In one way or another, Halo has made a positive change in many of our lives. Perhaps it helped you battle through cancer, or maybe you have met some truly outstanding people in the near twenty years it has been around. Well, this thread was created so you can share your story, and read the stories of others.
If you have seen me around the forums before, I often mention my wife. That is because we do play Halo a lot together, but it is because of Halo that we met. In a match on Halo 5: Guardians, no less. We were on the same team, and I saw her perform quite an impressive kill, so I sent her a message congratulating her on it. It is then she saw my Xbox Profile Pic (which, at the time was me cosplaying as the Master Chief) and we got to talking. She flew over to England half a year later where we met in person for the first time. We have been together ever since.
While we are legally married on paper, we have yet to have a ceremony, and I personally thought it would be a great idea to invite a few people from 343i to it, as without them, we would have never met.
I guess the only positive impact on me I can think of is it helped me identify the source of my anger issues. I have leaned that most of my anger stems from frustration. Now that I know that when I get frustrated I can take a moment to calm down, switch games or simply stop playing. The frustration is not limited or exclusive to video games but they have helped me identify a trigger and now I can kind of avoid meltdowns and It has allowed me to verbalize my thoughts rather then letting raw emotions do the talking. So that is a positive impact Halo and other video games have had on me. Halo was a big source of frustration back in the day because of pvp which I rarely play anymore.

That’s a dope story, it’s always cool to see what impact technology and gaming has on the everyday lives of people.
Personally, Halo has just given me a good hobby. Where I live, there isn’t a whole lot to do in the winter months except stay at home and get some house projects accomplished, so having a good seasonal video game series to play when there isn’t a whole lot else to do has always been nice. Plus, you get to meet other people like y’all reading this.
Halo 4’s ‘you are your Spartan’ was really cool. Halo 5’s movement mechanics made me want to do better in fitness and be able to move like that. I was never athletic, I signed up for a Spartan race, began training at an obstacle course, and now I get to go to world championships! I also quit my job and am a manager now at the gym I trained at, so I also have my dream job. It’s so odd that I can trace that all back to Halo, but I’m loving my life because of the paths I’ve taken.
I became very interested in books, started playing sports because I wanted to be like a Spartan, and started playing airsoft)
I blame halo for cursing me with -Yoink!- which coincidentally helps me with my field of study (physics)
So now I study something I really like but am unable to get a qt3.14 gf
very conflicting
The same thing,I became very interested in books, started playing sports because I wanted to be like a Spartan, and started playing airsoft
First off, OP your story is really cool and sweet so thank you for sharing! As for me, hmm, I’ve thought about it and I think the closest thing I can associate to this post is maybe Halo made me decide to go with Xbox over PS (you know the never ending debate of which one is the best).

I can definitely relate to that. I was a PlayStation 2 owner right up until 2006 when the Xbox 360 was released. I have been with Xbox ever since.
Well as a kid I never really had any close friends that I used to hang out with after school and when I was a bit older I got some closer friends but nobody with really the same passion about certain types of video games like first person shooters. So Halo was a way for me to feel connected to something, I got friends there who felt the same way as I did about halo and knew what I was talking about with being bullied and stuff like that so the impact that halo has had on me is to make sure that even though I couldn’t meet those who I played (cause most were from America or different countries than I) I still felt more connected and surrounded with good people than I felt at school

Ha, loads of people say video games cause violence!
