1-DMR
Who’s idea was it to make a sniper rifle as a spawn weapon?
2-Sniper Rifle
Short spawn times with the ammo upgrade and no descope plus active camo. Gamebreaking
There are explosives for a reason, there is no need for the sniper rifle to be a vehicle killer.
3-Ordnance
That camper with a sniper rifle just ran out of ammo, then you realize he just dropped another sniper rifle. By the time he’s out of ammo with that one the sniper has respwaned.
4-Loadout Plasma pistols and grenades
Why even get in a vehicle?
5-Ragnarok
This map hugely encourages all of halo 4’s flaws
6-BS Deaths
This game is the most frustrating halo of all time. Never do you have a death that isn’t nonsense. Getting shot through a wall, being killed around a corner, and massive explosive radius from complete misses are just a few.
There are more but I don’t have the time to write them
Please in halo 5 work on these main issues because they are truly the problem with halo 4

I concur. I, for one feel that the following may have caused Halo 4’s population to deplete (not kill):
Lags
JIP (especially, however, in some playlists, it pays off)
Lack of player cooperation (seems some players do not want to participate into winning for the team).
Lack of a Classic Playlist (Personally, I like Infinity Settings, but it would have been great to have at least one Playlist with Classic Settings. Similar to Anniversary DLC back in Reach)
However, at this point, I feel that with some new and improved changes on the way, specifically Race, which I am really looking forward too will bring back players.
Can we all just agree to put a stop to these? we know what “killed” halo 4, we were all here, all played it, and I don’t know about the rest of you but after a year of these i am getting tired of watching the same arguement play out over and over again. The best we can do now is hope 343i has heard our complaints and move on.

I disagree as well. H5 needs a ranking system like 3’s and Reachs put together for different goals, remove ordinance, balance loadouts better, make AA’s map pickups except sprint and develop awesome maps.
It was killed because 343 alienated the classic core audience in favor of a casual one. Gimmicks and cheap perks is not what Halo was about. It was the golden triangle. Everyone also started out of equal footing as well.
The lack of classic gameplay at all. In Reach and 3, if you didn’t like equipment/armour abilities, it was fine. You could just turn them off. Same goes for bloom with the MLG playlists. In H4, you can’t turn off flinch or Bloom, you also can’t turn off sprint.
Actually, it was GTA V, I’m sure… our population was sliced in half once that game was released. Also, a lot of playlists have been removed, and others have been butchered… that experiment with the DLC requirement in Team Slayer didn’t go to well, and there are still problems with other playlists; like the presence of Settler in Big Team Battle.
Me? I stopped playing (for the time being) because of what they did to Spartan Ops; turning on forced skulls in both matchmaking and custom games. Spartan Ops is not fun with Mythic and Grunt Birthday Party. I’ll come back when they turn the skulls off.
While multiplayer drove one of the biggest nails into Halo 4’s coffin, it wasn’t the only thing that destroyed the game
-343 themselves were mediocre/laughable custodians of matchmaking, in terms of delivering actual balance to the game and optimising DLC matchups.
-Custom Games across the board was a complete mockery and didn’t deserve the preface “Custom”. What made it worse was that the custom game system developed 6 years ago is still superior.
-Spartan Ops, while opinions are split, personally was an awful component of the game. No doubt it had best intentions (replace “Mr Wallace” with “Halo 4”), but it failed to deliver. Sub par writing and monotonous gameplay leaves this game with little to remember.
-Forge in 4 really did nothing to distance itself from the Forge we had in Halo: Reach, christ we still had the exact same forge palette. Sure enough duplicate and magnets for the most part were welcomed features but for me didn’t balance out the blatant flaws.
-Lack of file share system at launch destroyed the flow of community created content and the synergy between Custom Games and Forge. The duality of these two modes is something I attribute to the longevity of Halo 3.

This is what we need! I’m BEYOND tired of games and Halo was the last one to change to this “Ranking up” just by playing crap!! I wish they didn’t… You want to have Exp. to unlock different armour looks, That’s fine…but if you want that General Rank you have to earn it by WINS! and WINS Only!!
I’ve never understood this reward people for playing or playing like crap thing. Oh you went -15 …RANK Up!!! really??? come on people! Who misses the old days of you have to EARN that High rank!
Hence I love it how H3 right now has more people then H4,reach etc (yes I know the game was free, but still)
I think for me the big killers were Bullet Magnetism/Auto Aim, and no ranking system.
When playing with some friends for the first time, both of whom are occasional players, the first complaints they had were how easy it was to shoot someone, and how overpowered the power weapons were. When going back to Halo 4 after playing any of the other Halos, the ease with which you can shoot someone sticks out like a sore thumb.
The skill of aiming has been all but removed. The DMR in Zero-Bloom settings in Reach was a profoundly difficult gun to shoot with at range. The DMR in Halo 4, with its negligent bloom and jacked up bullet magnetism is a cross-mapping weapon of mass destruction. Not because of its kill time, but because it requires very little precision to achieve perfect results because the bullet magnetism is so high. Sniping, Rockets, even automatic weapons were all made significantly easier to use.
We’ve all seen the videos showcasing the bullet magnetism in Halo 4. This is the most noticeable thing for me when I hop into Halo 4 after playing elsewhere. If I could shoot the DMR/BR/Carbine/Lightrifle perfectly after having Halo 4 for a day, then what do I do after a week?
I don’t think I need to say much about Ranks. Every other competitive multiplayer game maintains its core audience with leaderboards and ranks (LoL, SC2, CoD, etc). Halo had a proud history of an online ranking system. If you had friends who played Halo 2 or 3, one of the first things you would ask them was their skill rank. That history ended with Reach, and now, with the core Halo audience gone, is all but dead.
TD;DR:
They removed the core skill of shooting a weapon accurately, followed up by removing any measurable sense of skill in the game at all. There were a million smaller things (AAs, Perks, No weapons on maps) that added to this effect, but I think Ranks and Auto-Aim were the two big things which combined to kill Halo.
I still say that the lack of a local only search filter is the first reason why people stopped playing Halo 4 over all those other reasons that people can disagree with.
> The best we can do now is hope 343i has heard our complaints and move on.
Just because they heard our complaints doesn’t mean they’ll do anything about them. Ask folks who asked for custom game improvements. Or Theater improvements.
Lack of classic Halo (Maps/Game types) and Join in Progress are what hurt Halo 4 for me, then the decline in population pretty much killed it for me. I still play every now and then, but only because friends ask me to.

This, and also BSangel said in one post that the people who want a classic halo experience are a minority so… what does this mean? it means that the people who want a cod game with halo skins are the mayority of halo players. and that means that we can all forget about a classic experience, an also that the next game will have even more cod elements lol xD

Really? It’s a Marksman Rifle. It’s supposed to excel at range. Do you know nothing of real weaponry?
Don’t get mad at someone else for beating you and/or having a different play style than you do.
Happens in every single Halo game. You’re over a decade late.
You want people in that pre-TU Guass Hog going 85-0 because you had no means of taking it out? Then what? Team mates quit and you’re all alone, that’s what.
You’re thinking of Complex.
Lag. Get used to it because it’s not going away in Halo 4. At least it’s not as bad as Halo 2 was in terms of lag. Be thankful for that. And just because you thought you were far enough away from that Frag, doesn’t mean you really were if you died from it. That’s kind of how grenades work.
I am a life long Halo fan, as well as all of my friends on XBL. We have played halo together some nights for 6+ hours at a time every night! Yet NONE of us play this game anymore. Halo 4 is dead. It was all but a failure of a game. SO many broken mechanics its just not fun anymore. Myself and all of my friends have moved on to GTA online and we all have a blast every night. I highly recommend it to anyone.
