What new guns do you despise, and which guns do you wish you had instead?

i dispise every weapon other than the br, ar and sidekick.

all new weapons are absolute garbage.
all others that are not new, are not equivalent to their old versions.

sadly it ruins the game for me.

Despised weapons:
All electric weapons (hate their design and their effects does not feel “Halo” to me)

Whist list:
Brute shot
Forerunner blaster (really liked the design, a shame it was not added in the game)
Hunter Cannon (H5 version)
Jackal Shield (i mean c’mon, that would be such a great addition)

guns i hate in this game:

  • shock rifle… took the entire purpose of the plasma pistol and made it POINTLESS… not to mention the gun is SOOO ANNOYING to fight against. enjoy being 1 shot [because sniper] or stun locked if in vehicle… FUN
  • plasma pistol… need i say more? it’s utterly pointless in this game
  • disruptor… aftershock? really? it’s the definition of a unfun spam gun. have fun thinking your safe to recharge your shield after an battle against it, only to then die because of AFTERSHOCK
  • commando… its design doesn’t suit halo. and the BR and sidekick is objectivally better. there is 0 reason to pick up the commando
  • bulldog… due to it no longer countering melee. it has been widdled down to an buckshot AR. so if the AR isn’t suiting your close-mid range, then go with it. otherwise it’s repetitive. also its design suits BO3 rather than halo
  • ravager… just remove its primary burst fire. its only useful vya the cahrge ult fire AOE, but aside from that, useless
  • sidekick… i just hate the design of it. so bland looking. they could’ve just given the stats of it to the magnum… but no, that had to make another ugle gun

guns i’d like to see return
grenade launcher (leagues more satisfying than the cindershot]
pump action shotgun [better than the bulldgog]
carbine [the stalker rifle… but better]
fuel rod/bruteshot [bouncy rockets would be fun]
and really all the past guns [primarialy for forge]

Despise:

  • Pulse Carbine (Too reliant on being in the sweet spot homing range)

  • Commando Rifle (I just struggle to use it, especially since its TTK is not as fast as the Tech Test.)

  • Plasma Pistol (Without the EMP its sole use is the noob combo, especially since it doesn’t fully drop the new buffed Overshield. I don’t think a weapon should rely entirely on another gun to do something).

  • Ravager (Even with the buff I personally prefer something like the Brute Shot or Concussion Rifle)

Wishlist:
Brute Shot or Concussion Rifle
Plasma Rifle (I’d love one or two more traditional plasma weapons)
Sticky Detonator
Og Shotty and Magnum
Any other Plasma Pistol except the Infinite one

Commando as it currently stands.

My solution: Make the Commando the starting weapon instead of the AR. This would solve both the Commando’s place in the sandbox and would alleviate the complaints about lack of BR starts as players would now have a precision weapon start that (imo) isn’t OP as a starting weapon.

Buff the AR and replace it where the commando spawns.

Eh, I see what your saying with how the game currently stands. But it would just turn into a mid-long range scenario anyways. The commando is pretty ok as long as you have someone putting shots down on the same guy.

You got me geeking on that jackal shield bro :laughing: It should be an equipment piece that you can activate on and off but has a cool down. Weapon is unavailable when active and incoming rounds run down the cool down faster, just as it would if you shoot a jackel in campaign. Not covering a large surface area so can still be countered by opponents. Its perfect. Plus, the sandbox is kinda jacked right now anyways, i say why not lol.

Despise
I hate the spammy way people use the Sidekick. I’d rather it be more about the accuracy of the weapon than the speed it shoots. Most people don’t really aim it they just dump the whole mag in the direction of an enemy and hope for the best, its incredibly annoying.

Wish We Had
The Halo 4 Magnum. It was also spammable, but it REALLY punished you for shooting it as fast as you could, unlike the sidekick which seems to reward you for spamming. It was much more accurate when paced properly, and it didn’t have as fast of a fire rate. It also had a scope function. It was pretty much the most balanced version of the pistol as a sidearm in the series.

Keep the shock rifle! Id rather the sidekick get nerfed to an acceptable level :sweat_smile::point_left:

Most despised weapons:
Vk78 Commando (the recoil is horrible and the weapon is horrible in full auto, yet it is a full auto weapon. Who makes this up?)
Pulse carbine (hate this weapon to its core).
Mk50 sidekick (too spammy and the mag is too small. I would love to see a hybrid between the current Sidekick (7 shot kill) and the Halo 5 magnum (5 shot kill) and make the Sidekick a 6 shot kill)
Plasma pistol (what is even the point of this weapon in the current sandbox?)
Ravager (too weak)

Wishlist:
Carbine
DMR
Halo 5 magnum

What can I say? I like precision weapons. The Commando and Sidekick COULD fill those roles if they were properly tuned. I think both need a rate of fire reduction and the Commando needs the full auto feature removed OR make the weapon function full auto.

Commando needs to dissappear from this game ASAP

Would not replace would just get rid of them.

Stalker rifle - replace with a covenant carbine that they can rename to a banished Carbine or something if name of the organisation using it really matters.

I just hate the shock weapons. Stripping away a potent and traditional component of one weapon (the Plasma Pistol’s EMP) just so you can justify an entire new line of weaponry and their gimmick just feels like such a bad insult to me.

Also the fact that one (the Disruptor) is pretty useless while the Shock Rifle can be stupidly powerful when someone can aim and it isn’t spawning like a power weapon is just rubbing salt on the wound to me.

I’ve also really come to hate Dynamo Grenades. Just so many instances of Warthog-Flag runs just coming to a dead stop because of one person having them and how they’re so readily available. Fragmentation in particular can be so damn infuriating with the Dynamo Grenades spawning right there in front of the base and I’ve had instances of multiple people tossing Dynamo Grenades during flag runs. It’s not fun and it feels so damn cheap when compared to an overcharged Plasma Pistol shot or sticking with Plasma Grenades.

Pretty much all the new ones are kinda meh to me personally.
Want the DMR back, the Beam Rifle and the original Magnum. AND the Plasma Rifle for sure for sure. In red(Brute version. And also the Bruteshot please. And what happend to the good old Mauler…

I consider the shock rifle to fall more in line with the Binary Rifle /focus Rifle family than the Beam Rifle family.

It functions very similarly to the H5 Binary rifles, it’s just missing the second layer of zoom.

I do wish Infinite would lean more into the H3 approach to specific modes. For example, I really liked how in the H3 Team Snipers playlist had the beam rifle on the map as a psuedo power weapon. Infinite could do the same, where during than snipers matches the Shock Rifle/Skewer could appear on the map as a power weapon.

Wish we had the carbine instead of the pulse carbine.

Wish we had the DMR instead of the commando.

Wish we had the pump shotgun instead of the bulldog.

Most of all, wish we had the H5 magnum instead of the sidekick.

There are new weapons I really enjoy like the skewer, shock rifle, and heatwave, but many weapons we got that replaced some of my favourite weapons for 10+ years makes me really sad.

343i said they’d be adding weapons as the game goes on but at this rate we’re gonna be a year in with no new guns. Wonder how long it’s actually going to take to get our favourites back.

All banished weapons except for the gravity hammer. They look and feel bad.

I’d trade them all for the Railgun.

I’m honestly kind of surprised that the Disruptor didn’t find it’s way on the initial list, but here’s mine.

Wishlist: Halo 5’s Boltshot

Now, the glaring issue with this take of mine is that there’s now a sudden lack of in-game EMP options besides the Shock Rifle and the Dynamo Grenades. For that, I propose restoring the EMP functionality of the Plasma Pistol.

Also, I just like the boltshot. It wasn’t even that good in Halo 5: Guardians because of how fast everyone was moving, but I imagine that it would perform better in Halo Infinite’s sandbox.
