Narrows.

20 characters.

Edit: most of those maps would play horrible for Infinite btw, just thought I’d add that.

Remakes tend to spice things up or add in new adjustments to better fit the sandbox. Like how with Midship’s remake in Halo 5, the map was made slightly larger to account for sprinting and thrusters.

Desperately need more BTB maps so Blood Gultch for sure. Also a Valhalla and Zanzibar without a doubt as well.

Midship is getting some love I see. They should add a Grapple to it cause that and the Sword will go really well, lmao

I hope they don’t make the maps larger, though. First, Infinite doesn’t need sprint, but regardless, we don’t need former BTB maps feeling like you need to hike a mile just to navigate it, or Zanzibar feeling like you are too far away to engage fights, which historically was very easy to jump into battle.

I disagree.
The current BTB maps are too cluttered, allowing for Spartans to traverse cover-to-cover with ease and avoid sniper-fire due to it.
Meanwhile vehicles are now relegated to roads instead of more open terrain, resulting in the tanks being less effective and all the vehicles to be more easily boarded… especially with the advent of the grapple-shot.

So you want Valhalla to have you mancannon to a quarter of the map rather than the middle hill where all the action was? That’s what I mean. These maps were favored because you could get into action fairly quick, without needing a Vehicle.

Also, Infinite Vehicles are overpowered without narrow pathways and cluttering the map with specific weapons to stop them. Good on 343i for recognizing their Vehicle design flaws, which have really been flaws for a number of Halo games. I don’t support their approach to handling the design flaws, but I appreciate that they recognize that most players on foot stand no chance.

Infinite vehicles have less health than before.
And design flaws?
Halo was always about arsenal dominion.
Someone has the Wraith? Go for the Rocket Launcher.
Someone grabbed the Sword? Go for the Shotgun to blast the stabby boi.
Someone has the sniper rifle? Go get the active camo to slip by them.

Vehicles had hardly any flaws once the handling was settled down.
Now vehicular combat is a joke in Halo Infnite.

I think you have been social engineered to believe that Halo should be a Rock-Paper-Scissors. From my experience, and I’m a boomer gamer, is that when someone has a strong weapon, you use a versatile weapon or grenades which you spawn with. You aren’t required to go on a scavenger hunt to find that one weapon to defend yourself.

The Vehicles are flawed, quite literally because it requires you to stun them or grapple in most cases. You actually should be able to defend yourself off spawn. Halo 2 is a perfect example of Vehicle design where they got terribly wrong, so wrong that they introduced more ways to stop them on maps. Infinite’s Ghost is a good example of flawed, because it just destroys teams, and I usually need to take my next spawn straight to the Grapple and camp for the Ghost.

Anyway, this is a discussion that goes all the way back to 2004 Bungie dot net days, so I’m not going to annoy you with this perspective, haha

The starter weapons are supposed to be just that, starter weapons. Something to get you by. You’re supposed to search for an edge or advantage.

It used to be that the Battle Rifle would be an ideal pickup over the pistol as it will give you range combat potential and out-damage the pistols.

But then Halo Infinite comes around and says “weapon pickups are mostly optional except for the Rocket, Sniper, Sword, and Hammer. Everything else is now fluff.”

Starter weapons are versatile. And you try to control power positions, powerups, and 1-hit kill weapons (ie Sniper, Sword, Rocket, Shotgun). If the starting weapon can’t defend against those items, then it’s not a starting weapon worth exploring (ie Halo 2 SMG). Infinite’s starting weapons are only tolerable, until they add BR starts. You can’t really change my mind on this, because the CE style M6D starts and power items on the map really set how my perspective is on that, and Halo 2’s SMG starts only solidified it.

The Pit seems like it would work great with the movement tach halo Infinite has like slide jumping and such. Would be cool to see.

What is the point of picking up any other guns if the two guns you have are already capable of handling their own then?

The point of starter guns is for you to not be totally defenseless upon respawning. While you still want to give yourself and edge and an upper-hand. Skill is great and all, but skill combined with superior fire-power is what tilts the battle of the match into your victory.

And the M6D wasn’t even supposed to be that powerful.
One dev admitted that he added a bit of code so that when every level loaded in CE, it would buff the base-damage of the sidearm.
Halo 2 they nerfed it down to what they had originally intended the pistol to be - a small-time sidearm.
So because one guy decided to make a joke, the pistol was made a power-weapon at default; capable of slaying Hunters in a single shot and making it so that the Assault Rifle was the go-to weapon to drop in favor of something else.
And the guy who made this alteration even somewhat apologized for his alteration to the pistol.

is not any remake’s from any old halo map’s becoming a big problem in halo infinite?
so there need to chance a lot off things to make it good work in halo infinite so voting for any remake map on this list is more pointless to do now.

Map remakes have always been a staple of Halo. Of any shooter game for that matter. You take something you know works wonderfully and you put it in.

It helps fill up the roster and helps save development time as you don’t have to make a full new map design again, just a slightly edited version of a previous one that was a fan favorite.

That’s basically my point. And powerups, strong positions, and insta-kill weapons are to promote movement.

I know it was an accident, as many successful things Bungie did with the game. I mean they also had Plasma Pistol starts by Default on Blood Gulch, lol, and was that on purpose?

Not sure why you bring Halo 2’s M6C into this cause it wasn’t a nerf; it was a different weapon in order utilize with dual-wielding and nearly useless by itself, which is another mistake for another time. The BR was introduced as the M6D replacement, so you could talk about that, and it was a very good starting weapon which promoted map movement and controlling power positions… in contrast, to the Default SMG starts which promoted you to either hide or sneak around until you can find a BR since the other team all has BRs and Power items by the time you spawn.

If I recall correctly, during either the Halo CE developer commentary or Halo 2 dev commentary, they state that they purposely ensured that the pistol in Halo 2 didn’t hold as much power as it did in CE, with dual-wielding required to fire two-bullets at once to equal the amount of firepower the M6D was supposed to possess.

its sure save development time for sure.
but there are a lot off maps that need to be remake still to make it good playable in halo infinite.
not forget we have hookshot and stuff like that now in the game so a small map like Lockout or Midship are to small for stuff like the hookshot.

its true that map remakes is more a part of the halo serie’s but how there have make halo infinite is that becoming tricky more to remake the old maps for the game.
still you need to chance a lot off things on any map’s there wane remake.
how older the map is how more there need to chance things to make it work in halo infinite.

That is a good point, but it doesn’t have to spawn in every map in the game. Just like how the Sword-Hammer exists only in Recharge by default 4v4 modes.

Maybe all of them + more BTB maps? 1 map isn’t nearly enough.
