My personal favorite Halo moment is when the Arbiter finally kills the Prophet of Truth. It was so satisfying to see the Arbiter kill the one who betrayed the Elites, ordered him executed, and lied to him. What’s your favorite Halo moment?
The ODST drop cut scene in halo 2
Gonna have to say, the very end if H3. That paired with the start if H4 is just legendary.
My favorite moment personally occurred in the all might forges of Halo 3. I was forging alone on that one map with all the giant silos and radar dishes (Standoff), and I was getting a little irritated with trying to make a racing map on there. I went to get my juice and when I came back, my screen was looking straight up toward the sky. With one hand, I struggled to get it leveled, but when I finally did, I enjoyed what I saw. The large array of satellite dishes blended with the sunset and the mainly African based plateaus of Halo 2 and 3 were beautiful to me.
My second favorite was the morning of that 2010 Christmas, when I finally got Halo: Reach. Two of my other friends got it that same day with me, and well all rode Halo: Reach out as far as we could together. I didn’t know it because I was young, but it was the beginning, and the end of “…one helluva ride”.
My campaign favorite was during Halo 2; during your play through as the Arbiter, you get reinforcements and you go through the rest of the mission in a big push, all different forms of flood everywhere, ready to kill you from any corner, ridge line, or in any vehicle.
The ending cutscene of The Storm in Halo 3.
Either the end of Pillar of Autumn in Reach (utilizing that mass driver? OH MAN), Chief riding the bomb out of Cairo Station, or pretty much the entireny of The Breaking in Halo 5…Blue Team facing near impossible odds that would have crushed a lesser Spartan team…but as always, they survive, they win. Because thats what they DO. They’re BLUE TEAM.
Honestly, gonna break the trend here.
But, my favorite was in the beginning of Ark in H3, when Johnson’s pelican was dropped from the frigate.
I don’t know why it’s just so magnificent to me.
Exactly what you said with Arbiter and Chief finally bringing an end to The Covenant once and for and Arby slaying The Prophet of Truth. Another runner up moment is the final cutscene between Chief and Cortana at the end of 4. Both such powerful moments in the series.
“To give the Covenant back their bomb.”
I’ll go with the intro of H3: ODST. That drop pod scene was simply amazing. From the mission briefing, to the ship slipspacing and the pod collision, it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
“Were it so Easy.”
Halo Reach Campaign
If we are referring to strictly just the games, then my favorite moment is when John reunites with Cortana in Halo 3.
In the entire franchise however, when Bornstellar finally settles down with Chant-to-Green and their child on a remote planet somewhere in another Galaxy presumably in our Local Cluster, ending Bornstellar’s and by extension, the Forerunners’ story arch in the Halo Fractures untitled epilogue. I’ve personally dubbed it “A Great Journey.”

Hmmm, from each game it would have to be…
Halo CE: When Chief and the Marines storm the beach
Halo 2: The skirmish between the Elites and Brutes with Hunters and Drones in the Mausoleum of the Arbiter, it blew me away
Halo 3: The final warthog run on Halo Installation 04B
Halo 3: ODST: Dropping feet first into hell
Halo: Reach: Assisting ODSTs and Army troopers in evacuating civilians from New Alexandria
Halo 4: A missing legend fighting alongside Marines and the Spartan-IVs on Infinity
Halo 5: Going to war with the last of the Covenant remnants alongside the Swords of Sanghelios and the Arbiter on their home planet
I like the CE ending.
My favorite moment is in Halo: CE, in the last mission when you have to get into the Pillar of Autum all by yourselve, destroy the ship, and at last take a warthog and escape with the time cronometer in your screen, and you think that ECO 429 will save but then she get shoot! But finally you scape in another ship! The complete level is just so amazing!
Don’t forget the after crdeits scene when Johnson and an Elite are forcing to get a gun and everybody are dead, that was pretty funny, a reason to end the level in legendary difficulty
At the moment my favorite would have to be the beginning of New Alexandria. Either that, or the last stand all the way to the epilogue.
But I will think of another later, as there is no shortage.

Or how about “The End of Our Journey”?
But seriously that is one of the most beautiful pieces of writing in Halo.
Mine is in the Halo 3 trailer. The whole damn trailer.
Playing Halo Wars on Legendary on the level where you need to get the reactor up that hill. Well I kept getting my frontal assault blocked by scarabs so I made a defensive line, move the reactor behind the base and noticed the point I needed to get to at the top of the map was highlighted. So I got an idea, “maybe ODSTs can get up there?” So I focus my resources on healing my line, upgrading Marines into ODSTs and the elephant upgrades.
I get the ODSTs as a scarab destroyed half my line so I spammed the hell out of them on the top of the map and took out the base on top. As I did so the ODSTs yelled “WE DON’T NEED NO SPARTANS!!!” And BOOM! Based destroyed! Not only was this an awesome moment for me, as it was finally some real progress that lead to victory, its also the first, and to my memory ONLY, time the rivalry between Spartans and ODSTs is mentioned outside of the expanded media. I honestly don’t think anything can top that moment.
