Hey guys, we’ve been talking a lot about H5’s MP; debating it, discussing balance, so on; and rightfully so.
But not here. Not in this thread. I’d like to discuss ideas for other parts of the game that will extend it’s lifetime far beyond Battlefield, or CoD, or the vast majority of today’s major titles.
For me, Halo, besides its competitive scene, has been about custom games and forge since Halo 3.
Halo 3 introduced both, and I’ve spent nearly as much time in customs on it than playing ranked multiplayer. Say what you will about that, but that’s not the point. My point is that we should be telling 343 what we want and need to make ridiculous, fun, crazy, all-around-good-time-having games and maps.
We need an obscene amount of options for game modes, spawns, and most importantly: player/zombie traits. Forge needs to be built upon even further. These things should go without saying, but with H4’s zombies’ inability to hold weapons, and the great active camo and Alpha Zombie debacle of Halo: Reach, they cleary need to be shouted at the top of our lungs.
I know maybe they need to nail down everything else first, but please 343, from someone who loves these games and this community, you need to gives us the tools we need to lovingly create and recreate games like
-Duck Hunt (- YouTube)
-Halo on Halo (MONGOOSE RAGE (Halo 3 Custom Games!) - YouTube)
-Ghostbusters (That Halo 3 Clan - Ghostbusters on Hide/Seek Town - YouTube)
-Fat Kid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtqE6qkP9kM)
-Smear the -Yoink- (Let's Play: Halo 3 Custom Games [Smear the.. ] - YouTube)
- Run Mexican Run (- YouTube)
-Griffball
-Jenga (JENGA! (Halo 3 Custom Games!) - YouTube)
-Trash Compactor (- YouTube)
-30 Days of Night (Halo 3 Infection! 30 Days of Night - YouTube)
-Ice Cream Man (Game Night: Halo 3 - Ice Cream Man | Rooster Teeth - YouTube)
These are all things that were either impossible or extremely difficult to replicate in H4 and H2A. Or the experience just wasn’t the same.
(Feel free to add to the list.)
(And yes people in those video examples were annoying more often than not.)
And, we need a file share system like Halo: Reach had. Where we can search for games and gametypes, and see the most popular of the two. Thank you in advance for any comments, additions, suggestions, and feedback. If we could get just one or two important members of 343 to write this down on a sticky note, we have succeeded at least a little bit.
Grazie.
