Didn’t like any of them, then again I didn’t like Halo 4 a whole lot so that probably explains it, if I had to chose a few I would have to go with Exile because that was decent at times, would of chosen Skyline as it looked really good but I never got the chance to play it.

No it wasn’t, the games played great without clamber, it wasn’t something people were not banging on Bungie’s door asking for clamber.
And believe me, maps will be altered to facilitate new abilities such as clamber- prime example being Midship/Truth.

Jumping is a skill, if you fail it you fail it and have to try again and learn them, the game shouldn’t have to hold your hand if you fail.

No, if you successfully jump onto it you should be rewarded, not have an ability to just give you instant success for failing.

Jumping was a skill in the early 90’s when developers struggled to grasp 3D design and world navigation. Nowadays jumping is an ability, just like crouching or walking or running these are basic abilities that should be effortless to the play. There is no point in gimping your game by sticking to archaic conventions. Its like saying Tomb Raider from the ps1 is better than its anniversary edition because it takes a lot more skill (effort) to perform basic actions. So lame.
As the mechanics change map remakes get harder. Truth is proof of this in how large it is now compared to Midship. Its isnt a bad thing, but could -Yoink!- the feel of the map that the developers want to remake. I think Halo 4 would have an easier time with this as it already had sprint and thruster packs. I would like to see Haven, and Adrift for small scale maps. I would like to see Longbow, and Exile for the larger maps.
Haven
It was one of the only really good maps from Halo 4.

Yes jumping is a basic ability but it is how you jump and getting the jumps on maps right that is the skill, this is a good example of a jump/jumps that requires skill and practice, you can’t just do it at the hit of a button.
You can do that with clamber too. For people who feel pride in performing basic actions like jumping a ledge they can chose not to press A to climb. For people who have outgrown the wonders of basic 3D movement and is more focused on the shooting clamber is a nice addition.

That could also chose to miss the jump and go to the bottom if they want to, I fail to see the difference between a clamber and a jump in this situation and fail to see what clambers add to the game, the only thing I see it doing is providing an “easy way out” when you fail a jump.

Wouldn’t clamber make it worse for people who like shooting since it moves your gun when you perform the clamber? When your jumping you at least have your gun out.
Could you please define “basic 3D movement” and expand upon what makes clamber not fit under this definition.
The Halo 4 maps suffered from the unbalanced starts and loadouts during multiplayer. A lot of the maps are actually really cool, such as:
Longbow
Exile
Most DLC maps, as I played in them in MCC and they’re amazing
So I would tell 343i to remake Longbow and a Halo 4 DLC map. I do not support Reach maps, as they are based on the campaign and aren’t designed completely for multiplayer. They should also remake some Halo CE maps.

And that’s wrong because…? God forbid a game these days takes some amount of skill, we certainly can’t have that happen.
Pray tell why they SHOULD be effortless.
Anyways that’s not even the original argument. Map design must change in some areas. Ledges that were intentionally too high to jump before must be raised so that they can’t be clambered either. Maybe that’s not significant, but its a change nonetheless.
Haven, Solace, and Skyline
HAVEN!!! Haven should be in there as well as Valhalla
If anything, maybe Abandon. But I prefer they just went the spiritual successor route and make brand new maps instead of taking them from previous games.
i want to see, from H:reach countdown, power house, and from H4, haven and adrift. these would might work with the new abilities. especially Haven and Adrift. maybe day break
im a sucker for classic maps, but I really didn’t find much flaw in H4 MP maps.
I could see any of them working…
I want to see more fore capabilities in the maps shipped in game
We’re not getting Ragnarok back in Halo 5. Ragnarok was a remake of Valhalla. It wouldn’t feel right if a remake-of-a-remake was added

But we’re already getting Bigship.
The best map ever made, The Pit

Basic player mechanics should be effortless, these aspects need to get out of the way of the player for him to focus his skills on what matters. In this case shooting, positioning, communication, map control, etc.
Any turd of a game can be mastered if you’re skilled enough, that doesn’t mean we should indulge developers to be that lazy. We don’t give a free pass when other developers release outdated controls and player movement, and its the same with Halo. Or it should be.
