What More Changes Must Be Made In Halo 4 MM

For the love of god and everything holy, camo has always been a POWER-UP in EVERY SINGLE Halo game, except for Halo: Reach, which was the crash of Halo. Now in Halo 4 it’s once again back as an armor ability. And… To say it up front, it’s yoinking stupid. I recently found myself playing a 4vs4 infinity slayer match on Complex, where the ENTIRE enemy team was using the camo armor ability camping in the blue room on the side of the map where scatter shot spawns. It was RIDICULOUS. One of them of course, was outside the base the rest of them were located in, and was using camo sniper, changing his position after every single set of kills. Their was literally nothing that could be done.

CAMO NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM USE AS AN ARMOR ABILITY IN MATCHMAKING! NO IF’S, AND’S OR BUT’S!

And as for Overshield, it shouldn’t be a called in ordnance, it should be a pick-up off of the map, like how it always was in all of the Halo games. Not as a random ordnance drop on the map -_-, but as a set spot in the map. Just how it was in Halo 3, and Halo 2.

FLAG "JUGGLING"

In every single Halo game, even HALO: REACH, flag juggling was in. Now I think it was a great idea to implement a magnum in the flag carriers hands, however, being able to drop the flag was always a huge part of Halo, and should be brought back.

An example as to why;

Let’s say I am playing CTF on Adrift, and I am the only one on the other side of the teams base, but I have 3 rockets left. Now I could pick up this flag, and potentially score for my team. But what if they happen to spawn very close to me while I am carrying the flag, I can’t drop the flag and kill them with my rockets. HOW LOVELY! sarcasm. Another great example could be, let’s say I grab the flag with my three rockets, like an idiot might, and my team mate is with me. Now I can’t drop the flag for him to carry, while I protect him with rockets. -_- How stupid is that?

Bring the ability to drop the flag back!

PUT WEAPONS ON THE MAPS FOR GODS SAKE

It gets extremely tiring, running out of ammo you know! Not to mention, that since the clips are so small in all of the primary weapons, unless you use the “Ammo” support upgrade you run out of ammo so quickly it’s extremely aggravating and annoying. Screw the random ordnance drops on the maps! In EVERY SINGLE Halo Game except for this ONE, timing weapons was a key factor in winning games! You couldn’t just get lucky by having a rocket launcher drop 10 feet away from you! You had to actually pick it up, and come back 3 minutes later to fight for it! Now when I’m talking about ordnance drops I am not talking about the ones you get from getting a handful of points, I’m speaking about the actual RANDOM drops out of the -Yoink!- sky! Which is completely unskillful and idiotic. 343, please place Battle rifles, DMRs, Light Rifles, Carbines, and all other primary weapons on the map to be picked up! AT SET SPOTS, NOT IN RANDOM PLACES AT RANDOM TIMES. As well as grenades. Whoever’s idea it was to implement “resupply” into this game, I salute you for ruining another key factor in Halo which is; Knowing were grenades are on the map. Now, in Halo 4, if you use up all your grenades, and you don’t have resupply in your loadouts, you can’t pick up your dead opponents grenades, WHICH IS ONCE AGAIN, STUPID! you have to walk around the map until you find the stupid ordnance drop that has two grenades, if there even is one on the map at the time. I shouldn’t have to walk to the other side of the map just to grab some grenades, and for those of you who are about to say, “You don’t need grenades to play Halo”. Stop reading. Just leave this post and go somewhere else. Oh yeah, and another reason to put weapons the map instead of having random ordnance drops is; montage clips! :smiley:Don’t you guys miss people like Kampy grabbing the sniper rifle and getting some sick clips with it? Now, that doesn’t happen as much as it used too :confused: because the sniper drops at the most RANDOM places, or you can only get it if you’re lucky enough to get it in an ordnance drop.

SPRINT

I think that 343 should create a no sprint gametype in Halo 4, just like how they had in Halo: Reach with a no bloom gametype.

And please buff up the Battle rifle, or nerf the DMR. The DMR is OP compared to the battle rifle. And it is undeniable.

reach was probably the worst halo going for so many reasons it didnt even feel like halo in so many ways at least halo 4 has more of the halo feel

Halo began to die out when Halo: Reach released, a lot of players went back to playing Halo 3, or just quit playing Halo in general. Because Halo: Reach was too easy of a game, and it was very noob friendly, especially the ranking system of it. Halo was never noob friendly before Halo: Reach. When I say crash, I don’t mean the game turned to poop, I mean the game began to die out. In Halo 3, a TON of people would always be online. In Halo: Reach the numbers died a lot. Now in Halo 4, all of the playlists have low numbers compared to what Halo 3 had. The population of this game died down so much when Halo: Reach was released. I guess I should have elaborated more on that.

I agree. I don’t mind sprint anymore though, it’s a lot better than it was in Reach.

Good news on the camo part, camo will get a nerf in the next TU. Every time a camo user shoots, he becomes completely visible until camo resets. That way you’ll immediately know where to shoot if they catch you off guard.

Some standard primary weapons like often found on custom maps would be very nice indeed. Nobody bothers using the ammo perk in 4v4 gameplay anyway, except for that extra ammo in power weapons of course.

As for power weapons, I agree that they should spawn on fixed positions at fixed intervals (e.g. every 2 minutes). Though not everything new is bad. I kinda like the HUD indicators. They let less skilled player learn the game faster, without actually giving them an advantage. In a non-random system, players aware of the weapon drop will be able to set up before it drops, whereas new players will be surprised to see it has come up. But at least they will know, and that will result in a conflict over the power weapon, that is usually won by the team that knew the spawn time. It brings enemy teams together and intensifies the game. What I’m saying here is: Team Throwdown’s weapon drop settings are pretty much perfect and should be implemented in other playlists as well. I don’t see how randomising weapon drop locations and times would make the game more fun for casual players either.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people would agree on all of this, but posting the way you do isn’t going to help much I think. I don’t think they will take raging as serious feedback. I already really appreciate what 343i has done so far this year since they came back from their vacation. Things have been better and better since Bravo joined 343i. And with the next TU and ranking system, it will only improve further.

If you want to be heard, you will have the best odds of succeeding by posting each issue in a specific thread about the subject, and giving constructive feedback instead of ranting. 343i’s made these threads themselves because they desperately want to hear feedback on maps, playlists, and more recently the weapon sandbox, all in the matchmaking feedback section of the forums.

I know alot of people that have moved from Halo 3 to Call Of Duty Modern Warfare because of sprint.
For them Halo3 was to slow / gameplay feels like in slowmotion.
So I would say people already left Halo and moved to faster games at Halo 3 times.

If I remeber HALO 3 was “THE GAME” at the beginning.
There wasnt that much other great games as like today.

I can see it if I look at my friendlist.
Almost every people in my friendlist I`ve met in Halo games.
And if I take a look now, the most of them are playing Call of Duty, Battlefield,
Minecraft or Reach. Thats it.
At the Halo 4 release - most of them played Halo 4 but only a short time.

I dont think that 343 can get this people back because they felt in love with the games they like.

I wish for you competitive games that 343 will make your dreams come true.
Hope they will do a ranked gametype for you guys without sprint, aa,
jip, no ordenance drop, no DMR,and no loadout. With classic weapons
(BR,AR,Pistol and so on…)just like in Halo 3.

And dont forget u could always play Halo 3. No one is forced to play Halo 4. If Halo 3 is so great why dont play it?

Sprint is a win/lose option…
On the winning side it gets you to a power weapon faster and can help you evade faster… On the losing side it can put you in a really big disadvantage in battles, say if you run into somebody who shoots you once or twice before you can get out of sprint ! HAHA IM SO SMART. SUPPORT MY POST GUYZ

It’s also a power up in Reach.

Reach was only a Halo game by name, it never actually had any halo qualities single or multiplayer therefore, in actuality, as well as disagreeing with what this guy said, you dislike Halo and you do NOT know what makes a good Halo game.
Reach WAS the crash of Halo, it started going down hill from there and unfortunately for your lack of argument that is a fact.

Also we cant just go play halo 3 due to the lack of population, its stupid logic saying to go back the an older game in the franchise as it just doesnt happen when Halo 3 was 2 games ago.

Also Halo 3 had no decline, Halo 2 and 3 were perfectly fine in terms of pace, ofcourse they were slower than cod but hey, faster isnt better, people take longer to die and theres more to Halo than itd pace

So I started playing Halo as I was 20 years old.
Now Im almost 31 and I think you dont need to say to me I dont know what Halo is about.

I think the biggest issue with Halo today is the new fanbase.

The spirit of the people has changed.

In the old days teamwork and fun was all about.
Nowadays its only about K/D.
“Hey look at my K/D Im the king” and then after a few death people quit because they dont want to get a bad K/D.

People now are not like John117 - they are more like John Rambo.

No sprint option. Team Throwdown is now the only playlist I play, and I have experience for competitive play since Halo: CE. I liked the last version of the “MLG” settings No bloom, No sprint Please consider 343i…

I agree 100%. May I add, though, the division of MM playlists into Ranked and Social?

Already made my list in another post:

  1. Added similar Halo 2 ranking system.

  2. Quitting increasing wait factor and prevents level XP gain for 1 game. Quitting restarts off main server’s 00:00. First four quits per 24hr period = no wait and no XP lock.(because disconnects happen, etc.)

Every quit beyond 4 is a 10 minute wait, and first game back is XP locked. If 10 quits are recorded in a 24hr period time, banned until new 24hr cycle. PERIOD!

  1. DMR unscoped range dropped by 40M (make is zoom based weapon), add descope to DMR and Sniper(s). Reduces the crazy close range power, while keeping the long range damage. Descope gives players the ability to push out of their bases at extreme range without getting completely locked down (even by bad players) good players could push out with bad players failing to re-engage quickly.

  2. Spawning Grenades 2 stickies dropped to 1, and pulse raised to 2

  3. INVs AA, gone, period (this should be a pick-up if anything) Remake the AA to only be a radar scrambler. (fixes most of the campers caused by this smart motion tracker)

  4. Put all objective into a single playlist (can leave CTF as it’s own), and remove FFA regicide, just make it FFA. Add the gametype regicide into the FFA list as an option.

  5. Make a BTB-Slyaer and BTB-Objective

  6. Allow a website for gamers to vote what maps they would like entered into MM. I love how many of the older remakes that players have created play with Halo 4, but I’ll never see them in MM. Wouldn’t be that hard, one player, 1 vote.(each player votes for a map per gametype) The top 3 maps are put into next month’s cycle. If that map is played 33% of the time for that month, it stays, the other new adds are dropped, this process repeats every 2 months. Any map that is selected <7% of the time is removed from that gametype.

  7. Throwing odd-ball is removed or drastically reduce the distance. If no reduction or removal, bring back (require X) for pickup.

  8. Flag needs (require X) for pickup. Having only 1 or 2 players being able to run a flag as others generally have a power weapon. Slow the player down, I don’t care, but 1 sniper, 1 rocket, 1 sword = team will rather spawn wreck until one has used up their weapon if the 4th guy is respawning.
