What keeps you on reach?

As the title States, what keeps you on Halo Reach?

For me, Halo Reach was the game that was accompanied by my Xbox 360 when I bought it, three months after Reach’s release. I played Halo 3 and it was decent, I was more inclined to Call of Duty at the time when I’d play at my neighbor’s house. Halo was nothing more than an FPS…

… Until I played Reach. I remember my first Matchmaking game in Halo Reach was a game of Grifball in the Summer of 2011. I probably let my team down, but that sprung my love for Grifball, which keeps me on Reach today. I play slayer on Halo 4 a little more since the experience is a little better for me but Reach remains my favorite game, in fact it’s basically the only game I play. Grifball and Assassinations gametype are the reasons I play today/daily (odd reason, but who cares?).

What say you?

Ok you and other people might laugh your face off but, and I am totally telling the truth here, the only reason I play Halo Reach is the falcon.

Go ahead laugh it up but if you look at my profile on waypoint it even says this, I love playing with teammates. It’s just so tactical when one of your guys is getting pounded by three others and you just land in the middle and your gunner mows the three down and your guy hops aboard leaving the three to stare.

I have stayed in Reach because it is still more competitive than Halo 4 and you can find a game as opposed to MCC. That and also most of my friends still play Reach as well because they all hated the gameplay in Halo 4 too.

  1. The weapons. Reach is the only Halo game where you can’t just mash the trigger when you have a weapon like the DMR. I’d rather have players actively thinking about their shots rather than just mashing the trigger.

Reach has the best:

  1. Infection playlist

  2. Custom games

  3. Armor customization

  4. Halo is becoming a faster paced game with the addition of spartan abilities. While I don’t mind these changes, it does make the game feel a bit more like a twitch shooter and I find it more relaxing to play at Reach’s more tactical pace.

  5. History. Reach has been around longer, I’ve had it longer than any other Halo game. While I’ve played CE, 2, and 3, they belonged to a friend and didn’t get to play on my own. Reach was the first Halo game I owned, and I’m more in tune with it than any other Halo game.

dude reach is amazing…story, gameplay, modes etc… also it started griffball!

i really wish they would update reach come to think of it :frowning:

Reach just receives routine server maintenance, but it’s better than nothing! I agree, grifball is awesome, and Reach got it right!

Actually Grifball started in Halo 3 customs and became so popular they made its own playlist. Similar as to how infection games in halo 3 came from Halo 2 customs.

1.) Large population
2.) Lots of customization options
3.) Great Custom Games

343 screwed up with halo 4 in comparison to halo reach. I also just enjoy the load outs.

The reason i like reach is.

  • The weapons - Have great feel to them
  • Gausshog - The gauss is beautiful on that game unlike halo 4
  • The Armour customization - The Armour is just great on it … well most anyway

But overall i love all halo’s that includes 343i halo 4 and mcc which are still decent games.

Reach has a great weapon variety and Invasion is a great gametype. They needed more maps for it though. Having 2 and a DLC don’t cut it. I like that they added forge made invasion, but the maps are drab.

The main reasons I still play it are:

  • Custom games and maps
  • Even starts, or at least the same loadouts
  • In my opinion, some of the best maps in Halo
  • The ranking system, which I’m still working on.

I like reach because of the MLG playlist! I also find it to be more competitive than Halo 4.

It’s classic, nothing beats a classic. That’s all I can say.

Agreed, however many players would argue that Reach, despite its feats, isn’t a classic.

I like Reach’s engine and the gameplay, its just fun to play and mess around in big team

It has the best campaign

What keeps me on Reach is being able to play the Campaign and Matchmaking with two of my friends and do pretty well.

Reach just gives me a classic Halo feel that 4 seems to lack.
