My Question to 343 and a little Rant - Also good to hear what others are saying feedback is always good.
The Question: “What Happened to the old Demo?” Why does it look different? This isn’t being addressed really.
This is my real opinion on what happened behind closed doors. Like what happened with the game “Watchdogs”
The visuals were too hard on the console versions of the game. So they needed to Turn off certain effects. This could explain why the Game play video looks way different from the Announcement video. Personally I would want the PC version and hope they leave those effects in where they could be turned on in the PC version.
Now for what really is worrying me. #1 The Story and Game play
From the Video this was probably one of the weakest Game play videos of Halo and in my opinion would have been better to show off many of the scenes again from the announcement Trailer but with actual Game play. For example a underwater level, a Night Level etc.
This wouldn’t have also not Ruined any of the story or Spoil much like the Game play video did. I was also hoping we would see some new type of enemy with the Brutes or maybe even a shadow or hint. Personally this is what I would have done if I was working at 343 studios.
This is what would save the current Halo Infinite Game play Trailer.
Open up with the lush space scene like you did with Halo 3 and have Chief holding his helmet and looking out at the down Pelican, In the background you’d see animals and a nice lake. This would help showing off the engines amazing details like what we witnessed with the Deer Creatures in the first trailer. Pan slowly Right to see the Pilot enter the frame and look upset and yelling at Chief. This would have been more powerful and meaningful and lest cringe. This would have also saved you guys being yelled at for a Close up Scene which didn’t work in my opinion. Then after the pilot yells at Chief see him walk off into the amazing forest. See chief try to follow after him and the pilot accidentally steps on a branch which alerts some grunts and gunfire happens as they jump out of the tree’s or bushes. Master Chief deals with them quickly and saves the pilot You continue on and see chief come across the downed ship with a warthog inside it, the ship barely functioning and springs to life as chief gets close to it. Showing off some really nice Lighting details. (Music would then slowly be played and pick up over time) See Chief then going off into the valley like what we saw in the announcement video. He then comes across the Brutes being jumped by an awesome looking Phantom (not roadblocks looking one in the demo) See The Brutes Rain down from above in drop pods on chief. After some weapons are shown off… Have chief get attacked by a Brute which beats him up from behind and is about to kill chief and laughs hysterically. See the Arbiter come in with his Sword and stabs the Brute from behind. “Were it so Easy!” You notice a friend has joined the game with an Xbox Tag above em and this would have been a great way to show off Coop mode. After a couple of fighting and blasting some music like a remaster version of “Blow me Away” or something very much like it with the 2 players together and showing off some cool moves you can do together in coop mode. Last Scene would then show Master Chief and Arbiter walking together over a landscape then it slowly morphs into different scenes landscapes like they are molding together (This could have helped show off more animals and different ares). Then eventually they stop to look up and you see a communication device in red show one of the Main bad guys and not have him talk too much. Then end it on that. This would have been cool to see in my opinion and would have sold many on Halo Infinite!
I LOVE the arbiter part. Next to chief, he’s my favorite character in the entire series. Having him be the other co-op guy again would be awesome, but at this point I’d just be happy if they put him in the game at all. My main problem with your idea is the down play on the pilot, as I’m really looking forward to having him as another major character in the game.

The Pilot for me and what I have seen of him isn’t really a likeable character. I personally enjoyed Halo for having Non human characters. For example a human character that I learned to really like was “Sarge” from Halo 1 2 3 - But the Pilot just seems annoying to me and I noticed other people reactions seem to have that same vibe towards him. Maybe they can fix that and get him to grow on me. But yes again I don’t mind he is in the game just isn’t a character that I like from what I have seen so far and if I was the second player I wouldn’t want to be controlling him and rather be controlling the Arbiter or some other Elite type character.

I’m not sure where you see people disliking the pilot, I’ve only seen good reviews about brohammer. In the discover hope trailer we got, I loved the pilot. In the demo we saw a different side of the pilot. He got real sassy with the chief and I think it’s great character development and dynamic between him and the chief.
I disagree with most of your assessment. But luckily it’s all subjective, and we only have the smallest glimpse of what we’re going to get
Last year’s trailer looked like it was on a different engine at least in terms of mood and ambition anyway
as for the pilot, I found him to be very well written and likable. Looking forward to being in the game with him. Great work there and I’d guess the consensus is very much in favour of him too
What really… really… happened to Halo Infinite:
343i Headquarters. Developers gather in the conference room to discuss Halo Infinite.
343i: “This new tech is great, we’re going open world everyone! Fully explore a Halo ring, no compromises, 4k/60, Velocity, 12 Tflops, Raytracing, we’re putting Halo back on the map!”
Phil Spencer leans in through the doorway
Phil: “Quick note guys, we’ve decided to be what we’re calling “pro-consumer” and this now has to run on an original Xbox One.”
The conference room is pin-drop quiet. A developer struggles to speak.
343i: “Y-You mean you want this to run on that… VCR?!”
Phil smiles
Phil: “Yeah that one. Make it look really bland and cartoon-ey too, like Fortnite or Apex Legends. Also our PR guys are saying that the Brutes might be too scary for kids, so if we can change those characters into a meme-worthy race of monkey-men, that’d be great. And if you want to keep your jobs, I’d better not see even a single texture map in this game, flat shaded polygons only.”
Mouths agape, 343i staff watch in horrified silence.
343i: “Sir, I don’t think -”
Phil: “- Also Unreal Engine is trash, nobody uses that crap and neither will we. We can use the Blam! engine, tweak it a little, call it Slipspace and show off some fake trailers and voila! Hype.”
343i “Sir-”
Phil: "To make sure you all stick to my glorious vision of next-gen Halo, I’ve asked the Video Game Devil to oversee the production.
Video Game Devil enters.
Video Game Devil: “I’m here to take you all to developement Hell!”
A siren blares throughout 343i headquarters, “Brown Alert, Brown Alert!”
Then End

This is a hot take and probably an unpopular opinion that I absolutely agree with.
I really don’t care about The Pilot at all (yet). They tried to make me feel for him with the Discover Hope trailer, but really I spent most of that trailer wondering what game the trailer was for. I don’t need a new character to balance out Chief’s perceived lack of humanity and have someone to emphasize with, because we already have that (Lasky), OR we can continue to explore Chief’s human side like in Halo 4.

ok, so maybe you don’t like him. But surely you feel for him? Did you not see “discover hope”? That guy has some serious reasons for getting back to earth.(although I agree that i would much prefer to play as Arbiter than brohammer.)

Sadly it looks like I was correct with my assessment in previous posts, hence the game being delayed. Also What does having a Pilot have to add to Halo? Nothing Really! Just like Metroid Prime 3 tried to do. It just sadly doesn’t work! I would rather have some more complex character development. Have something we have not seen before or what many halo fans have been saying which you avoided. They want the Arbiter back!
That is all
I think players may end up disliking the pilot because he seems too cowardly and whiny.

He is a human being who has seen his friends and companions die, who has spent several months floating in space around their bodies and remains. He just wants to go home and get away from all that I believe that it is their right not to want to go after the boss and his particular war.

But it is a game. We play games to escape from realism.

But a game can deliver real, grown-up content that adds depth to its story. Games must mature.

We talking about the same gameplay we saw in July?
Game looked like a lego mega construx game that lacked blood and grit. And had a whiny pilot of which his dialogue came on way too strong.
Did not spot any mature themes.

What does one thing has to do with the other? The fact that the game has an artistic style of bright colors does not mean that its story can have deep and well-developed characters.
Although, now that the game is going to be delayed, maybe we should say goodbye to the colorful art design.

Some parts of Halo Reach looked better then the Halo: Infinite gameplay. Mainly weapon models had more detail on them and the warthog did not sound like a Honda civic nor look like a mega construx warthog. I’m thinking game will be a easy T for Teen and have no mature writing/elements.

Weren’t we talking about the need for the characters to be deep or not? At what point have we gone from talking about that to the more than burned debate of how the game has been.

I found that this morning when watching it again. A struggle to relate to him as a character and make any investment, particularly after so long a wait.
