What keeps you coming back?

Im struggling to want to play more of this game. Which is sad. The gameplay is very fun. But There isnt anything to keep me coming back and playing. Near zero customization unless you buy the battle pass. No stat tracking or medal counts. No leaderboards. Why bring back all these accuracy stats and not have a way to keep tabs on it. I really wanna keep playing this game. What keeps you guys wanting to play?

The hope that it will get better

Its rough but has potential.
At the moment fun factor but I keep getting dropped at the end of matches and my challenges only track 50% of the time so progression isn’t a draw for me at all.
Yesterday I got a ban after the game bugged out 3 times, 2 stalls and a hard crash.
So there’s more pushing me away from the game than drawing me back right now.
The beta, sorry I mean the actual beta, the flights, were way more stable for me and progression was better also imo.
Challenges aren’t fun so progression is tied to not enjoying the game a fair amount of the time.
The an error occurred in matchmaking thing is frequent.
I’m getting pretty annoyed by the lack of player collision 2 the commando is tricky enough without 3 dudes phasing into line of sight.
My biggest issue is the map variety.
All similar aesthetics and 3 btb maps doesn’t bode well for fatigue.
Still a fun game just not convinced its enough after such a long road to launch.
Campaign will be awesome though.

Fun, I play for fun.
Though the barebone release will eventually take its toll.
Also struggling hard with the aiming, torturing myself with it, hit register inconsistencies and phasing allies disrupting me are really tearing in me.

I play it because it’s fun and I come back to it because I want to have more fun.

I’d recommend taking a break from this game. It has less content than early access titles. It shouldn’t have been rushed for a holiday release. This game needs another year to get it right.

I can understand its fun, but im thinking long term. I have no problem playing the same maps and gametypes if there were Stats and leaderboards, but I feel like after a while I will have the feeling of “I dont have anything to shoot for”

Yeah I cant have any amounts of fun in Quick Play. AR starts are okay if it wasnt so OP. And the Sidekick spam is annoying. BTB is fun but spending a minute each spawn waiting for a BR is a drag. Ranked is great but too forgiving and i dont really like performance based ranking. It encourages selfish play.

I really enjoy customization, every game I play that has customization, I use it. Unless, of course, it requires a lot of money, which for me isn’t too high of a bar to reach “a lot”. I’ll pay ten bucks for the battlepass, but I’m not paying to skip levels, so right now I hate that I, and many others I have played with are just “default but this color”.

But this game is too damn fun to put down. Despite one of my favorite parts of the game being non existent right now because I don’t have anything for it, the gameplay to me is just too much fun to stop playing. Big Team Battle is just such a blast.

progression system aside, I really am enjoying this halo
Halo, has always, always been my game, it just clicked with me.
I’ve never been good at COD I suck terribly at battlefield, halo?..I can do halo…
What keeps me coming back is that this is…bar none, without equivocation, the best halo game since H3…

I’m an old man at this point, I’ll be 40 in december…but man if I don’t geel like I’m 24 again destroying noobs on H3

Currently for me it’s exploring the limits of the sandbox and maps. So many paths to take in the maps and so many different interactions between vehicles, equipment and weapons.
In MCC and H5 on every spawn you know the most optimal starting path and strategy, here you can still experiment and I love that.

My biggest hope for December 8th (for multiplayer) is a fully outfitted custom gamemode creator. The current one is lacking severely and what keeps me in Halo is creating my own stuff and playing it with friends.

There is always more to learn about the game so that has always been more important to me than “stats” broadly speaking so that will keep my coming back in their place.

Long term I expect 343 will add in missing game modes and new maps and that’s honestly all I really need (in addition to an active population) to keep this fun because IMO there is a lot of depth to the gameplay. Once they add forge and custom game browser… Chef’s kiss

Probably a lot of us are from the gaming era where we didn’t play games for rewards, but the experience. I got addicted to sweating (trying, anyway) in H3 and that’s carried through every shooter I’ve played. I don’t need customization (though it’s nice). I don’t need a battlepass. I don’t need anything but a BR, 7 guys and an oddball and I’ll play for hours upon hours every day.

I can see where you’re coming from, but its not about the era of just enjoying games, people enjoy them for lots of different reasons and everyone has never been the same, some hunt achievements or want to look the best, some people just enjoy winning. I’ve never enjoying being super sweaty tbh.

& I started not giving a crap how I looked but now I actually enjoy the immersion (i love being in the worls im playing) and unique identity I can create within games nowadays as they’ve evolved and changed, but it really hurts when I log in and play a game where everyone looks exactly the same.

I amagine i will just play this game till I achieve what i want to and move on i guess. Like a good season in ranked a couple good clips. Im a Leaderboard or medal guy. I love to see tallies of certain weapons or medals. Im hopeful something like that will come. I will say that im thankful that the game is atleast fun. As Halo 4 and 5 werent really. But im not sure how long i will stick around

This keeps me coming back. This is the best multiplayer FPS I have played since Halo 3. It has potential to be better than Halo 3. I never thought I would say that about a game made by 343, but here we are. This game is excellent.

I don’t know if I’m more amused, confused, or sad that fun gameplay is no longer what people seem to be motivated by in a video game.

Honestly, my nostalgia and passion for Halo, there are so many other games out there that are much more fun, but I love Halo too much, ah well.

Halo Multiplayer always has its charm.
Once Forge is out and Custom Browsers are in full swing, the game will last for decades.

Look at Halo MCC. All these old games. So many memories. People still playing despite Infinite MP being out.

The core gameplay loop. I find that fun and it’s arguably the most important factor.

That being said, there are areas like progression and customization that I find lacking. And while I’m not thrilled about them, I realize these can be tweaked and expanded over time so I’m not ready to quit the game solely because of them. They don’t make me hate the game, which seems like a lot of people assume whenever you say something could be handled better.

Honestly, its just really -Yoink!- fun! Yeah progression isnt fully there just yet and as such customization is a tad slow. But thebgameplay loop just has me completely hooked.
