If we let “evidence” determine video games, none of the games you love would exist, including Halo. You want evidence? We can punch a scorpion to pieces, a wraith, why can’t we punch a warthog to death? Even if it’s not the way I saw it, it’s still possible by Halo lore. That catching a warthog thing, though, stays. Not an original idea, but it’s something the series hasn’t REALLY done, like with a passion, I’m sure they’ve done that with one game or another, and I bet you’ll name it, but something for the FPS world. That could help move the story away from Chief when we get “sick of him”. Season 1 would be 1 campaign, season 2 could be another, 3, 4, etc. Might also be fun to see what fans could come up with, have full mod support, fun stuff like that. I’ve also been thinking about the spartans we could have. A Marine, an ODST, a Spartan I, II, III, IV, hell, let’s intro Spartan Vs, a replacement for the Spartan IV project based on new anti-Flood “body mods”. All of these being customizable to the last detail. Individual shoulders, wrists, legs, give us the ability to remove armor from each category for a “lighter” feel. Imagine having no armor on the suit. Aside from the preset patters, imagine having the ability to draw your own on Waypoint. Relax, if people get nasty, it would definitely be cut. Oh, the thoughts! By now I can’t stop finding something to ramble about so Imma go.

> Halo is the most successful game series on Xbox and has been one of the star games since it came out almost 20 years ago? They haven’t made any major changes, and apparently they don’t need to. Its not about creating a new game, that people have to learn how to play every time a new one is released. Its about being able to jump right in, and enjoy a new story line that keeps it fresh.

1st, no major changes? The story is what keeps it fresh? To a point the story thing is correct, but look at what changes have been made over time. Dual wielding, equipment, assassination animations, armor abilities, etc. And you say they havent made any major changes, look around, people loved dual Needlers or a P. Pistol and a Magnum (OP as both those combos were… To a point, of course). Equipment is one thing people are excited for in Infinite, armor abilities were what made Reach it’s own unique experience (although 343 broke them in 4), assassination animations, although slow, are still fun to commit to most, since it is basically an insult equivalent, there are so many changes that went unnoticed by you.

You play the drama queen role of an idea, taking advice way too far, or trying to deflect the ideas with realism, or an opinion like, “the story is what keeps it fresh”. I just said even if it’s not how I initially thought of it, but some form of it. Keep in mind, it’s not just me with a few bad ideas, Bungie, 343, Rockstar, any developer will tell you that over half the new ideas in a game gets thrown out and is never seen by the community. You act like developing something is as easy as 123, but it’s not, it takes collaboration, feedback, eventually you might throw those ideas out yourself, etc. Maybe next time just say, “That’s a bad idea in my opinion, here’s why…” and leave it at that. Maybe someone will back it, maybe someone would back the dev, but being an overall -Yoink!- about it doesn’t speak dev language, in fact, that’s what starts crap like this. Let idiots like myself have our ideas, and we might throw them out the window ourselves, but trying to snag it will convince us to hold on longer.

Back on the warthog thing, though, something I never understood is why you can beat a scorpion to death, but why it’s a dumb idea to do the same to a hog or mongoose. Maybe someone can mount the warthog and choose to either hijack it like normal, or 'nade/punch the crap out of it like a scorpion. The same can be said about why hijacking a scorpion is apparently dumb. Some form of beating vehicles to death, along with hijacking things you couldn’t hijack before.

Finally, back to the skill weapons thing. I was horsing around with Halo 5’s weapon pad glitch, and when I brought the Heartseeker custom with the SpLaser, it gave me an idea of what a skill weapon could be. You could use standard ammo, or use the full battery to power up a charge to fire a “rocket”. The more charged it is, the more powerful the weapon is. Be careful, charge it too long and the “rocket” will backfire, killing you. If you DO obtain maximum charge, you could potentially take out a couple of hunters with splash damage, but all this is just an IDEA, and shouldn’t take a full on, “You can’t do that, no, nah uh, that’s dumb, lose the idea, bro.” Just one no will do.

By falling to your death do you mean at the same time you die or after? Because if it’s after there is already a medal for it.

None of those are major changes. Changing the way you attack from a hit to a sequence is a major change.

Drama queen?? If you thought you had a good point to make, you wouldn’t need to throw in the childish insults. This back and forth between us started because you said charging, (was too difficult for you, and) needs to go, but you wanted to draw out attacks into a sequence, so that you could “explode a vehicle in a single punch”.

You can punch all vehicles to death. Again; It would be ridiculous to catch any one of them at full speed and destroy it in a single hit, all based on a “skills check”. You’re not thinking outside the box, you’re literally thinking inside of one. You’re idea belongs on a board game, not a multiplayer, online, video game.

I bet you play at least 2 out of 3: dungeons and dragons, minecraft, final fantasy.

> I bet you play at least 2 out of 3: dungeons and dragons, minecraft, final fantasy.

They are major changes, though. Dual wielding allowed for faster comboing, equipment allowed a nice defensive, or offensive, touch, AAs furthered that touch, and while assassination animations may not have changed much, it was still one of the biggest game-modes in the series, “Assassinations”. Also, I never said charging needed to go, I said it should change, because players kept using GP like this was Mario, and SC wasn’t too far off that same train, either. They need to not be insta-kill. Now most people wanted it removed, I wanted it altered (even if I never used it). As for the vehicle idea, I just said, it’s changed more to how the scorpion or wraith gets beaten to death. You claim you can beat all vehicles to death. With standard melee, maybe, but not by mounting it. Picture if you will, mounting a ghost. You could press one button and hijack it, melee and punch it to death, or just plant a grenade (granted you have one) to dismount and destroy it. The same could be said about any vehicle, because there’s no reason we couldn’t hijack a scorpion in the first place. Skill weapons are exactly what you said, though, sequence, like the incineration cannon, in fact, or the plasma pistol. Pull to fire a default round, hold to charge up a more powerful round. The only difference is these would essentially just need to be charged for longer to deal more damage with the idea of backfiring.

I’m also guessing you still don’t understand what that whole “skill check” thing was. First, it was bad wording on my part, has nothing to do with skill, more to do with how fast you can mash a button. Second, that idea is gone in favor of jacking scorpions, beating warthogs to death, or planting a grenade on them, but let’s picture it anyway. Imagine that you just caught my warthog. We’d both need to mash the melee button faster than each other to win. You mashing faster than me would be evident by you punching my car apart like it was a scorpion. 1 punch, 2 punches, 3, 4, the armor’s breaking, eventually, just like a scorpion, it’ll give. Me mashing faster than you would be evident by the constant push the hog would give your spartan, along with the shield decay. Eventually, your shield will give and you’ll be sent under my tires. That is what the idea was. Not great, because the whole, “catching a car” Issue, but I thought about bringing the speed of the car into the puzzle. If it was going too fast, too bad, but if the impact wasn’t lethal? Catch! Once again, though, the idea never took off in favor of hijacking scorpions, bludgeoning warthogs to death, and planting grenades onto said warthogs.

BTW, I don’t play any of those games. Never played D&D, same thing with FF, and “I” haven’t played Minecraft in over ten years. And that whole, “cbildish insults” thing? You play the “that belongs in D&D, which I bet you play” card more than any “childish insult” I’ve given.

That makes sense… Not as in game play, but it makes sense that you suggested it, and think changing the attacks to that 1990s / Wi nonsense would somehow be “out of the box” or a good idea for Halo.

We are engaging the enemy: assit 3 allies in a boss take down.
