What kind of BS did I come back to?

Seriously, I have been gone for a week and half, almost two because work andmy xbox was broken. And when I get back all I see is Marine spam!? What the hell is this meta? I was seriously wrecked twice in a row because I was over-run with Marines to the point I couldn’t make progress, and that allowed the opponent to get farther ahead techwise without compromising his army.

First game (Arbiter). I had a enforcer/suicide grunt mix (Roughly about 6 enforcers and 3 grunts) 4 marines and a sniper wasted all of them.

Second game (Jerome). I took early map control and was balancing a small marine force with a few snipers to control the map center (ashes, I think(the one with the dual power and supply crates on the purches) but guess what? They got overun by marines again! And Jerome+Theseus couldn’t take on 5 marines, why? A armed hero mantis got wasted by 5 squads! And even Kodaks couldn’t kill them before ODSTs wrecked them (Considering they are artillery, that is what they are supposed to do) and any army comp I had was defeated by a handful of marines, ODSTs, and a nightingale.

Oh, and Banished are unplayable.

Why did 343i have to do this? The game was mostly balanced even when YapYap was released, all they had to do was rework a few things, not lopside the entire game! I read the patch notes and almost sharded myself. They are ruining everything in favor over T1 and early T2. If you want to have a good strategy and something that isn’t a Marine rush, then screw you too!

Thanks 343i because you finally did it, you screwed the pooch on this one.

When it comes to balance in this game it’s like 1 step forward and two steps back every time an update happens

I firmly believe (hope) that the game is more balanced by the last update, if they make it balanced and create more maps I’d say it would beat the original in all ways!

Even though I do prefer this one

It feels like they are trying to balancing everything off of spreadsheets, and less off of actual play-testing.

If I had to guess, their play-test team is one guy who plays against the AI. And sometimes Todd from Accounting.

That being said, I do like this re-balancing more than the last one.

The problem is, they do too much to any given unit when they change it. Why make the rangers more expensive and less effective? That defeats any viability they had as a unit.

One thing at a time, not change the entire game at once. Because they nerfed one or two things on the Forgehog about two weeks ago, it allowed the Hero to be balanced.

Also. Why did they even add power to support and tech centers? That really badly ruins any current econo strats anyone had.

Plot Twist: They’ve been doing tests with Robertson, who is STILL missing.

Have you seen the health bar of Combat Mechanic Marines? Thing is ridiculous now.

And double upgrading grunts gives them one puny health bar chunk.

-Yoink-!

I personally love the marine/ barracks spam- so much better than the hero meta- brings it back to why I liked halo wars 2 in the first place.

Yeah it has good and bad downsides. Finally you see armies that aren’t all counter units with healers and no longer do you see tank wars too. For UNSC mirrors it shows who has the better micro being able to get out your units and take the map control however if your a Banished player your quite screwed at the start until you get into tech2 and have better base killers.
