Halo fans.First off let me thank you for taking part in My 'Why are you a Fan of Halo"I ask you to keep voting so we get the more accurate result. It can be found in the General disscusion .
Now I have another interesting Question to ask of You.What Keeps Halo Alive?
Is it the Multiplayer with AGL,and other things or the Story with Books,Videos,Campaigns and other Media?.Multiplayer does keep the Game alive but what is the biggest Factor that keeps the Franchise going? What part keeps Fans Buying Halo game after Halo game?Is it the Multiplayer or the Story? I am going with the Story.
Note there is both option so to make sure of a more accurate result.
The story 100% Halo has such an amazing story and it could take years to explain the whole Halo story which makes so much more interesting and better than Call of duty
Yet again, why is there no both option? Halo needs a good strong multiplayer and a compelling and interesting universe/ story to survive.

I anwsered that in my Note in the Opening thread.
The story. That’s what the original game succeeded by even if subsequent games were co-opted by misplaced competitive interests and it remains the core identity of Halo (see: how you can still make a game about the master chief) despite that.
Take away Halo’s single player and where would we be? No where.
Then again, Halo became famous not just for it’s great story, But for it’s game play.
i didn’t even play the campaign til a month after i hit 130. and boy did it suck. i did solo legendary, was easy, very boring and just lots of button pushing. i skipped all the cut scenes and i felt like i had to force myself to not just walkaway halfway through most of the boring levels.

Adding a both option will not make your results less accurate. I asked because i want you to go in depth into your reasoning behind not having a both option. If anything you are making your results less accurate by making people such as myself vote for options they don’t want to vote for.

Yes and that was developed for it’s campaign. Multiplayer was and in many respects still is an attachment. Bungie never intended for that part of the game to be a primary selling point. It was simply there for a niche audience (at the time) to make use of, much the same as Mechwarrior’s, Jedi Knight’s, or Shogo’s multiplayer.
That changed with the xbox and the couche experience which expanded into xbox live. Still though the sandbox hasn’t fundamentally changed. Between “power weapons” and vehicles our game is still designed for a campaign minus the tedious pruning away of variety and depth in order to satisfy the perverse competitive need for consistency.

Agreed.Took the words right out of my mouth.
Both, saying only one would be foolish.
The story explains everything, why you’re fighting, what you’re fighting, and what’s happening. Master Chief is the iconic figure of the Halo franchise, but he’s never appeared in multiplayer. His story creates a massive appeal to the universe and game as a whole.
The multiplayer lets you continue the fight, even after you’ve finished it. We all know that without multiplayer, Halo would get boring pretty fast, but that’s not to say the game could survive without the story. Just as playing the same Campaign mission endlessly gets stale, endlessly killing in Matchmaking does the same.
They’re both necessary for any successful Halo game to last long. Don’t believe me? Look at ODST, it had a wonderful story, but the lack of any solid multiplayer other than Firefight caused it to be short-lived.
So, can you please add a Both option?
