This isn’t a rant or complaint, just an inquiry. The question is simple:
What is your (or your company’s) justification for farming on warzone?
Now let me make this clear… I am not looking for WHY you farm, (ex. For commendations or for armor) but what justification you have for doing it (what gives you the right to do it?)
I am not condoning or blaming anyone for anything, nor am I going to reply or debate anyone’s responses. I just want to see your answers.
There are commendations that are related to unlocking a certain armor. Sorry…
on a side note I normally play solo so when it happens in warzone I kinda “join in” on the fun. Sorry but it happens to me too…just part of the game. It sucks but eventually it will end.
Your in luck though because I’m sure some of not most will flock to warzone firefight. Enjoy your battlefield this weekend

LOL…eventually it will end. Join in on the fun. It will not end for a long time, the game will be nearly dead before it ends unless fixed.
Well it depends what is your definition of farming
Sometines ppl farm because they are waiting for that 10mins mark to get the max possible rewards.
Sometimes i can get 40++ kills from a single game using a ultra banshee-not x3 capped yet
So i dont know if thats considered farming
My justification to any farming that goes on in halo is revenge, if I see people trying to initiate the farming process on my group, you better hope we don’t break out cuz we give just as good as we get.
It’s flat out spawn trapping. When you can’t even take steps without being killed, how is that fair. When it gets to that point in the game I just quit respawning and wait for the game to be over.
I finally get why people were in such a fuss about this. It finally happened to me, and I can say 100% it is absolutely annoying.

> Remember, every kill counts. So ‘farm’ away. It’s not our fault that the requirements are so. It is 343 Industries’ fault.
Is it 343s fault on CTF games where people don’t cap the last flag but rather hold it and rack up kills? Farming is on the player, not the game.
It is human nature. What justification is needed. I don’t farm because I don’t like to be farmed and 99% of the time I play warzone assault solo. The other team wants to raise their individual k/d, maybe they want the commendations, etc… You have the same opportunity and goals they have. If you tap the right trigger on your controller then you are trying to kill the other person. That is the point of halo. Destroying the core is just a side quest but Halo multiplayer main story is kill your enemy. If they didn’t kill you, would you try to kill them?

You’re right, the objective is to kill, but I’m not one of those guys who’ll run past a wide open exposed core just to get kills, I’ll end it right there. It’s called sportsmanship. In football games the team with the higher score wins, so if there’s 5 seconds left and the score is 50-0 what do you do? You’d expect the winning team to kneel the ball rather than go for the extra points. Same applies here. I know I have the win, no need to add insult to injury.
I don’t do it in this game, but think about it in these terms: People enjoy farming for the same reason people enjoy firefight. It’s fun to shoot things, even when it’s easy.
A long time ago my justification was:
-Weapon/Vehicle/AI Comm
-Guaranteed wins
-REQs/Exp
-Efficient use of boosts
However, at the end of the day it came down to competition. Anyone could set up a 12-man fireteam, but setting up a good wz was the tough part. The goal was always to beat the big name SP companies at their own game, so every game was a chance to improve. How fast can we triple cap? How may people do we send to X? Do we really need Y? Who can fill what role best? Which REQs are efficient? What’s the best paths to move through? Is the boss kill more important than the middle objective? Every team runs this strategy, can we find a better one? That was the fun part. The grind with farming was that it was boring. At 16 minutes I always wanted it to end, but I needed to satisfy the completionist in me.
At times I felt bad, but I kept playing against the same people. They never improved. They never changed up their playstyle to get better. Then I figured why should I feel bad for this person when they aren’t even seeking to improve themselves? I was in their exact same situation, but I searched for players through waypoint forums, lfg, and just random players I met throughout matchmaking. I improved my loadout weapon skill, so I’d never have to rely on REQs. I learned boss times and found tricks to kill them solo. I just improved.
At the end of the day I felt no pity for the enemy team because this game is a competition. Someone wins and someone loses. What I did to get better is what anyone could do, but if they don’t seek out the advantages or they feel they’re above them then that person is their own worst enemy. They’ll always be at the enemy team’s mercy.
Still like I said before I don’t farm any more. All the REQs are completed, comms are close to where I want them, and I can work to get Achilles in Arena. Farming was boring, but it was a useful evil. Never once bought a REQ pack.
You don’t need to justify a legitimate style of play to anyone. You can call it whatever you want, but at the end of the day, its perfectly legitimate. I don’t enjoy being farmed, but I will do it if we have all three bases and we don’t want the game to end. Granted, its not a “tactic” like spawn trapping in Assault, but its not against the rules and its perfectly fine to do it.
It doesn’t matter how good of a player you are, if you and only one or two friends go in and you match a team that knows what they’re doing and decides to farm you, you’re done for. It’s life, move on.
People. No one ever says its against the rules. We all agree it’s a legitimate strategy. We’re just saying you’re an -Yoink- for doing it. That’s all.
I put on an active camo to get a really in-depth view of the wild farmer in his natural habitat the other day, and just crouched in the corner of the core room. Several times I saw trains of three or four people run past the core, with zero resistance, past the ten minute mark. You can call it what you want, I call it being a -Yoink-.

This is an appropriate comparison. You’re the better team. We get it. Take a knee. End it with come semblance of class.
