What Makes Spartans So Good?

Something that came up among a few friends of mine while discussing the ever popular nerd pass time of “who would win if”…
Mainly, that aside from perhaps one other series, Spartans, and the UNSC as a whole, seem to be tactical and strategically superior to most other universes. Admittedly we only covered a few of the large ones (Star Wars, Legends and Canon both, Star Trek, a few other video games)…but it still came down to it.

So my question is…why is this? What did Bungie, and now 343, do to make it so that, when compared to other universes, Halo just seems so much better?
I mean, sure most other series don’t have supersoldiers like the Spartans, and those that do are (with the exception of Warhammer 40k) usually kind of lack-luster when compared to them, but there’s gotta be something else…

The fact that most of the franchises Halo is compared to were created 40 or more years ago and (mostly) have stuck to their roots of hard science fiction or fantasy…from 40 years ago. When comparing the Modern with the classic , the modern will almost always win , because they are using newer tech and ideas to build their theories and “science” off of.

It’s hard to stack up when comparing science fiction concepts from different eras. Kind of like comparing sports stars from different eras , it doesn’t really compare as the rules have changed and things have sped up to an almost unimaginable height.
