So, I just finished a game of Halo. I got 11 kills. Not my best, but not bad, right? Apparently so. My own teammate messages me to tell me that I’m -Yoink!- as he got 21 kills.
Since Halo when was the Halo community this bad?
It reminds me of this video here:

Seriously…
Since the beginning.
Its the internet world dude. poop messaging was far more prevelant in older titles
Just move on. To be fair i’ve never been messaged. Kinda feel like i’m missing out on an experience.
I would just report and block communications and move on to the next game
Don’t judge a community based on one person- that person doesn’t belong to the halo community. He isn’t there to play halo. He’s there to get his jollies trolling and trying to get into arguments.
Also, don’t put so much stock into what others think. Even if you didn’t get a kill and died 15 times there’s no need to let others words affect you.
When their words affect you, they win.
LOL I’ve seen that video before, that guy is hilarious.
The halo community has always been utter -Yoink-. Halo 2 was perhaps the worst community on xbox but thankfully most of the scum went to call of duty so it has actually improved.
I rmemeber this stuff as early as halo 2. It’s just part of the game - some good players are -Yoinks!-. I put it down largely to the intense/often angry mindset a lot of players put themselves in. It’s no uncommon in anything that’s competitive though really - these things inspire extreme emotions for whatever reason. It’s never really bothered me though, I usually feel like I deserve it if I haven’t pulled my weight ; P
That’s humans for you.
In my opinion, 21 kills isn’t even that good, so I don’t think he should be judging other people first.
And that video reminds me of why I dislike people.
Most of us Including myself are nostalgic spartans, grown up with responsibilites, we like the nostalgia feel cuz it reminds us when we played Halo CE at age 16. We had a care free life back then , but now were all grown up life aint the same any more and neither is Halo. So we always request nostalgic things so we can feel better about our lives.
Depends, what game mode were you playing
You were playing with THIS GUY. I wouldn’t worry about it. He’s just mad that he’s not allowed to stay up past 10pm.
That’s just online gaming in general, nothing to do with halo specifically.
I was messaged by someone “gg”.

I would say since Halo 2. I don’t remember many insults in the CE days. Elbows, thrown beverages, and the occasional broken furniture, but no insults.
Ummm that is pretty most online communities. Everyone is gonna have a few -Yoinks!-.

Ignoring them also works.
