I can’t be the only one to notice this and seriously be annoyed by it. The grenades in Halo 4 SUCK. They are not as powerful as Halo 3 and Reach. The most annoying thing is their range. Seriously, what’s the point of even using them? It is incredibly hard to us frags now that their blast radius is so small, plasmas are only good for sticking vehicles, (and they don’t even destroy them! More than once I’ve stuck a Ghost only for it and the driver to survive) and forget about even using Pulse grenades. Absolute garbage. If the radius on them was a just a bit bigger, then fine, ok. They would be great. But they are not! I throw them at a choke point and my opponent just walks around them! Absolutely ridiculous.
Please fix this 343. Make the radius’s a tad bigger. Just a tad. It would really make a huge difference.
I believe theres a loadout option to give your nades some more POW ability.
But im guessing you dont want to use it? Its nice winning a good duel and not having it all -Yoinked!- up by some weak laggy last ditch magnetic suicide grenade. Am i right? No more nade spamming holy hand grenade praying noobs ahmen!
Personally, I love the H4 nades. After the mini nukes we had in Reach I’m SO glad they got toned down. This is a first person SHOOTER after all. Grenades should be supplementary weapons not your primary ToD.

Agreeing with this. They actually got them pretty close to correct this time round, it is nice to not be killed by nade spam and actually be able to have duels with people.
There are crazy weak. 343 said they were making the game compliment different playstyles, but if you don’t like some kind of variant of Dmr-Bolt-Promethean/Pack-frag-resup-explosives then your not gonna do as well as others.
The purpose of these grenades are:
Frags: To strip shields
Plasma: To stick opponents and vehicles
Pulse: Make an area unfavorable to opponents.
When i’m in forge grenades go out a medium distance then drop which is what i think they should do in multiplayer. Explosives shouldnt exist, nades are easily avioded with sprint, jump and AA’s frags should do enough damage to STRIP not SCRATCH shields from close range and if your on top of a frag you should die.
Also we need more loadouts (not more to take in to game) but slayer, btb and objective games types have their own loadout “requirements” and there 7 weapons with only 5 loadouts so that’s normally 5 dmr’s and br’s and occasionally someone will have a light rifle or machine gun

Plasmas arent weak, they’re just good for panic sticks when you die.
Protip: Along with your DMR, PV and Boltshot, snag those plasma grenades and everytime someone gets the jump on you just press L alot and you’re guaranteed a kill trade <3
I use grenades plenty and they’re probably one of my most used weapons. And I can definitely tell they’re lethal vise versa when someone else uses them.

yes, part of it seems to be people flat out doing it after they dont get the first shot in. Its almost as if they think they’ve lose the battle after you win the first shot so they just close the distance as much as they can and just spam the LT. As well as it seeming to me that the plasma grenade hitbox seems a lot bigger than previous halos.
I remember when it was cool, and actually hard to get sticks in previous versions. Now its just a constant annoyance. I just want to clarify that im not bad and always get stuck because im dumb or something like that, but its really annoying when you’re fighting someone any you know they know they’re going to lose so they just spam nades in a last ditch effort to trade kills.
I wouldn’t mind the grenades so much if when an enemy was on top of a frag he would die, if I stuck a ghost with it would blow up and if i got to carry 2 pulse grenades.
Otherwise i think they are fine
