If Halo Infinite were to include flood then I strongly believe Halo infinite should be a mature game like Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3. Blood and “gore” can really add the immersion to players that this is a war on a ring once again. But what do you guys think, should Halo Infinite be a mature or teen game?
It should be rated “Mature”.
It will be rated “Teen”.
Because: Battle Royale money.

You right
How much threads do we need about the rating?
I would agree that Halo should be more “open” for a wider audience, as it means more potential players (which in turn means more money). I do not get the Blood part, Blood is clearly in Infinite, do you mean blood on the floor? Maybe that’s just not added in? I do not know how the ESRB judges with blood staying or not staying.
Also I don’t remember Gore really ever being part of Halo, at least i personally don’t count limbs of Spacezombies as “Gore”, for me gore is if a Marine would lose an arm because a Needler exploded in it.
Hell I don’t even need the Flood to lose limbs. As long as it doesn’t end like the censored german version of Half-Life, where hit friendlies would sit down shaking their heads, enemie Soldiers had been Robots etc., I’m fine. (the uncensored german version of Half Life is out since 2017)
I play Halo mainly because of the Story, and things like no blood splatters or no gore doesn’t affect that in my eyes.
people. Halo Infinite can be appropriately violent without being mature. It’s not “Doom”, and probably never will be. In my opinion, the game ratings are changing. Halo Reach was rated mature, but halo 5 wasn’t. I can’t find a single difference in the violence of either game. If anything, Halo 5 is MORE violent, because of it’s assassinations (yes I know there were assassinations in reach, but halo 5 had more of them and many of them were noticeably more violent). The flood is nothing more than you would see in an intense PG-13 movie. Halo Infinite will probably be an intense T-rated game this time, rather than a mild M-rated game, and the difference between those two is not big

Overall the blood should be on the floor not disappear like How halo 5 had it.

I don’t think halo ever was a “mature” game. I started playing Halo CE before I even started kindergarten. It wasn’t scary, and it wasn’t gore filled. Same with halo 2/3/reach. People are upset halo is now receiving T ratings but personally I think halo has always been a T game. I would love to see a more gore focused halo that would deserve an M rating. Limbs from covenant and marines blowing off and a lot of blood would be cool and show how cruel war is but alas halo isn’t doom. Doom is one of the only games I can think of that actually deserves an M rating.
Does the rating matter? Halo Combat Evolved almost got a T rating but look how successful that game was. The strong language led to the ESRB being shaky and give it a M rating.

oh no, please, no battle royale
I would prefer Halo Infinite to have blood splatter and seriously horrific flood forms (to do them justice). This would probably require an M rating. I don’t hate the Teen rating, i just feel it’s holding the game back in some ways.
Obviously, the game is free-to-play and is trying to grab the largest audience possible, so Teen is more likely.
Maybe the campaign and multiplayer can be separated in some way and have different ratings. Will DLC or future updates to the campaign/multiplayer have different ratings?
I’ts aiming for Fortnite/Apex audience T for Teen rating in it’s Multiplayer. But Campaign could still be saved if it gets M for Mature rating and the Flood comes back.

Halo CE-3 handled the blood and gore perfectly. Also, with and M rating the dialogue would give off a more realistic war feel if that makes sense. The best example I can think of is on CE on The pillar of Autumn when Cortana says “They’re using our lifeboat airlocks to attach their boarding crafts. We go out and they come in!.. Cleaver…”
MATURE - nothing to discuss here.
But of course it will be “Teen”.
It does not need a “Teen” rating for high player numbers. Lots of very popular games being M-rated. Halo 3 for example.

They’ve said they’re not intrested in doing a battle royal. They may have gone back on their words since then, but this is what I know as of now.

I can’t think of any other reason why they insist on a T rating and make the game look so cartoony, other than they’re chasing trends.
It does not matter to me, though I would like to have the bombastic blood splatter from the old Halo titles back. CE had cool blood splatter from the blue from grunts to the orange from hunters. So I guess a mature rating would be best.
