The reason is, Halo 5 is irreparably broken.
Beyond your W/L ratio, you’re personal stats are holding you back.
They may have put a maximum placement rank so this way, people don’t win 10/10 games and get placed in Champion.
I hate the CSR. It’s more based off how well your teammates do than how well you do.
I could get 35 of the kills needed in SWAT with like 3 deaths, but the enemy team wins because my teammates get no kills and die over and over. My CSR is negatively impacted.
I could have a -Yoink–tastic game of Swatnums (because F swatnums) where I get like 3 kills and die 20 times, but my team carries me and wins. My CSR is positively impacted.
What!?
Before the reset, I was Silver 2 in Breakout and Diamond 3 in Slayer. I did really well in Breakout, having several matches with many 3 on 1 rounds where I was the single guy and still pulled out the round, and I literally couldn’t do anything in Slayer (too much SWAT has made me a bit sluggish with non-SWAT game modes, but I can normally hold my own, but damn, I just did absolutely awful my first ten games of Slayer). If this doesn’t show how stupid the CSR is, I don’t know what will.

Someone else has the same disdain for swatnums as I do! its the reason I cant climb in swat lol. I’m just terrible at it for god knows what reasons but I’m able to admit it.

Wrong, the ranking system is a pure win/loss system. Personal stats do not matter. Even then, I do pretty damn well in over 75% of my games. I have a bad game here and there but a majority of my games I go positive and either at the top or second place on the leaderboard.
People will know how good you are when they play you.

I doubt that is true. I was watching some pros streaming during their 10 game placement and they lost games and still got Champion rank. It seems to go by win/loss once your placed but placement seems different.

What makes the difference? During my breakout placement I went 8/2 while being ranked either 1st or 2nd in my team and I got placed in bronze. I don’t understand why.

I went 8/2 breakout and got placed in bronze. Doesn’t make much sense to me either.

Probably not that good mate. Placement matches factor your skill relative to your opponents skill. The system pitted your against bronze calibre players and wasn’t impressed at your performance so you ranked bronze

I’m not sure how their algorithms work but the pro I was watching was Heinz and he was running his placement as soon as the patch dropped and seemed to be playing against other really good players.

its because your -Yoinking!- godawful.
your highest playlist was swat because they didn’t have a good enough placement for you last season. And even then you were only 1500 onyx.Your a better than average gold player, be glad you were placed higher than that.
I honestly think the ranking system is very accurate. Besides, on the off chance that you get placed in a lower division than you belong in, it wouldn’t be hard to win a bunch games versus opponents less skilled than you. Plus the first 10 matches take into account winning, but also stats and the skill of the players you play against.
