If you could have any game from the original Xbox remade in HD for the Xbox 360 or Xbox One, what would it be?
At the top of my list would be Crimson Skies:High Road to Revenge. It is, without a doubt, one of my favorite games of all time.
Heads up! Wall of text, incoming…
If you don’t know, Crimson Skies is an arcade flight sim set in a 1930s alternate universe where the United States has fallen apart and divided into smaller nation-states, who wage a constant war in the skies using zeppelins and all kinds of unusual hot-rod airplanes. Great action, impressive three-dimensional locales, lots of cool planes and fun weapons, a variety of enemies, and open missions where you could tackle various objectives however you wanted. It was practically the flight sims equivalent of Halo; except, most unfortunately, it died with the original Xbox.
Back in the day, I used to play all kinds of arcade flight sims; flying games with a focus on action rather than realistic flight mechanics. Crimson Skies was the last great arcade flyer ever made for a console; I’ve tried other games since then on the 360, but nothing comes even close to being as much fun.
I keep hoping for an HD remake, not just for some sweet new visuals, but some new planes; before they took the original Xbox Live offline, Crimson Skies:HRtR had some DLC available, which added new maps and new planes to multiplayer; these could only be played online, so even if you still have the DLC (which I don’t) you can’t play the DLC, even in split-screen.
My interest is in the four DLC planes they added in multiplayer; the Fury, Hellhound, Vampire, and Firebrand. These were all taken from the original PC game and feature new weapons. If they were to make an HD remake of Crimson Skies, I’d want to see these 4 planes flyable in Single-Player, since they were online multiplayer-only before. I’d also love to see the return of the games multiplayer, which I never got to experience.
On a side note, I also wouldn’t say no to an HD remake of the original PC game on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well. Forget that I haven’t had the pleasure of playing the original game for myself, a lot of Crimson Skies fans actually prefer the PC game. Also, Crimson Skies has been neglected for almost 11 years; it’s high time they showed Crimson Skies some love.
Anyway, that’s my biggest wish for original Xbox games. What’s yours?

but still.
