What order should I read the books in?

So I want to dive into all the halo novels as I’ve played every game - even the meh ones like Spartan strike and assault - and I want to explore the rest of the universe while I wait for infinite. The problem is that so many novels have released that I don’t know where to start as I don’t know if I should read the newer ones leading up to the release of ‘Shadowe of Reach’ and infinite or read all of them. Could someone help me?

Fall of Reach and Ghosts of Onyx are my two personal favorites. Fall of Reach details the Spartan II program and Ghosts of Onyx the covers Spartan III.

Happy to give you my usual advice, which falls into two categories:

  • Read the books in order of release date. Many themes and ideas are carried over from older books to newer books, even if the newer book takes place chronologically before the older books. So you might miss little tidbits of information by reading in chronological order. - Pick up a copy of Halo Mythos, which is a timeline of events from the Forerunners to the beginning of HW2. Whatever stories within that book you find interesting, go look for books and comics that expand on those stories.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll probably get a copy of halo mythos and decide which ones to read from there.
