind by a Warzone Boss.
-Storm Rifle variants: When the enemy spawns in at a large number in Warzone Firefight, these things are kind of useless. The Supressor variants as well as the Assualt Rifle are more effective from my experiences than any Storm Rifle Variant
-Non Scout Warthog Variants: Unless you play variants of Warzone with friends, I find these to be useless as half the time, you can honk for somebody to get into the gunner seat and they will not, and even when they do, they randomly drop out of it, leaving you defenseless flying through a field of enemies.
-Hannibal Wasp: Quite Frankly, getting the 200 RP out of it is better than using it. You have to charge up your base attack, and the alt fire leaves electric mines on the ground. Not to mention for a Hannibal variant, it’s armor is really weak and can be shot down by an Arclight Railgun Round. You would be better off using a base or ONI Wasp.
-Needler variants: Unless you play the main variant of Warzone, these are useless for the same reason as the Storm Rifle variants.
-Mongoose and Gungoose variants: If you use these in Warzone, you will likely be sniped. If you use these in Warzone Firefight, you’ll be mowed down by large groups of enemies.
-Plasma Turret and Base Chaingun Turret: These don’t do enough damage to justify slowing down your mobility to carry it, essentially leaving you as an open target.
Any other REQs kind of fall inbetween for me, but I do sell the Banshee variants as I do not care for Banshees, but that is more of a personal preference, as I have seen players do alot of damage with a Banshee in Warzone, and Warzone Firefight.
Everything that lizking10152011 said is dead-on IMO. I’ll even add on a few additions:
Keeper REQs:
-Any Mid-Tier Sniper rifle (Human, Beam, Binary): They add a bunch of awesome features that the base level rifles don’t have while still maintaining the same REQ-level cost. If you’re a decent shot but find yourself running out of ammo too fast, you’ll fall in love with these variants.
-Twin Jewels of Metherillian: If you’re not simply going after foot soldier kills and are focusing more on bosses and vehicles, this is the gun for you. You can destroy an enemy spartan-occupied phaeton with 2 well placed shots. It also has enough stopping power to drop a banshee out of it’s boost (and also damage it big time). How awesome is that?
-H2 Beam Rifle Alpha: IMO the most underrated gun in Warzone. This qualifies as a Mid-Tier Sniper but it’s so good of a gun that I have to give it it’s own description. This amazing sniper gives you extra ammo that the regular H2 Beam rifle doesn’t, has a better heat sink that won’t overheat immediately, AND has the ability to shoot through multiple targets in a row (Snipeltaneous medal, here I come!)
-SPNKr EM: This big guy can not only lock onto air AND ground vehicle targets, it has 4 rockets in one tube so that in the unlikely scenario that you’re first two rockets don’t kill whatever you’re shooting at, you got two more to make sure they’re more deader. Pick this one over the regular SPNKr Rocket Launcher every time.
-White Scar: If you’re crafty enough, this gun is ballin’. Set traps in corners so that if a enemy spartan is dug in their base like an Alabama tick, you can lure them out with primary weapon fire then have them eat a needle sandwich. After all, you ain’t got time to bleed.
Garbage REQs:
-Arrow of Time: Hate this gun. Oh, it adds 2 extra bullets so you have 6 shots per clip? Nope, don’t care. The kick-back you get from it is a huge turn-off compared to amount of REQ points it costs. Plus, you get a ton of points by selling it. Good Riddance.
-Krith’s Left Hand: Meh. This legendary beam rifle isn’t really everything it’s cropped up to be. It has decent power against vehicles but there’s better choices. The triple-shot feature is neat and all, but it doesn’t make you a decent sniper. It’s not “buttery” enough for the shots to register, and headshot-ing with it is a pain with the amount of kick-back.
-H2 Beam Rifle Delta: I’m guessing you’re surprised this is on here. Well, the singularity feature is good and all but again, there’s better choices for that (Void’s Tear) and this does NOT disable vehicles. I can only see this being efficiently used during a farming Warzone match where your team has the enemy team clumped up in their base and you need to damage multiple spartans in a row. WZFF make the extra features on this gun pretty useless, too…unless you like watching the ridiculous rag-doll physics of Grunts and Elites when you shoot them with it.
-Echidna: I would say this is a good gun in regular Warzone, but it’s vastly overshadowed by a simple plasma pistol. Sure it disables vehicles, but if you’re trying to kill it then use a regular or mid-tier Hydra. If you’re trying to take it over, use a plasma pistol. There is no “both” option. All you end up accomplishing is annoying the enemy, making yourself a target, and wasting a bunch of extra REQs on something you could pick up for half the points.
-Appetite for Destruction: Not too bad with it’s firing rate and extra ammo, but there’s wayyyy too many better-suited choices for a REQ 5 gun. Don’t waste your time or points. Sell it.
-Didact’s Signet: REQ 5? No thanks. You don’t need to bounce off walls. Use grenades. Sell it and get 200 points back. Also, a Blaze of Glory is REQ 4…and also bae.
-Berserker’s Claw & Wicked Grasp: You will never use these guns. I guarantee it. Sell.

I sell all of them but I also don’t play warzone. lol get it? Because you don’t need them if you don’t use them? haha. Ignore me.

I easily rack up 10 + kills with the Hunter Claws, during WZ Assault I got near 20 defending the Summit armory with the Berserker Claw. Either one (which already enable fast movement) are awesome when paired with the speed booster armor mod.
I find it funny when people diss weapons (River of Light, Closed Fist, Open Hand, Hunter Claws) that I easily, frequently and intelligently get multiple kills with. Learn.
Just do what I did and sell all of them
You should sell useless reqs if you play warzone alot but if you don’t play it or barely play it do what i do and sell them all
I would advise you getting rid of every common game boost. You will have plenty of uncommon or better to use without ever needing to use a common boost. If you run out of game boosts for some reason, try switching from Arena to Warzone or vice versa as they use a different set of game boosts. Personally, I got rid of the obscure ones that were uncommon or rare as well. Things like gambit assist, medal counts, etc. I didn’t use those unless they were really high level boosts. But common boosts and many uncommon boosts as well are so useless that they are worth more to you to sell than they are to use. Another nice thing about selling common boosts is that they are worth 75 REQ points, a full 50% more than other common cards.
Most people do not use the following weapons, AND they actually are worth quite a bit of money:
Beam Rifle
Binary Rifle
Twin Jewels of the Maethrillian
Halo 2 Beam Rifle
Pool of Radiance
Wicked Grasp
Bezerker’s Claw
Echidna
River of Light
Plasma Turret
Rocket Turret
ONI Rocket Turret
Sentinel Beam
Splinter Turret
You don’t have to sell them all but I keep a low count if I decide to keep any at all.
As for the vehicles, here’s what I do:
Sell the ONI Gungoose
Sell the Woodland Scorpion, a bug has caused it to be worth more REQ than the tundra/urban variants and they are all, functionally, exactly the same.
Now look at each human vehicle. If the woodland/urban/tundra version cost the same points to use as the Corp version, sell the Corp version. If the Corp version was the same cost as the base model of the vehicle, sell the base model.
I have a similar system with the covenant vehicles.
Powerups are up to you. I don’t think I have ever used invis or overshield, so I sell most of them while retaining movements speed and damage boost.

> What reqs are complete trash and expendable? I’ve been clearing out my inventory recently and need a little bit more advice?
If you don’t use it regularly, you need about 20. Everyone has go to-reqs they always use. Unless you have 50+ of those, don’t sell those. I’d never req any mongoose for any reason, so I sell those. I also sell scout warthogs. If you solo queue, sell most of your warthogs. Gungooses are kinda bad IMO, but keep a few (15-20) and a few armored variants. Weapons that are turrets (rocket pods, chain guns not belonging to Jorge) are generally good to sell as they slow you down. Most close range automatic weapons (such as the needler and ESPECIALLY the storm rifle) aren’t things you need, especially considering the AR and SMG exist.

scouthogs are great for initial boss splatters on stormbreak and arc. then after I splatter it, i drive to a spot where I can easily take out the enemy, usually an advantageous position where they arent suspecting me. also, scout warthogs are great for holding armories and bases in warzone assault, especially when on defense.
But I agree with the mongoose, complete trash. Why even make it cost 1 req, when you can pull a scout warthog for the same amount, with more cover, and more speed.

I’m liking the sass, especially at the end. You’re right, you are way too intelligent for us and you do frequently get kills with weapons that a lot of people hate. We should definitely “learn” to “git gud” with those weapons…
But judging by what OP is asking, you didn’t give any advice on what REQs to sell. You simply just came to toot your own horn…and your WZ stats show that it’s a pretty small horn to toot
Anyway, give some advice to OP! He needs to sell some REQs and you’d be helping him in the long run.
I sell mongoose, scout warthogs, any gungoose that isn’t the ONI version, any warthog that isn’t ONI or sword needler. Keep all other vehicles. I sell any power up under level 3, any Gambit booster, and all common level weapons.
I only need loadout weapons in firefight until I can get a ghost.
I don’t play a ton of regular warzone, really I just try to get whatever kills I can and sneak over to enemy bases to kill Marines whenever possible.
I sell anything that the AI drops in WZ. Why waste REQ points on something that you can pick off the ground.

I think for me, I have so many warthogs the scouthog is worthless other than mowing over covenant or prometheans in the early rounds of WZFF…lol. I mostly play WZ. Over the years i’ve stacked a bunch of weapons and vehicles.

The Boltshot variants, any of them are fantastic. Burst fire homing projectiles that can stun enemies. The Wicked Grasp is decent and it falls into my inbetweens as I can score some kills with it effectively to the point where I won’t sell the REQ and it does come into play in odd situations where it feels right or if I simply want to use it. Beserker’s Claw falls a bit lower, but isn’t per se trash in my book. It can have it’s moments to shine.
Now the River of Light has left me out in the open on way to many occasions to where I get mowed under by a boss or sniped, as if I use my thruster while the thing is burst firing, I get hit by my own weapon and down myself. I have considered using it like a Wraith Mortar, but I have found the base Incineration Cannon and Heartseeker to be way more reliable.
I am curious to know how you consistently and effectively utilize the River of Light, and I would be happy to learn if you are willing to teach.
