Every day I come here I see people complaining about matchmaking, about rank , about its harder than prior games. etc… Yet, when you look at their stats they are doing well. If you are winning at least half the time (plus or minus 5%) then you are being matched with players at your skill level. I highly questioned the ranking and matchmaking myself for the first two months. But the more I have played the more I see that the system is working as designed. You are being matched against players at or near your level. I went from being a Gold 1 to now I’m a gold 6 and playing against players in the Platinum 1 and 3 range and occasionally a diamond player. Yet the game seems no harder than when I was at Gold 1. I’ve come to the conclusion that Yeah, I have gotten better, but at the same time the system knows about how good I am and matches me accordingly. Yeah I get the occasional stomping on my head. But that is just the system testing me to see how good I am and if it needs to match me with players better than what I have played. I really think people need to look at their stats in depth, if they do, I don’t think most are doing as bad as they think they are.

silver tier breakout is boring but when i play with my onyx friends i get carried, the ranking system is a bit flawed in requiring wins to advance when i am sure i would be more comfortable in gold or platinum breakout
I think the ranking system works pretty well I’m usually matches with people that are even skill level with me.
Winning is nice, but sometimes team success is simply out of your hands . Sometimes you get stuck in a war zone match halfway through because matchmaking there , and sometimes your teammates are better than you , as well as sometimes you’re better than them . There are many factors that go into winning and losing . Sometimes I try and sometimes I win , but I only play a little bit of time because one I don’t have the time and two I have other games I like to play . There’s too much emphasis off of winning, and not learning from your losing matches if you really want to be a pro player . I do not want to be a pro player but when someone takes me out I always try to learn from how .
I enjoy moreso playing with my friends and goofing off. even if we lose, as long as we have a good time, I enjoy it.
Agreed. I have fun as long as I am winning at least 50% of my games. The only time ranking might be off is for solo players that can’t carry the rest of their team or get carried by their team.

I prefer to win when I use my boosts. When I’m not, I couldn’t care less as long I can work on my commendations. Ironically, I usually lose more often when I’m using a boost than when I’m not.

Ha! But in all seriousness, I love to do random stuff in BTB and Warzone. When it comes to Arena, then I play serious, most of the time.

I agree, His record is one, if not the best I have ever seen.
It is nice to win. However, there is a lot of satisfaction in a balanced match that comes down to the wire, win or lose. Especially when the team works together.
Or I’m happy win or lose and there’s no lag!!!

Umm…you only have onyx in one playlist in the preseason and it was in SWAT the playlist where everyone received an Onyx. So really you just curbstomp randoms in Warzone. Not that hard.

My win rate is 56% in Arena so I win more then I lose so I’m happy. Living in Australia on dedicated servers with a small population I am still managing somewhat even games. Still rage when I lose sometimes but overall I feel good because I am getting better at the game all the time and am landing my shots.

It took me over two months to get good in Warzone. Now I rarely get more than 10 deaths. And most of the time get double the kills compared to my deaths. But Very seriously considered stopping playing. But I soldiered thru. Now i’m really enjoying it even When I lose, If I lose, I still most of the time do well in the match even leading my team in kills of spartans and bosses. I don’t expect to win though, I just want to do well and put up a good fight. I’m not just going to surrender because the enemy takes all the bases in the first 3 minutes. I’m going to fight to the end. I AM A SPARTAN. Ha ha.
I don’t have to consistently win as long as the matches are consistently good, close games. Obviously the occasional stomping is unavoidable, but as long as that’s all it is, occasional, I don’t mind those either.

That’s irrelevant all my arena games are played in ONYX level as I play with my friends who are all onyx-champion. If i did play my arena placements solo im sure i’d get into onyx but i don’t
