What makes you people think that 343i isn’t listening? I’d just like to know and maybe try to tell you what I think. Discuss.
We know they aren’t. We just like discussing.

Because recently a high up 343 developer had no idea that people actually dislike the game. Some lead developers weren’t even aware the game had problems. And what about this?: http://blogs.halowaypoint.com/Headlines/post/2012/12/12/The-Halo-Bulletin-121212.aspx

What are you talking about?
Give a source that the developers claim that the game is problem free and that they think that there is no one that dislikes it.
Give an actual quote.

Regrettably I saw this a month back. A guy referenced a post on NeoGaf (a site I do not watch) with a quote similar to what you asked for. I know you only have my word but I swear this was true. Believe me or not 343 do not watch the forums (or at least not these forums) and why would they? They are sitting 2nd on XBL (until the next load of gimmicky games come along) and have won several biased game of the year awards.

I thought you wouldn’t be able to find a quote.
Since, it would contradict the data that they collected for the TU update that they talked about in the bulletins. Where, they address the glitches that we report. How they are adding certain playlists that we are asking for, how they are adding small maps that we are begging for, etc.
All this data is gathered on the forums.

It’s a shame you can’t believe me, a man’s word used to mean something.
Nevertheless 343 decide what playlists are coming up and they do so with no forum input. The glitches are found by an internal testing teams and MM changes are determined by groups of players being brought in and interviewed (MLG/Walshy playtesting).
Any input this forum has is minimal and any input which is gathered is done so from the official blue tagged threads. The rest is ignored.
They don’t use their own forums, and not because of complainers. There will be critics on every forum.
It would be nice to learn about what 343 is doing from a source that isn’t another website or a tweet.
It is because people for some reason think that 343 is obligated to respond to every post someone makes. (questions usually) They also believe that if they do not respond every time than they are not listening to anyone’s complaints or suggestions which isn’t true. People don’t realize how hard 343 is working and that everyone has lives outside of work so they can’t be there 100% of the time.

Just give me a quote. You are a stranger on the interenet who is claiming that a welcoming gaming company doesn’t listen to their forums. The onus is yours to prove that they don’t listen. They wouldn’t have the forums if they were that useless to them.
Go reread that bulletin you posted. In the link that you did post, even in there 343i responds to the drama about the map design philosophy. This was in response to the drama that the first map pack did not include any 4v4 small maps.

Pretty pathetic point. There are “people” who dislike every game every created. That doesn’t mean the game designers have to bow to those few. In fact even polls on Halowaypoint, the most populated area as far as haters are concerned have historically shown more lovers than haters of Halo 4, thats not even including the non-forum community which I might add is alot larger than the forum community… where complainers are far less concentrated.
Whether or not a vocal minority like or dislike a game is hardly enough basis for a major developer to change their game.
Hate to burst your bubble, but you just AREN’T that important to them when it comes to making the most money. They will always go for the majority and like it or not, that is not the whining competatives, and there is nothing we can do to change that.
Plain and simple:
$ from average players > $ from competitive players
of people not whining >>>> # of people whining
Therefore 343i will not listen, nor from a business perspective should they.

I really wish I had saved that quote now but I can’t pull it out of this air. I have been searching for it but you can’t find -Yoink- on NeoGaf.
The link I did choose was chosen as nowhere does the creative director for the game acknowledge any problems brought up by the community or bring up any suggestions from the community - I should know I created the longest Halo 4 make your own playlist thread.
Nothing.
No statements about classic playlists, nothing about a ranking system, nothing about balances, MLG or falling population. Nothing. And it will stay that way.

We are the silent majority - only a small amount of us exist on the forums the rest left at Halo 3 or Reach.
I give Halo 4 a year to live before it dies, get back to me then.
I am in love with all the reason and logic that has come into the forums over the weekend. I don’t know what sparked the fire, but holy cow people are getting demolished in the last few days. I love it to death.
Lag Warrior and Tripod in particular are on a ‘killing spree’ and what’s fantastic about it all; they did so without ever once getting opinionated. They just ask for concrete details and evidence and people fail on it. Thank you, guys, it’s been a great read so far.
Keep it up.

You sir are a terrible person for thinking the way you do and you should feel bad.
No one here cares about the game from a business perspective.
Also, stop whining about competitive players voicing their opinion. (See what i did there?)

I believe that you should read the bulletins or re-read them if you already have.
MLG- Team Slayer Pro was kicked out of the lineup due to its low numbers. It will come back when it’s improved/MLG actually makes their final playlist.
Ranking system- See the announcement on the CSR. The Competitive Skill Rank, which is coming early this 2013. More news shortly.
Balances- The game will have a large Title Update early 2013. What this entails will be announced shortly after the new year.
Please read the bulletins. It’s sad that they are working on your problems and yet you think that they are not listening.

They’re making some form of a ranking system at some point in time thats not going to be in the game.
Some type of unknown game changes will take place at some unknown point in the future.
Sounds to me like they’re listening!

If they had listened to the community pre-launch then we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.
I know about the CSR and the TU and the MLG playlist but 343 seem to have gone dark about them. They haven’t asked the community for input or preferences. MLG had low numbers because it was not what the community wanted. The CSR was wanted from launch but 343 rushed Halo 4 to be released in line with CoD. The TU were being released weekly but then that stopped (will check up on that now).
If 343 had been listening to their community this thread would be called ‘look at how amazing Halo 4 is!’ and we would both be discussing how forge has weather systems, my recent multiplayer VIP match and discussing how the campaign was over 8 hours long.
