I think my problem is that it’s not optional. I should be able to turn off outlines for any reason (teams, squads, enemies, etc.). I would personally turn them off my teammates if I could.
Removing player outlines isn’t something simple they can just toggle off in their systems. The overlay is a singular entity, that involves the outline and the players shield effects. They’ve said they’re working on giving players more options to change/disable the outline, but that means disentangling the two systems which will take a bit of time.
Halo infinite looks far more plastic than Halo 5
In fact up close Halo 5 has better detail and more metal looking. Take off the rose tinted glasses
The new system is 10 times better than red vs blue. There were certain maps where red was barely visible and maps where blue was barely visible. Also, for people with colorblindness that system was a mess.
I’m pretty happy that I can fight with and against the same colors I choose and not something the game forced me to.
BUT I agree that for FFA there should be an option for people to turn off the enemy outlines. I just know I will keep them on.
It’s never been an issue in all of Halo and now all of a sudden people are coming out the wet works claiming it’s a problem. If it’s a accessibility issue then it should be an option that’s added. Not apart of the core game.
If anything the outlines are confusing
What is confusing? You can pick the outlines you want. You can always be on team blue and fight red or the other way around if you want.
Red vs blue was more confusing because you had to fight against a different color every single match.
I haven’t been this disoriented in any other game before. The outlines and the collision are seriously ruining this game for me. It feels nothing like Halo because of those two things.
I agree that it takes away from color benefits on specific maps. And more accessibility for color blind people is always a good thing. But couldn’t they have done that with letting you pick your enemy colors and your team colors while keeping the old coloring system otherwise? Right now if you turn a corner and the enemy takes up a large portion of the screen their outline can be almost completely obscured. Other times it’s not noticeable either. With the old system whenever I spotted a player I knew what team they were on. With this one, that’s not always true, and I doubt I’m alone.
This right here I 100% agree with. The outlines work great for mid to long ranges, but are horrible up close. 343i should fix that.
I once started shooting my own teammate who was wearing the bright yellow HCS skin because I thought he was the enemy (I use the bright yellow pineapple outlines). And of course he started firing back. I don’t know if he was angry for a teammate shooting at him, or if it was just a reflex.
Call of Duty has no red outline and there is no problem with identifying the enemy, all you need is a red name. Thats it.
Wow, not seeing the enemy because they blend in with the environment is pretty much the biggest issue in CoD. It was a huge problem in Cold War. I haven’t played Vanguard, so I don’t know if they fixed it.
And the red name above the enemies head only happens if you aim at them. So not aiming at somebody will not help you see them. But then again, that was how it worked in Cold War. Don’t know if it’s different in Vanguard.
If CoD would have enemy outlines, I would maybe try it again.
Don’t they have enemy uniforms for different countries/factions?
Free for all definitely doesn’t make any sense putting outlines on players but another thing that’s also starting to get on my nerves that I’ve noticed a lot recently so I’ve had a challenge that it’s get 20 kills in fiesta well it’s pretty hard to get kills in fiesta when the entirety of the other team keeps spawning with power weapons and I keep spawning with normal weapons like the pistol or the battle rifle or the assault rifle or anything that doesn’t kill you instantly in one hit meanwhile the other team keeps spawning with the rocket launcher the gravity hammer the freaking energy sword and loads of other weapons like that and I keep getting screwed over and given crappy weapons what is the point of having these weapons even in fiesta if the entirety of the other team is just going to get power weapons over and over again meanwhile you get screwed over and get nothing and it’s not a rare occurrence it happens almost every single time I play fiesta the only time I got a power weapon was once and it was the gravity handle oh and I just spawned in with the battle rifle and the freaking commando great what a fantastic spawn
I’m not against player outlines entirely, but I am ENTIRELY against them in FFA. Zero point other than to be distracting. At least give players the option to disable outlines and replace them with something else!
Also, why does Fiesta NOT have weapon variants?
That’s how real life works tho. The easy fix is to have a toggle for the outlines so players can play how they like
Yeah, I said I have nothing against an option for people turning it off if they want. But I will keep mine on.
They are 100% more accessible than rvb.
A friend literally couldn’t play mp in halo until infinite and its all thanks to outlines.
Armour corse could work with red names for enemies and forced reb and blue skins or partial skins or under suits…
@ChaosFlame10000 as has been said they are 100% required for people with certain visual impairments. Not everyone has your eyes.
A toggle to switch it off would be appreciated though.
I dont understand why they don’t implement one simple fix that I think satisfies everyone.
Allow a toggle to remove outline for ENEMY TEAM your team having outlines is fine I think, they aren’t too bright and you can see your friends armor easily. If you want to you can even stand next to your buddy and get a good luck cuz they ain’t killing you.
ENEMY however, some players like the advantage of seeing people easily, some people want the outlines gone and just want to shoot at raw Spartans. So. You never shoot team mates and you’ll see anyone without an outline as an enemy and someone who isn’t “uplinked” to your teams hud system, if we need some lore reason.
They can add another toggle in the future too, similar to halo MCCs “Legacy” toggle that removes all new game content (ie: Viking helms in halo 3, new reach armors, halo ce visors) but instead, they can add a RvB toggle that just makes Eagle and Cobra team their original R and B colors. This toggle also STACKS with the enemy outline toggle.
Boom, everyone is happy. You wanna see cool colors and such, great go ahead. Wanna see unique custom colors MORE closely, and maybe, wanna do a lil role playing in BtB and make things more realistic looking, great remove outline. Wanna play classic halo team theme, great turn on RvB
Everyone wins
It’s probably kept to keep the game as consistent as possible more then likely…
