What NEW things in campaign would you like to see...

As we know, Halo is full of surprises. What kinds of things would you like campaign to have that no other campaign ever had and would be great for the new trilogy?

Here are some of my ideas:

Interaction with NPC’s - Talking, finding info, rewards maybe, like "Oh If you can find me a plasma rifle, I’ll trade you this Sniper Rifle.

ANALYZE! - (like in H: CEA, but no kinect) This would add a lot more depth into story and characters, Something similar to the Metroid series where you can analyze enemies, allies, structures, and plants, and animals. This could add more replay value too and have difficulty exclusive analyzations.

Interactive Action Scenes! - This may sound cheesy, but this is campaign. What I have in mind is like the assassinations in halo reach, but more for like a boss enemy, that is large. You would press certain buttons in random order that come up on your screen, and with each button you do something like ride the enemy, grab them by their tentacles, then say rip them off. At the end, you would have killed or severely damaged the boss.

RPG Elements. - Give us a little more choice in what we want to do, since we are on the planet alone (at first at least) Do I want to go to find out what that large temple is? Or do I want to see if anything is in that ravine first? Of course the story can progress the same, but you could get choice on what objective you want to do first, with ups and downs depending on your choice.

Large Battles! - Pretty much every halo game has us running around killing small groups of enemies, heading to the next area and killing another group. How about forcing us to traverse through crossfire of 2 large forces of sentinels (or whatever) vs whatever (Covenant/forerunners/UNSC/precursor/whoever the enemies are)

I feel these drastically new things would help make the NEW trilogy off with a fresh, unique start.

Feel free to comment on my ideas, express your own ideas, or add to anything!

I agree.
I hope there is bigger vehicle battles like in Halo 3 and previous Halo’s (Or maybe even ODST) but reach had no epic vehicle battles and for that I hated the campaign. I like going around on foot, exploring from place to place but I do like my vehicle battles as well and reach didn’t do that. Halo 4 needs a lot more vehicle play in the campaign.

I agree with you totally on that being able to choose which objective to do first but not with all missions. I wouldn’t want them on all the missions.

It would also be nice to defend a huge UNSC base or something that is destructible by the enemy.

I was also thinking of something along the lines of a huge open world, like forge world but for campaign, where you would go to a spot such as a cave opening or passage in a mountain side(by flying or driving) and meet up with a squad of marines and from there go on a mission.

Maybe some areas are not accessible unless you can like fly over them or something too (but not have access to flying vehicles until later in the game), like a large light bridge, and maybe you can fly to the other side to activate it, where you’ll then be able to drive across for the rest of the game.

  1. You can pick up upgrades for weapons. Like mods in F3. These would be usefull for campaign and add depth to infection gametypes and other maps

  2. More than one of each type of each weapn type. Such as two different types of human pistols . Such as the Halo 3 version and the Halo 2 version in the same game.

  3. Human enimies such as innies

Insurrectionists are a great idea! I’ve been wanting to fight them for awhile, but how would they get onto the forerunner world?
