What New Weapons do You want to See in Infinite?

I think they should put some new weapons or something in Halo: Infinite.

They have and many new ones, but personally I’d like to see some more classic weapons making a return.

Exactly, in all this concern about new weapons we have largely forgotten about the old ones. For instance, the Bulldog was meant as a non-power weapon Shotgun, but by the looks of it the power weapon Shotgun is nowhere to be found. That’s not to say that the Shotgun isn’t in the game, its just that the time the devs have been taking to show off the new weapons hasn’t given us much time to admire the old ones or even check if they are present.

With the new sandbox ideology they are going for, the Shotgun was likely sacrificed. Considering both the Sword and Hammer are returning, and they occupied the same close-ranged power weapon slot in the sandbox as the Shotgun.

That’s probably where a lot of classic weapons are. They were far too similar to something that already existed, so they picked one and tossed the rest. The BR being in is why there’s no DMR, Carbine, or Light Rifle, and why the Sidekick is replacing the Magnum.

Actually, I was always kind of confused why the Shotgun even existed while the other two weapons did other than a UNSC close range weapon instead of a Covenant one. The Sword is just plain stronger, the Hammer is TOTALLY stronger, the Shotgun’s only advantage seems to be its far greater ammo. So I’m not that choked up about the Bulldog replacing it.

Even with that the Bulldog seems far more in line with CE’s Shotgun design as well. In CE it was hard to call the Shotgun a power weapon as it rarely killed in less than 2 or 3 shots. But it shot fast (check) had solid range (check), and lots of ammo (check) which is basically the Bulldog.

Will this be the game where the mighty Tornado Gun finally makes its appearance?

I think the reason the Shotgun stayed was that in CE neither the Energy Sword or the Gravity Hammer were available at the time so the Shotgun was the only close range power weapon, thus, it had a purpose. But in later installments as more close range power weapons were added it lost its chief purpose, but was kept because it was just about the best weapon for the Flood, and by the time Halo 3 ODST rolled around it just simply didn’t have any reason to exist but was too iconic for 343 to justify getting rid of it at the time. So it wasn’t until now that they appear to have gotten rid of it.
