Keep it realistic and put some detail.
No forge, bad ranking system, and bloom.
Keep it realistic and put some detail.
No forge, bad ranking system, and bloom.
no good plotline
Bloom
Grey multiplayer maps (cough cough Bungie)
Bloom
Plotline
Gray, or as Bungie put it, “More Gritty” graphics
Sprint, bloom, loadouts, bad maps, no ranking system, and no strafe.
No BR
No 1-50 system brought back
A rating system being the main way of ranking people when it should be based purely on win/loss
Bad maps
Boring colorless, textureless forge maps
Campaign: Empty plotline. Lack of easter eggs. No terminals. Skulls we cant search for.
Multiplayer: Armor abilities are still over powered. Maps are dull. No cover. Over-powered weapons. Sword Base. Anniversary Pistol(well, that one isnt so realistic)
Other: Less control over forge. Less control ove custom games. File browser is filled with more little kids make naked anime. Servers crash every 5 seconds. No one buys it.
> Campaign: Armor abilities are still over powered.
Uhhh try armor abilities being in the game period.
Also if H4 is anything like Reach, the worst Halo game.

Improved concepts of Reach that are…the same thing really. 343 overhypes the game saying it’s going to feature new “powers” that the Chief can use due to an upgrade with a new suit and bloom will be returning in a limited form that makes sense competitively (which happens to be the exact opposite). Halo 4 gets delayed to focus on quality, only to show that the final is inferior to the hype trailers (343 look to Bethseda to over hype a game and exceed all expectations at launch).
Graphics look good but not late Gen good. Storyline is your average sci fi fare and only lasts 8 hours with no skull hunting or replayability. Ranked is regulated to one playlist again and we have 100 different social playlists labeled competitive under the excuse that Halo 4, it’s MP, and it’s story will be designed to introduce newcomers to the series (isn’t that what CE:A and wikis are for? Developers have to stop catering to newbies, they have to figure out some things for themselves. Ease up on the hand holding.)
MP maps are built first to double as Campaign levels as to enhance the quality while maintaining maximum creativity (herp derp).

We’ve already seen that the thruster pack is making a return. So I cant say that they arent going to be there. the best we can hope for is that its the only one, campaign only, and hopefully cutscene only.
an Easter egg of Sargent Johnson eating oatmeal
I’m not so worried about the Multiplayer for now, maybe as we get some little info on multiplayer then I’ll start to give my two cents. As of right now, all I can think about is the campaign. What sort of things can kill the campagin? Well, a bunch of characters introduced in the game that no one will care about, a broken plotline with maybe some horrendous dialogue (I’m sorry, I found Halo: Reach’s characters probably the worse type of characters ever in a video game. They never packed a punch in terms of character building and at points the dialogue between the characters were laughable. I know Bungie’s goal was to create a character driven story, but their attempt was pretty bad in my opinion)
If it combined the bad things from all previous Halos:
CE’s loose controls (esspecially on vehicles) and indestructable vehicles
H2’s pop in graphics and too open end.
H3’s lack of depth in terms of story, and it’s out of place overly optimistic NPC’s and way too bright coloring.
ODST’s very linear leveldesign (from the flashback missions) and no Matchmaking for FF.
and Reach’s AA’s, maps from campaign and Bloom.
But then again: that scenario is highly unlikely
Although I must say if they go back to what H3 did, and basically change almost nothing I would still enjoy the game but also be very let down. I hope H4 will feel like classic Halo, but with 343i’s own spirit and ideas put into it.
Worst case scenario? People expecting the worst out of Halo 4. Seriously. The level of negativity in this forum shot up at a terrifying rate.
Worst case scenario for Halo 4?
343 Industries pays more attention to the Multiplayer rather then the Campaign then focuses on Matchmaking being a priority. The Anniversary Maps are already terrible for making Machinima on and I can’t even use half of them because they are all set in Halo Installations or somewhere off in an unknown Forerunner Facility.
Breakneck, Solitarty and Penance are the only maps that can really be used for my Machinima Series, Wings of Equilibria. The rest of the maps can’t be used at all since they fall under the category above.
So 343 Industries paying full attention into making the Matchmaking appeal to the Hardcore Markets whilst forgetting the important things like Forge, Theater, Custom Games and a multitude of Chaotic, Community Craziness going on.

Welcome to the internet: the most depressing and negative place mankind ever created…
Then again: with all the negativity the game can only turn out to be better than most expect it to…although I doubt people are willing to admit that…

Pah net negativity pales in comparison to real world negativity, in fact the former is rather trivial. The thread did indeed ask for worst case scenario…is it a crime to speculate on the possibilities regardless if you find them negative?
To be honest, i think Halo 4 will do fine but this thread was a good outlet to get negativity out of me though. I soooo pumped!
They delay it for a year to improve graphics.
> They delay it for a year to improve graphics.
well, that wouldn’t be a worst case scenario, as it would mean the game would look better, although unless, they delayed it until the xbox 720 came out, i don’t think they would be able to, I’m betting this game will have the best graphics that the 360 can handle
Bad Campaign/Plot line
Unbalanced Gameplay
If it doesn’t feel like Halo-esk when I’m playing
