Does anyone think that custom games just got worse and worse since Halo 3? I feel like there is no incentive to play custom games any more i think that even though forging has been made easier, custom games isn’t being used as much. I also don’t know why they got rid of certain color teams and there are no more forced colors. I also feel that flood is not as good as infection. if you guys feel the same, different, or have anything else to add just post it.
A big part of it being that the custom options in Halo 4 are terrible, thankfully 343 said that they adressed this problem.

Where?
All I remember is reading an interview where they said they might get to it down the road, despite there being a HUGE thread about it…
Custom games were part of the backbone of Halo. You can’t just push custom games to the side and expect your game to succeed.
Ever since reach ive never had anyone to play customs with. I dont know what it is about it but halo 3 I was able to keep 5-6 people playing customs for hours on end but ever since reach I cant even get a custom game going let alone find one that is fun.
Dude, I think that Reach custom games were the best out of any Halo. Just my opinion.

Yeah, they added a lot to custom games in Reach,it’s just most people didn’t notice them.
Reach customs were the best. A lot of Reach was better than Halo 3, but people just refuse to see it. Better Forging, better Customs, etc.
But yeah, the situations with Customs and Forge are only made worse by the lack of a File Search system.
While reach added a lot to customs it also took a lot of options people used in halo 3 away, that’s why halo reach custom games were unpopular. Halo 4 took it to the extreme and made it uncustom games where you have basically no options. Which is why custom games will be completely dead in this game.
I really liked Customs in Reach, but in Halo 4, there are so few options that most people have given up on Customs completely.
Halo 2 was the last time when I got online and thought “I want to play a custom game”.
Every game since has had incentives for playing matchmaking instead.

It was in the ‘huge customs thread’, but then again I may bave read it wrong… All I know is that 343 replied to it. Sorry if I got your hopes up…
custom games have gone down hill since halo reach, but I have seen a few gems out there. But I’m friends with some very good forgers and we get together every week to show off what we got.
i feel like im one of the few people that can go on halo 4 and play custom games when ever i want…
That is the thing, Halo 3 had some problems but I have to say it was the Halo game I got the most enjoyment out of. Not because of the gameplay necessarily but because of the community features. Theater with multiple players, tons of custom options, fun(if primitive) forge, community challenges(ala road to Recon).
The main reason the lack of options for gametypes like flag. Not because I am so against the new format but because the lack of options in and of itself. To me that is what has been what has made Halo successful and I hope 343 addresses it in both Halo 4 and beyond.
