my favorite charactter to halo5 it buck and master chief
None. They all suck. What they did to Master Chief, Blue Team, Cortana, and Buck is unforgivable.
All the characters were bland, even Buck doesn’t seem to act like the way he did in ODST, I didn’t like how Osiris was forced on us, and the introduction of Blue team was poorly executed. Overall I like exuberant witness.
Roland and Exuberant Witness, easily.
Out of the Main 8… Locke I guess? He shows a bit of character development if you look hard enough. The ONI hitman who had both Chief and Arbiter as targets at one point, and ends up having to save both of them.
Chief
For the campaign, I’d have to say Buck, loved his cameo in Reach, loved H3 ODST. After that, my semi canon (as much as any of us are) multiplayer Spartan IV.
Witness is a pretty cool new character.
Exuberant Witness is my favorite new character, nice to have a monitor back in the mix. I’d like to know if she has a number of imprints like 343 Guilty Spark.
Halo 5 had “characters?” I never noticed.
Seriously tho, I can’t really pick a favorite cuz so much was lacking. False advertising and pretty much no character development to just about everyone. Buck was out of place, Cortana is evil (they just had to -Yoink- up my favorite character in franchise rather than just leaving her dead), chief degraded back to the same old Boring chief in 1-3, halo 4 became irrelevant, blue team had nothing (meaning little to nothing)mentioned about them, we get a tidbit about Osiris and then that’s it, ect ect ect. List can go on.
Im suprised by the exuberant comments, would’ve figured she’d need more screen time to really become a favorite.

Vale (my favorite creation from 343 character wise) actually has an interesting story to her outside of the game. Was really hoping for h5 to expand on it or at least mention what was developed outside the game, shame really.

I’m sure we’ll see more character development and back story to her in the future. We’ll probably see more books about that though.

I don’t think 343 will even try to continue on Osiris in game. H6 odds are will be about closing Chiefs story down. Osiris wasn’t really received well which is why I doubt we’ll see continued development to them.
my issue with using books to expand on characters is they shouldn’t be what really develops them. They’re supposed to expand on what the games do with them. BioWare is a great example that does it justice. Ton of development to their characters in game and they offer the books to then expand off that. With halo you learn more by book than in game, which sets things off terribly. Only the hardcore fans will even bother with books or anything outside of the game when it comes to this, it’s why majority won’t know who blue team even is or why they should care about half of Osiris. People don’t go out of their way to read books, especially with gaming.
