So you can’t have anything new without comparing it to something else. And you can’t have the game stay the same without complaining it not changing. So what type of stuff do the fans actually wanted to see in Halo Infinite that is actually new and not returning?
I feel like the is a decent demand for actual modular attachments/weapon customization. You could argue H5 had it but I’m thinking more in lines with being able to outfit it yourself. Possibly with multiple attachments.

I strongly agree, I think weapons should have a barrel, sight, and reciever slot. Barrel effects range, sight effects zoom level, reciever effects bullet type (like how Halo 5 had Forrunner UNSC weapons or how there was a black hole version of the plasma pistol.)

That sounds like an increase to supporting loadouts. Something that people didn’t want.

That’s very close to the loadout system, something people absolutely do not want back. It’d be best to just have them as separate weapons that function very differently from their base counterpart, like the Void’s Tear Plasma Pistol.

Exactly, unless its from Warzone but that’s a whole different mode that slowly loss popularity.

Never said it had to be in MP. Can just as easily be implemented in campaign. Lol

Armor camos/patterns. Basically, we should be given more options in where we put the colors on our armor. Not super game changing but it would be nice.

The only problem I’d say with something so large as weapons customisation it’d be a lot of resources and time for such a large game mechanic to only be a featured in campaign.
Coding how each attachment works & balancing. Get it right is such a large task, if they were going to add it it’d probably be shoehorned into MP aswell as to not make the entire thing a waste.
Personally the only kind of customisation I want to see is cosmetics. For a new feature I’d love to see some more depth as to how we can customise the colour pallets of armour. Individual pieces have their own colour or be able to attach colour patterns onto pieces. Something to make each individual Spartan stand out.

They could get around the loadout style system by doing it similar to how MCC handles skins.
As an example, in the menus you’d be able to customise each weapon in the sandbox (or maybe just a select number of weapons), being able to interchange the skin, the scope, bullet type, etc. What you would be doing is telling the game what you want Weapon ‘X’ to look like when you spawn with it or pick it up on the map.
In terms of game-changing mechanics, such as a mods that grant extra range or damage, these should be kept strictly to PvE modes (and maybe some select Action Sack type special playlists too).
Full on customisation. Colours, armour, head, shoulders, arms, torso, waist, legs. With the ability to interchange and colour any part. Add that to weapons and visors and have fully cutomised emblem and plate editor. I don’t think we’ve ever had full control in Halo before. It would be great imo.
For MP I think they should focus on small changes to the classic Halo formula not anything huge. However, I expect to see 343i create a new Warzone style PVP/PVE mode and I hope they go bonkers with that. Their competition for that mode will absolutely be Battle Royale games like COD Warzone, but I hope whatever they create is distinctly Halo and not another miserable attempt to copy a successful game
As for Campaign, going open world is a pretty huge change to the existing formula, but it will only pay off if the game is full of unique open world activities such as side missions, secret areas, boss battles, and so on rather than just an empty map full of Banished bases
User set colours instead of Red vs Blue. It doesn’t matter what colours everyone sees on their own screens. If I want every game to be green vs gold (and me to be green) then I should be able to. Would make things easier… especially for colour blind players.
Rotations off the bench… to balance uneven teams in custom games, enable fire-teams to fit smaller games (eg. if my fire-team is five players and I want to play in a 4v4 game), and if someone quits a game. Essentially the extra player(s) sit on the bench and is rotated in with each team death.
T-bag scoring mechanics (for custom games). Extra points for style!
A handicapping system for custom games. So individuals can have different shield, health, and damage set. Or limited scoring. Maybe even limits on what weapons they can pick up etc. Would also work if imposed in-game (eg. if you get out to a K:D of 2 then your shields are weakened and you only get 0.5 points per kill).
Your game completion rate right there on screen. A big smiley badge to show the world you ain’t a quitter.
Personally i think what the halo fans don’t want any new mechanic xD

That’s honestly a very boring way to do it. Giving players more options will always be better. Also, noone says there needs to be load outs. Weapon customization can easily be added through forge editing rather than a load out system.
- Bots in (offline) Multiplayer
- Forge-able Firefight
- Custom Options for Campaign (Shield Strength, Ammunition, Movement speed, etc.)
In terms of actual gameplay mechanics, maybe some gravity changes? All factions already have artificial gravity, who’s to say that it all has to point in the same “downwards” direction?
Maybe some actually linked portals à la - well - Portal, that allow for some clever map design that loops.
Time dilation? Something to slow down enemies or projectiles, but doesn’t work on beam weapons?
Definitely nothing that interferes with Run’n’Gun. No sprint or anything of the sorts.
If they are kind of copying DooM Immortal / DooM 2 Mod / Quake Mod with the grappling hook I kind of want to see hardcore gore and executions done in Halo. Also always run should be a mechanic like how Spartans should operate like the super soldiers they are. With the open world it would be cool running around top speed killing bad guys by the droves with multi colored blood splattered everywhere and just piles of giblets.
I have to admit, I was kind of hoping for a sidestep/dodge mechanic to be implemented into Infinite.
The ability to pick which weapon you get such as using the classic BR or if you want to use the H5 BR then you can it should be the same for every gun in the game.
I prefer the halo 5 mechanics, it was faster and more fluid with the attacks, but in all games the mechanics always change, maybe before they changed very little but 343 did a good job with H5 so I don’t worry about how the mechanics will be in Halo Infinite.
